JjanzzyOverall, I'm very satisfied! After arriving by bus, we walked about 600m to the pier reception, then took a slow boat to the hotel's pier. Baan is the closest of the four hotels to the pier (as shown in the last picture), which was a huge relief! It's just a 1-minute walk, saving us the hassle of getting a tuk-tuk. The hotel isn't luxurious, but it's quiet and elegant. I especially loved the tree by the beach. Being close to Christmas, the evenings here left a wonderful impression on me! The room was quite spacious, with an IKEA-esque style. There's an outdoor balcony, perfect for reading in the morning. Outside the room, there's a chocolate drink shop where you can grab a drink to enjoy on the beach. To the north, it's less crowded and beautifully scenic – I really love it here! Breakfast was also quite extensive, with several dishes you could select individually. The staff's attitude was much better than in many places in Bangkok. I'm especially grateful that on my first day, I forgot my DJI drone, and the front desk staff kept it safe for me until I returned. Thank you! Oh, and there's a small restaurant run by an old man to the north that's absolutely delicious! Try the Tom Yum Goong and Mama noodles! My husband and I, along with the Swedish couple at the next table, completely cleaned our plates. Highly recommend: ร้านเจ้กิวลุงเตี้ย

GGuest UserThe taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people. However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned. Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day. One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police. Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.

ААнна ИсмагиловаUpon check-in, our family room had a dirty patch on the wall under the air conditioner and was located near the reception area. The room provided was not as cozy or inviting as it appeared in the photos, and it was quite small, with a very narrow walkway between the entrance and the beds. We managed to upgrade to a higher-category room on the spot for an additional fee. Breakfast is delivered to the room with two options to choose from, but the only place to eat is on the bed, which is quite inconvenient. Another drawback is the lack of foot-washing stations outside the rooms, meaning sand gets tracked in constantly. On the positive side, the location is excellent – just 10 steps from a beach with pristine white sand. The hotel also offers private sun loungers and has a cafe serving delicious iced coffee. I noticed the hotel features two premium rooms – two-story bungalows with direct sea views (as shown in some photos), but I couldn't find them listed on Trip.com.

YYKT MikhailGreat location, a small cozy hotel with friendly staff and a delicious breakfast; the soup was particularly enjoyable. They also offer free bicycles and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs). Direct access to two beaches is a huge plus. Even though it was off-season, we were pleasantly surprised by the weather. The sea was a bit wavy, but still swimmable. The beaches were clean, and the white sand crunched delightfully underfoot. You can even get a massage right on the beach. Act, the front desk manager, was incredibly welcoming and friendly, always ready to assist, and even saw us off to our taxi. I wish the hotel continued success. P.S. My only suggestion would be to refresh the beach towels.

CChris 王墨迪Overall the hotel has certainly fallen over the past 3 years and it’s pretty sad to see this happen, if you’re a single traveler or a couple I would recommend but I couldn’t recommend the hotel to families in its current state. Management: Great management they listen to complaints, they are responsible and try to solve all issues. Sadly the management don’t have so much to work with these days. General staff: A large percentage of the staff are Cambodian and living in limbo with the current issues between both countries. With the exception of one or two Cambodian staff most are either depressed and miserable or damn right rude, unhelpful and disrespectful. (The floor manager explained this himself) Rooms: Nice and simple rooms the do the job but aging fast. The rooms look good but are not high quality materials and it shows the labor and material quality is low and cheap. Showers have virtually no pressure when the hotel is busy and the water won’t reach higher than luke-warm. Location: I have to say it’s one of the best locations on the island when considering location and facilities and I guess this is their main selling point. They have shops, bars, restaurants, coffee shop and more. Patrons: Most of the year the majority of visitors are going to be Tha and Asian, they are respectful, they have manners and they will be great to holiday alongside. During Christmas to New Year there were too many rude Europeans especially Swedish tourists, these tourists camped and took over large areas of the bar and restaurants, they moved around furniture, they were rude and disrespectful to other tourists leaving trash noise and mess wherever they visited. (Staff and management ignored) Note: This used to be a great hotel and I have continuously visited over the past several years. Unfortunately I have begun to see a degradation of the hotel, the attitude towards western tourists (due to poor behavior of westerners) as well as issues related to the diplomatic issues between Cambodia and Thailand. I due hope this improves in the future. With new staff or new immigration laws as well as new investment into the hotel it could easily thrive once more.

GGuest UserLocation is amazing! Beach is beautiful! Room is quite old and pool view room has no privacy at all. Bathroom was not so fresh. Selection of food for breakfast is suitable for 3 star hotel. Restraint is very tasty food! Recommend to have a lunch. Found hotel Manager is not very friendly. Stuff is okay, but won’t say that very welcoming people.

NNarichThe room was spotless and beautifully decorated. The location was convenient, and the breakfast was outstanding. Upon check-in, we encountered an issue with the door lock, but the hotel promptly arranged a room change. The front desk staff handled the situation with great efficiency and professionalism. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

GGuest UserService: First off, a huge shout-out to the service! Our trip was a bit rushed, and all the rooms were booked up. We originally wanted to stay for three nights, but the middle night was Valentine's Day, and it was so popular that we couldn't get a reservation. I thought it would be easy to find another hotel, but there was nothing available. A guy at the front desk named James was an absolute lifesaver! From the moment I asked him, he not only helped coordinate rooms at their own hotel but, more importantly, he continuously helped me contact other hotels and made reservations for us without hesitation. Otherwise, we would have been sleeping on the streets! There was also a lovely lady at the front desk who was incredibly helpful. A big thank you to both of them. Environment: I absolutely loved the hotel's environment! The beach is right there, connected to the hotel. It's not a sandy beach, but the best part is that you can go clamming and crabbing there – we found moon snails, bullseye snails, turret snails, and even various sea cucumbers and crabs! It's perfect for families with kids. Facilities: The hotel seems to have been newly renovated and it's done really well. Everything is very new, so there's no hesitation about staying here. The breakfast was also good. If we ever come back to Koh Samet, we will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again!

GGuest UserAt first they could not find the reservation. The room was good, old but wel kept and clean. Aircon worked well but the shower had no pressure. When we mentioned this at reception it was fixed within hours. The gardens were cut but the gardener left all cuttings whete they were so we cleaned our own path. The coffee and teacans were so dirty we did not even toych them, but thete was a coffeemachine that worked slowly as well. Bad coffee though🙃. Very good yoghurt, fresh baked/fried eggs and a choice of asian food. Only melon for fruit and juice was the usual sugarwater. Chairs with parasols and good matrasses on a great part of the beach, and although it was never clean of leaves, there were some guys shoving some leaves around every morning. This place has a lot going for it, but, like the rest of Samed, it lacks enthusiasm and selfrespect. High prices are okay, but only if the standard is a bit higher. There is trash EVERYWHEREon Samet, and I mean stinky big piles of black bags, matrasses and plastic bottles. Behind one beach where we walked to, it smelled as there was a corpse lying around. That was not at our beach luckily, but Samed is small and I think things can be ran a lot better with the amount of money coming in.

GGuest UserThe most important thing about this place is its owner. Alex is a wonderful and friendly local islander. He truly puts his heart into what he does and does everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as it can be. Have a problem? Just talk to Alex and he’ll do his best to help. Need advice? Ask Alex! I think the main idea is clear As for the place itself, it’s calm and quiet, yet close to the central part of the island where all the main shops are located. The beach is a 3-minute walk away, another one is about 5 minutes away — everything is nearby. The hotel has its own bar and a private area, peaceful and relaxing. The main issue is mosquitoes, but that’s not really the hotel’s fault — after all, there’s nature right behind the fence, and a very unusual one at that. We even saw a giant stick insect on the property for the first time ever, lol 🙂 The bungalow has all the basic essentials: a bed, air conditioning, a toilet, a shower, and a kettle. It might be nice to have a wardrobe or some storage for clothes, but that’s just a small nitpick. If you’re not picky and don’t need five-star service, but appreciate a warm and genuine welcome, I can highly recommend this place! Thank you, Alex — if we ever come back to Samet, we’ll definitely stay with you again!
