"First and foremost, putting everything else aside, the hotel staff were incredibly kind and warm. The location was also great, right in front of a market, and the square was within easy walking distance. However, the room was a bit cold at night, so that's something to keep in mind."

Hampton by Hilton Cusco

📍 Tullumayu Avenue 227, Cusco

"Great stay. We were two girls and stayed 3 nights. They have the most helpful staff I have ever met. Especially Carlos who went above and beyond to help us with every single thing during our stay. He came with us all the way to the phone repair shop to help translate when my phone stopped working. Really grateful we chose this place."

Hotel Cusco La Paccha, affiliated by Meliá

Hotel Cusco La Paccha, affiliated by Meliá

📍 Av. El Sol 1436, Cusco
★★★★ 8.4 (59 reviews)

"The average price of nearly 1000 RMB per night is indeed very overpriced. The hotel facilities are outdated, resembling a state-run guesthouse from the 1990s. The room WiFi is extremely poor, practically unusable! Large tour groups stay at the hotel, making it very noisy in the mornings. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, only electric heaters. It is far from the city center, usually requiring a taxi ride. The advantages are: the front desk staff are friendly, and the breakfast is good."

Illa B&B

Illa B&B

📍 Kiskapata 250, Cusco
★★★ 8.5 (70 reviews)

"I found a B&B temporarily because the previous B&B didn’t have enough hot water. The illa bnb is at the top of the mountain (needs to climb). If you don’t take a taxi, you need to be careful with your suitcases. Both booking and ctrip can be booked. The landlord will open a WhatsApp group. If you have any questions, ask directly. The landlord directly sends a link for payment. International credit cards and UnionPay are supported. The house is very large with two floors, one on the first floor and one on the ground floor. According to the app, there are three room types: an ordinary double room, a mini flat with a kitchen, and a luxurious flat with a kitchen. The Cusco Cathedral can be seen from the restaurant. The hair dryer and hot water kettle are shared. The whole design is a bit Greek and very comfortable. Our room may be a little noisy at the entrance. You can hear the sound of the bar outside at night, but in Cusco, it is very active every day, so basically just fall into bed and sleep. We booked a mini flat. The room was larger than the photos. It had a large living room and dining room, an open kitchen, a bedroom, a hot water, and a very nice bathroom. Maybe it was due to the area. There was basically no air conditioning in the B&Bs in Cusco (but it was very hot at noon and at night). It’s very cold (2-23 degrees Celsius a day with a big temperature difference)"

Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Cusco

"not in the centre of Cusco but close enough, 5-10mins to main square. we left our luggage at hotel when we went to Machu Picchu and when we got back was already waiting for us in our reserved room. decent size bed/ room, bath room but small and the fan is cold in winter as it blows directly to the shower/tun. But generally good service. breakfast was also decent, although they seemed understaffed at the restaurant"

Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel, Cusco Hotels in Cusco

Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel, Cusco

"Belmond Monasterio: The Best Hotel in Cusco, Beyond Any Comparison Without exaggeration, Belmond Monasterio is the best hotel in Cusco. Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice. The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece. Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt. I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name. In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio."

Hotel Montecristo Cusco Hotels in Cusco

Hotel Montecristo Cusco

"The hotel is very comfortable and it is very good to stay in the hotel. The breakfast is on a timetable as nobody can use it (6-9am), as the tours start at 4am and if you stay in the room, you will not, of course, get up so early to breakfast. Limited food supply in variety and portions. Two days before check-out, we asked for another night; they assured to give it, but the day it was required, we were denied because "they had not booked it". Only two people do well their job: the cleaner girl and the night's receptionist (although she is also limited in her acting)."

Hilton Garden Inn Cusco ★★★★
"This was our favourite hotel in Peru! The staff were amazing, always checking on us and making sure we were comfortable. They helped us with oxygen when one of us was sick from altitude. They have a laundry room, which was super convenient as a family. Laura at the front desk was incredible, she deserves a promotion! Such a lovely, and helpful front desk attendant!"

Casa Cruz Verde by Peru Garden Hotels ★★★
"This was an absolutely FANTASTIC stay experience and I recommend it to all travellers to Cusco. The house is conveniently located in the historic centre of Cusco and you can easily access restaurants, cafes, main attractions within a few minutes of walking. The Wanchaq train station is at most a 20-minute walk on the main street of Cusco, thereby making it very safe and easy at any time of the day. Taking an Uber, it is around 20 to 30-minute drive to the Cusco Airport, costing less than PEN 20. The main gates are locked at night for safety, though all staff will make sure that front desk service is still available 24 hours for anyone needing to exit or enter the premises. Communications is conveniently maintained through WhatsApp and made very easy. There is some street noise in the rooms at night including music playing from nearby shops, but that seems to be more prevalent on the weekends. The room and bathroom are well-maintained and have all the necessary amenities, including welcoming packets of coca tea. There is an electric heater in the room for nights with lower temperatures. Breakfast is made-to-order for every item, and it feels like a private restaurant experience. Eggs cooked any way are of top quality; juices are freshly squeezed; breads are toasted warm; coffee and tea are made fresh and refilled at a moment's notice; and the fruit salads are filled with copious amount of fresh fruit. Service is all top notch: homemade breakfast every morning, housekeeping at appropriate times, 24-hour service for late-night arrivals or early-morning departures, and answering questions for travellers - the hosts are absolutely warm and welcoming in every way possible. They also generously kept my large luggage in storage while I travelled to Machu Picchu for two days (coming back to stay again after), which made my trip very convenient. Again, I would recommend this to all travellers to Cusco, especially considering that the value for money is amazing."

"The room was decent, and thankfully there was an elevator on the fourth floor, especially considering the city's altitude of 3400 meters. I don't know if it was altitude sickness or a bad pillow, but I didn't sleep very well. The complimentary CoCo tea in the lobby helped alleviate altitude sickness. Breakfast included delicious roast pork, but due to the altitude sickness and lack of sleep, I drank cold milk first thing in the morning, which I vomited and couldn't enjoy. The hotel's free luggage storage was a thoughtful touch, allowing guests to walk quietly to the Temple of the Sun and Plaza de Armas in Cusco, which takes 10-30 minutes. It's not close to the city's main tourist area, but it's only a few hundred meters from the Inca train station, a 5-minute walk. If you want to be closer to the core tourist attractions, I recommend the Terra Andina Hotel."

"This place is a real gem, we felt at home! The kindness of the hosts and employees, the clean, pleasant and spacious rooms, the breathtaking view of the city and the friendly breakfast are well worth the effort of the steps to climb to get there. Thank you a thousand times for your welcome and your help, if our path takes us to Cusco again we will return to Illa B&B without hesitation. I recommend 100%!"

"I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, although there was some miscom regarding breakfast as my booking excludes breakfast but front desk made it sound that it was included, resulting in breakfast being added to my bill. Nonetheless, they did well, I had to leave before 6am before breakfast time and they prepared a breakfast box for me to take away. Also, the hotel receptionist was very helpful and friendly and recommended many places to explore around the hotel. Only the soundproofing is bad for a new hotel. If the hotel can improve, it will be wonderful!"
