Evelia Kohsamed is located in Ao Phutsa, a 3-minute walk from Ao Phai Beach. At the hotel, every room comes with a balcony. Complete with a private bathroom equipped with a shower and free toiletries, all guest rooms at Evelia Kohsamed have a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and some rooms here will provide you with a terrace. Guests at the accommodation can enjoy a buffet or an American breakfast.

"This is a small, cozy, and stylish hotel. Everything is bright and clean, the plumbing is good, there was always hot water, a kettle in the room, a quiet air conditioner that can be easily adjusted to your needs, nice bed linens, and beach towels. The breakfast is standard, but everything is fresh and delicious. There were scrambled eggs or an omelet, cereal, yogurt, fresh vegetables, a good selection of fruit, sandwiches, and sometimes rice with chicken or soup. The only downside was the instant coffee. The beach is a 3-minute walk away. You can rent a bike at the hotel. There were no mosquitoes or gnats. Most importantly, the staff was very friendly."

CCooldayThe Samed Resorts group offers the guests a free boat shuttle service to Samed Island (even free car parking), which I find very convenient. The staff helped us loading the baggage to the boat and from the boat to the hotel. Ban Ploy sea is located right next to the pier with a few minutes walk. The check-in went smoothly. The staff was so helpful and friendly. He even offered me an upgrade room with the sea front view for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfy. At the back of the resort is a log house cafe, offering tasty cakes and fancy drinks. I feel really relaxed lying on a private beach. In the evening we were so lazy to go out, just had dinner at the hotel‘s restaurant every night. It was not cheap but everything was delicious. Overall, we are very satisfied. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good – he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people. However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned. Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day. One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police. Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.

AAnonymous UserI've stayed at this hotel three times. The first two times, I stayed in the Premier area. Last time, while walking around the hotel, I saw that the bungalows had great views, so this time I decided to stay in one. I specifically asked a Ctrip specialist to help communicate my preferred bungalow location, and the hotel said they would try their best to accommodate. When I arrived, the location they gave me was indeed good, the second row from the sea. Let's talk about the pros: 1. **Price**: It's the cheapest among all room types. 2. **Location**: Because I specifically requested a spot, the bungalow faced the sea directly. I could watch the sunrise and the ocean right from my bed. 3. **Photo opportunities**: The bungalow area is great for photos, with rocks by the sea, perfect for shallow swimming (be mindful of strong waves). Cons: 1. **Wildlife**: Geckos, ants, and mosquitoes – it's practically a wildlife sanctuary! Don't even think about keeping any food inside. If you do, ants will inevitably line up, and geckos will show up out of nowhere. 2. **Rooftop battles**: Every night, squirrels would fight on the roof, running around and brawling as if possessed, non-stop. 3. **Bird chorus**: With many large trees, birds rest there. When a strong gust of wind blows from the sea, the birds would start chirping for a while. 4. **Distance**: It's a bit far from the hotel's central area. If you're okay with these four points, then the bungalows are a good choice. Now, about the service and public facilities: The hotel's restaurant/bar is excellent. Every night there's a fire show and performances. Five nights a week there's a band, and the other two nights are singing. The prices at the bar are also good, not expensive, with a 10% service charge, which is standard in most Thai restaurants. Since this was my third stay, I didn't have high hopes for the service; it's hit or miss. Some staff are enthusiastic, others are not. On the first day of my stay, the shower water was quite cold, around 37-38 degrees Celsius. I called a staff member, and they found that the only way to deal with it was by reducing the water flow. So, I waited for the front desk to resolve it. Their final solution was to pre-reduce the water flow in the adjacent bungalow so the temperature would go up, and they asked me to switch rooms. I honestly couldn't be bothered to communicate with them further. This problem seems to be specific to the bungalow area; I never had this issue when I stayed in the Premier area. But they weren't very honest about it. One of the bar staff members was truly sullen. No smiles, fine. But when I went to the restroom, a foreigner next to me was locked inside and couldn't get out, calling out loudly for help. I quickly went to them for assistance. I mean, as a customer, I'm helping you solve a problem, right? But after he opened the door, he didn't apologize to the trapped foreigner, nor did he thank me.

CChris 王墨迪Overall the hotel has certainly fallen over the past 3 years and it’s pretty sad to see this happen, if you’re a single traveler or a couple I would recommend but I couldn’t recommend the hotel to families in its current state. Management: Great management they listen to complaints, they are responsible and try to solve all issues. Sadly the management don’t have so much to work with these days. General staff: A large percentage of the staff are Cambodian and living in limbo with the current issues between both countries. With the exception of one or two Cambodian staff most are either depressed and miserable or damn right rude, unhelpful and disrespectful. (The floor manager explained this himself) Rooms: Nice and simple rooms the do the job but aging fast. The rooms look good but are not high quality materials and it shows the labor and material quality is low and cheap. Showers have virtually no pressure when the hotel is busy and the water won’t reach higher than luke-warm. Location: I have to say it’s one of the best locations on the island when considering location and facilities and I guess this is their main selling point. They have shops, bars, restaurants, coffee shop and more. Patrons: Most of the year the majority of visitors are going to be Tha and Asian, they are respectful, they have manners and they will be great to holiday alongside. During Christmas to New Year there were too many rude Europeans especially Swedish tourists, these tourists camped and took over large areas of the bar and restaurants, they moved around furniture, they were rude and disrespectful to other tourists leaving trash noise and mess wherever they visited. (Staff and management ignored) Note: This used to be a great hotel and I have continuously visited over the past several years. Unfortunately I have begun to see a degradation of the hotel, the attitude towards western tourists (due to poor behavior of westerners) as well as issues related to the diplomatic issues between Cambodia and Thailand. I due hope this improves in the future. With new staff or new immigration laws as well as new investment into the hotel it could easily thrive once more.

GGuest UserResort has a nice location. However the quality of rooms is not that good. We stayed in pool view room, which has big windows, feels no privacy. Room ventilation is bad, have a not fresh smell Breakfast is okay for 3 starts beach hotel. Restaurant food one the THE BEST! on island. Recommend to have lunch in this place. Hotel gives complimentary kayak, it was a great experience !

GGuest UserPros: 1. Location is ideal ( walking distance between two beach ) and right by the beach 2. Room is big and toilet is spacious with a wardrobe  3. Big smart TV Cons:  1. Hotel is up the hill and it is very steep. It is a 3 storey buildings (our room is all the way up the top). Had to ”hike up” the hills and then the stairs. ( each trip is a cardio ) Not ideal to commute back and forth from the room to the beach. Not for elderly/ ppl with disabilities. 2. Breakfast is very average. There was limited seating so had to wait and refills took very long ( kitchen seemed to be short staffed in the high season )  Overall, the stay was average.

KKiTTiMA K.If you’re looking for a place of relaxing, hearing the whispering of waves, focus in yourself, here is the place! Recommended! 🌟 I had a beautiful time here since my first step in till the day of step out. 🥰 welcoming with the white tea aroma had already impressed me. My room is a bit small for two but trust me! You don’t wanna stay in the room all day while the beautiful nature is calling outside. Apart from wonderful view right in front of my room, you can have your own moment of sunrise every morning, cozy and nice relaxing a whole day long, walking to see the sunset is less than 10mins. There is great service and the room keeps cleaning which they have never disturbed your staying. They serve nice breakfast here both international buffet and Thai style. This place might be far away from other happening restaurants in the busy beaches but their dishes are acceptable, Thai dishes are good taste, fresh pizza served right from the oven while drinks, cocktails 🍹are good here! Some missing in the menu but I think they hear it. 😉

GGuest UserThe most important thing about this place is its owner. Alex is a wonderful and friendly local islander. He truly puts his heart into what he does and does everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as it can be. Have a problem? Just talk to Alex and he’ll do his best to help. Need advice? Ask Alex! I think the main idea is clear As for the place itself, it’s calm and quiet, yet close to the central part of the island where all the main shops are located. The beach is a 3-minute walk away, another one is about 5 minutes away — everything is nearby. The hotel has its own bar and a private area, peaceful and relaxing. The main issue is mosquitoes, but that’s not really the hotel’s fault — after all, there’s nature right behind the fence, and a very unusual one at that. We even saw a giant stick insect on the property for the first time ever, lol 🙂 The bungalow has all the basic essentials: a bed, air conditioning, a toilet, a shower, and a kettle. It might be nice to have a wardrobe or some storage for clothes, but that’s just a small nitpick. If you’re not picky and don’t need five-star service, but appreciate a warm and genuine welcome, I can highly recommend this place! Thank you, Alex — if we ever come back to Samet, we’ll definitely stay with you again!
