"This was our favourite hotel in Peru! The staff were amazing, always checking on us and making sure we were comfortable. They helped us with oxygen when one of us was sick from altitude. They have a laundry room, which was super convenient as a family. Laura at the front desk was incredible, she deserves a promotion! Such a lovely, and helpful front desk attendant!"

"It was a perfect stay. The rooms were lovely, clean and the beds very comfortable. The stuff was always very helpful, offer us a doctor and gave us good tips when we feel bad about the high. They brought our dirty clothes to a laundry and mad breakfast every day. The few was great and the b&b was close to the center but very quiet as well. I can highly recommend that place."

"The hotel has an excellent location, within walking distance of Plaza de Armas and major attractions. I especially loved the courtyard design of the hotel lobby; it had a wonderful atmosphere. The front desk staff were warm and friendly. Although the hotel rooms were just average, for around 300 yuan, it was the best value hotel I've had during my trip to the Americas!"

The hotel's most distinctive feature is its historic architecture. Converted from a 16th-century colonial building, the hotel retains its traditional Spanish colonial style in the courtyard, with stone walls, arcades, and courtyards exuding historical charm. Stepping into the hotel feels like stepping back in time to Cusco centuries ago, perfectly blending into the surrounding ancient city atmosphere. The service was generally excellent. The front desk and concierge staff were friendly, spoke fluent English, and were helpful with high-altitude travel, transportation arrangements, and local tourist information. The check-in and check-out processes were efficient, reflecting the mature service standards of an international chain hotel. The breakfast was satisfactory. The restaurant offered a wide selection of Western and local specialties, including fresh fruit, bread, hot dishes, coffee, and Peruvian ingredients. Considering Cusco's high altitude, the breakfast was varied and provided a good energy boost, preparing guests for a day of travel. The guest rooms were modern and comfortable, with good quality bedding and overall cleanliness. While some rooms retained historical architectural structures, resulting in slight variations in room layout, they were generally well-maintained. It's worth noting that Cusco experiences significant temperature differences between day and night, and some rooms may not be very warm in winter. Additional heating can be requested from the hotel in case of low temperatures. Overall, Novotel Cusco's greatest strengths lie in its excellent location, rich historical atmosphere, and reliable international brand service. It allows guests to experience the cultural charm of Cusco's old town while providing modern comforts, making it a highly recommended choice for exploring Cusco and the surrounding area."

"The hotel converted into an ancient house is quite large inside and very local. There are many public rest areas and the courtyard landscape is beautiful. There are often surprises in corners, antique furniture decoration, and the atmosphere is full. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is large. There is a separate toilet and shower room. The independent balcony can rest and enjoy the street view. Luggage can be stored at the front desk and 2 minutes walk from the weapons square in the city center."

"There’s a baby alpaca that works in the courtyard! The hotel is nice and clean and all the staff are friendly and helpful. The only drawback is it’s slightly further from the main square, but it’s not too bad if you enjoy strolling through the city. The location is closer to the more local part of Cusco so the restaurants nearby have more Peruvian fare, highly recommend!"

Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice. The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece. Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt. I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name. In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio."
