"Ordered connecting rooms for 3 at high floor, very nice, clean, and complete amenities aside from luggage storage but no big deal. Location is fantastic, 6-8 mins walking distance from Sannomiya station and bus stop from KIX. Many shops and restaurants around so convenient. Front desk english not good but check in still no issues, check out using machine so very fast. All in all a great value for a 3 star hotel and highly recommended!"

"I booked this hotel mainly for the view, and it definitely delivered. The west-facing room looks directly out onto the Ferris wheel, making it feel like a living painting from the window. The small balcony was perfect for fresh air and enjoying the scenery. The hotel is located within Meriken Park, offering a quiet escape while still being in the heart of Kobe. There's a free shuttle bus service to and from Sannomiya Station, and you can explore the park right outside the hotel. For shopping at Daimaru and other areas, it's about a 1 to 1.5 km walk through the park, or you can take the free shuttle bus for flexible travel. As a long-standing landmark, the hotel has been around for years. While it has undergone renovations, the lobby and interior still retain a sense of history and age. The basic services and facilities are all fine, but nothing particularly stands out. Considering its location and view, the weekday prices offer good value for money. However, weekend prices are a bit high, so staying during off-peak times would be more economical."

"I found the rooms surprisingly spacious and comfortable for Japan, easily accommodating my needs with great lighting and bedding. I was impressed by the excellent cleanliness and appreciated the professional, English-speaking staff who helped me with local tips and luggage. While I enjoyed the convenient facilities like the private bath areas and free amenities, I did notice some areas where the hotel could update older fixtures or be more consistent with daily maintenance."

"First and foremost, a huge and sincere thank you to the staff! 🌹 I accidentally left my bag in the dining area overnight and only realized it the next morning... I felt like my world was falling apart! 🤣 I immediately rushed to the front desk to ask if a bag had been found, not really expecting much. But when the staff member asked for my room number, a glimmer of hope appeared. Then, she appeared before me with my bag, and I was so emotional I almost cried! Thank you again! 💐 You truly showed me what honesty, security, and genuine kindness mean. The hotel itself is super convenient, just about 200 meters from JR Sannomiya Station. Everything you could need is nearby, and it's so easy to get anywhere by JR. When we left, the Limousine Bus stop for Kansai Airport was also close, within 500-600 meters, making our departure seamless. From 5 PM to 8 PM, there's a fantastic happy hour with free drinks and snacks. We enjoyed it for all three days of our stay – great atmosphere! It really added to the fun of our visit 🥐🧇🥜🍪🍫🧈🥂🍭. While the room wasn't huge, for us, as sightseers not laden with shopping bags, the size was perfectly adequate. Another thing to praise -> I booked a king room for 2 adults and 1 child. On the day of check-in, I didn't even mention anything, just checked in normally. When I opened the door, the room had one small bed and one large bed! 👏👏👏 (Perhaps when they copied our passports, they noticed our child was older and thought two beds would be better). A massive THANK YOU! 🌹🌹🌹 All in all, if I have the chance to visit Kobe again, I will definitely choose to stay here!"

"it was stated as a smoking room but honestly there’s no cigarette smell! conveniently located right beside a 7-11 konbini & a few more others down the road! i love how towels, slippers, toiletries & even pajamas are generously provided. the nearest exit is exit 6 (stairs) and exit 14!!!!! (upslope if you’re heading to the hotel down) has a godsend elevator! would def book this hotel when i’m back in kobe :-)"

"I stayed here for three nights in July 2024, and when I came back to Kobe, I naturally chose the same hotel. This time, the room was significantly larger than the previous one of the same type. The bed was still quite firm, which is a real plus for anyone with back issues. I slept soundly, as always. There's a Don Quijote right outside the door, and the famous Ikuta Shrine is just a few hundred meters away. Sannomiya Station is also only about a 7-8 minute walk. The area around the hotel is very lively, with all sorts of small restaurants and shops. The disposable amenities provided by the front desk were excellent, especially the hair ties, which my daughter particularly approved of."

"I have to give this a good review; it's excellent value for money and the front desk staff and other service personnel were all very enthusiastic, leaving me with a fantastic impression of Kobe. The location is also great. I stayed for three days and explored the surrounding area, and it still felt very convenient here. I often popped over to Daimaru for a browse, haha. "Stayed here 2 days before my Kobe cruise and it was good enough to rebook for another 3 days after we returned. The hotel is quiet new and located on top of the sannomiya station, giving underground access to most trains and shopping malls nearby. It's basically the center of Kobe. Exits are 1st floor to the street and 2nd floor to station. Reception is 17th floor. Rooms are slightly bigger than most hotels in Japan. Even number room gives you the larger massage machine but room is smaller than odd numbered rooms. These have a smaller massage chair but bigger space and faces the port terminal if you have a cruise ship waiting. They provide amenities, coffee and tea at 17th floor. Did not try the breakfast but there is a convenient store on 2nd floor of the station, near the hotel exit - lots if sandwiches and snacks here. There're hundreds of restaurants and malls underground and you'll get lost most of the time so look for entrance A1 and A2 to get back. Airport bus from kansai stops 200m away and bus to the airport departs 100m from the station. Most of the highest rated restaurants are not more than 400m from the hotel. I'll definitely stay here again."

"This time, I was assigned a room on the 29th floor with a mountain view, which I think offers the most beautiful scenery! The room still exudes the confidence of an old-school five-star hotel, with a comfortable sense of space and meticulous details. Especially that feeling of 'settling in comfortably' is something trendy influencer hotels can't match, even though the Okura has become quite popular itself 😝. But it still holds up to repeated stays and contemplation. The bedding, soundproofing, and cleanliness are top-tier, the kind where you can immediately relax once you're back in the room. What's even more impressive is that the Okura's excellence isn't just about one specific point, but about 'never dropping the ball.' The staff don't overdo it, but they're always there when you need them, and they never disturb you when you don't. The phrase 'subtle yet pervasive' perfectly describes this hotel. Kobe Okura doesn't make you think 'wow, it's so new and luxurious,' but rather, it shows you what the standard of a five-star hotel truly is. My only small regret is that the dessert shop is under renovation, and the previous Okura-owned supermarket has been replaced by a FamilyMart."

MM19459****Came to run the Kobe Marathon, and this place was incredibly convenient. It's less than 1 km walk from the starting point, and the race even passes right by the hotel! The hotel's hot spring was very comfortable, and they offered free popsicles, coffee, and Yakult – super happy about that! There are tons of restaurants downstairs, and it's walking distance to Daimaru department store. I'll definitely stay here again for the next Kobe Marathon!

MMairyOur stay in this hotel was great! I wish we stayed here longer than one evening. Our traditional Japanese room was very spacious and had two separate toilet rooms attached as well as a bathroom. The view from our room was amazing! And sitting area before the huge windows even had a massage chair and a vanity. The shoji doors showed some signs of wear but everything were very clean. Our kaiseki dinner was spectacular and incredibly tasty. But I wish there were some instructions for foreigners how to enjoy it properly. Our server didn't speak English and we didn't speak Japanese so there was a minor misunderstanding but everything was resolved 😅 I'm definitely a fan of such kind of a meal now! We visited all the hot springs that are available in this hotel and it's sister hotel across the river. I liked the silver indoor spring in our hotel and gold outdoor spring in sister-hotel the most. Hot springs are closed after 24:00. And open from 6:00 to 9:00 nest morning. Unfortunately they are closed from 9:00 to 12:00(check out time) which make it impossible to enjoy them in the morning for those who prefer to sleep in(( Would definitely reccommend the stay for relaxing and luxurious experience.

AAnonymous UserNot sure what has happened to Japan standard in the past couple of years but had called the hotel to confirm that linens are scent free (standard in Japan before) and was told yes. Unfortunately they are not, this new laundry detergent that is slowly spreading throughout Japan is absolutely horrible causing all sorts of allergic reactions (not only to me.) I start having rashes, compromised breathing, and inflammation issues. If it’s the same detergent used back in America, then it might be eco-friendly, but definitely not human friendly. I truly hope that Japan goes back to the way it was before the introduction of some western products filled with harmful chemicals to humans. It is not because you don’t react to it that it is not harming your body, it’s only a question of time and when it does, you won’t know why and there is no turning back. Take it from an Asian American born who was the biggest fan of American marketed products. We do have good products like ECOLAB, which is both, sustainable for the environment without compromising human health. Maybe laundry company should look into that company or simply return to Japanese products before. Good thing thing their pyjama are still scent free so I had to wrap the bed and cover with their pyjama to get through the night.

I subscribed to their dinner and breakfast which was pretty good. I definitely live the wooden bathtub in my room. They have shuttle services to and from Arima Onsen region. The only complain I have is the weak wifi.

JJugenshimaosuiAlthough this is an older five-star hotel, the lobby is spacious and features the traditional five-star amenities, which are well-maintained and appear very clean. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Shinkansen line. It was raining on the day we arrived, but there's a covered walkway directly from the Shinkansen to the hotel, so we didn't get wet, which was very handy. Check-in was quick, and the staff were friendly. They even informed us about ongoing exterior renovations, mentioning that workers might be passing by at certain times. It turned out to be work on an annex, quite far from our room, but I appreciated the heads-up. We booked a twin-bedded city view room, which was very large and even had a capsule coffee machine, though I couldn't use it as I don't drink coffee. The staff cleaned our room thoroughly every day. For breakfast, you can go to the buffet restaurant on the 4th floor, which offers a good variety of Japanese and Western dishes. The staff there were also very attentive, reminding guests around 10:00 AM that the last seating was at 10:30 AM. Alternatively, you can opt for a set menu on the 5th floor. This is served in a restaurant where the staff wear kimonos and are equally friendly. We had three breakfasts in total and chose the set menu one day; it was simple but tasty. Right next to the hotel is the Herb Garden, which is easily accessible by cable car. A short walk down from there, there's a glass house resembling an indoor rainforest. We enjoyed afternoon tea in a café inside while listening to a piano and violin performance. The hotel is just one subway stop from Sannomiya. It's also easy to walk to the Kitano-cho (Ijinkan Street) area and then to Sannomiya. My only minor complaint was that our room was quite close to the elevator; I would have preferred a room further away. The hotel also offers a direct bus service to Kansai Airport, but it only runs twice a day, at 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Since we missed the 11:00 AM bus, we took the subway one stop to the Sannomiya Bus Terminal, which is diagonally opposite Hankyu, where buses run every 20 minutes – also quite convenient.

GGuest UserHotel service was good. Dinner and breakfast was provided as part of the stay. Food was good for the stay since there are not much options for food at Arima. Most shops are closed by afternoon. Though the hotel is old but it’s renovated (except for the old wooden cupboard) which made the stay more pleasant. Onsen is indoor and small so will need to go at hours with lesser people.

AAnonymous UserThe hostel is very close to Oishi Station, only 200 meters away, just across an alley. It's a bit further from Rokko-dori Station, about a kilometer away. There are convenience stores and bakeries nearby. You can walk to Mount Rokko and Kobe University to watch the sunset and night view, a popular spot for taking photos. It's also convenient to take a bus to Kobe Sannomiya (around 200 yen). Compared to other hostels, the facilities are a bit older, and there's no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage upstairs yourself. However, it's clean and tidy. The lady who checked us in spoke English and was very friendly. There was also an elderly gentleman there at other times, who was also very nice. Initially, seeing a 4.3 rating, I was worried about a bad experience, but the actual stay was quite good.

GGuest UserMy views is just merely the location, it's quite away from the city and my experience of the rail & subway seems not at all friendly comparing with all my whole trip. maybe there is much construction happening therefore it hinders the walk-way and directions signs & so forth. If not mistaken, the photo on the web seems not matching with the present, if that's so, would be good to up-date it. - facilities: Yes, it very good. - Food: Excellent.
