"The shower had no partition, so water splashed everywhere while showering, and the previous guest's hair was floating all over the floor. Even after the housekeeping staff cleaned thoroughly, it wasn't completely clean, as the corners were barely tidied. Actually, I didn't have high hopes for hotels in this small city to begin with, and since I booked the room at the last minute with no other options, I had already lowered my expectations to the bare minimum. I didn't want to leave with a bad mood, but the experience was truly terrible. The bathroom leaked in the middle of the night, from the ceiling down in multiple places, water everywhere. I had to use a floor mat to stop the water from overflowing. I called the front desk, and there wasn't a single apology; they just told me to go to sleep. Ridiculous! The next day, past 8 am, I called the front desk again. They told me the maintenance personnel hadn't arrived yet. There wasn't a single apology or comfort throughout, as if I was supposed to just accept my fate and say nothing. They didn't offer any solutions. I said at least they should have housekeeping clean the bathroom, and only then did they come, saying, "Even if I cleaned it now, it'd still leak!" What kind of logic is that? After my repeated requests, the cleaning lady finally finished mopping the floor and was about to leave. I asked her to get me something to catch the leaking water from the bathroom; it couldn't just keep running like that. This lady used two indoor trash cans and a disinfection bucket—you can imagine the smell! She told me she only had this one bucket. At this point, I was completely fed up and decided not to stay there anymore. I called the front desk to request a room change or a refund. The front desk confidently told me they didn't have any and gave me a manager's phone number. Note that I was told to contact the manager myself because he wasn't at work. I called the manager, explained what had happened, and requested a room change or a refund. The manager was somewhat accommodating and moved me to a hotel next door. I said that no one had apologized to me the entire time. Only then did the manager say, "Sorry," and offered me a discount if I stayed at their hotel next time I came to Heihe. Isn't that ridiculous? I was so angry I almost laughed! The manager's attitude was good, and the problem was solved, but staying there again was definitely out of the question. The hotel mainly caters to Russian tour groups; they probably never intended to rely on service and cleanliness to survive. Aside from its proximity to Mother Square, it has no redeeming qualities."

The downside is that there's not much of a view; the floor lamps in the room are located under the bar, which are very dazzling and glaring, even with pillows."

"I'd like to share my review of the NINA Hotel. My husband and I were thrilled; it's centrally located, close to everything: the embankment, shopping arcades, and the Huafu shopping mall. Nina is a friendly, smiling hostess who'll give you all the advice and information you need. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the room has everything you need: a TV with Russian channels, air conditioning, an electric kettle, disposable cups, crisp white bedding, small and large towels, rubber slippers, and daily disposable toiletries and toilet paper. A hairdryer, forks, spoons, and so on are all available free of charge from Nina. If we go to China again, we won't look for other hotels; we'll definitely stay at Nina's."
