GGuest UserThe room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the view was great. The free cocktail and coffee services in the lobby were nice, as well as the free drink bar (including one beer per person) near the entrance to the hot spring. The paid massage service was also good. The meals were decent, especially the grilled beef, which simply melted in my mouth. The restaurant staff welcomed us warmly and provided friendly service.
Cons: The variety of hot springs was lacking, and the view from the hot springs was almost blocked, which was disappointing. The lockers for valuables used combination dials, and foreign guests often didn’t know how to use them, locking their room keys inside and struggling to reopen them. This was a major inconvenience. They should switch to a key-and-wristband system like other onsen hotels.
The room itself felt like an old, once-grand mansion that had seen better days. The furniture had many scratches, and the surfaces were worn and peeling. It made me think it must have been impressive in the past. Still, the room was definitely more spacious compared to other hotels.

GGuest UserThis was my second visit to this large onsen hotel, and I noticed that the staff’s English has improved, which we really appreciated. We were especially thankful that they prepared our futons with two layers, thanks to that, we had no trouble sleeping on the tatami this time.
Our room was on the 11th floor, but unfortunately, there wasn’t much of a river view unless we stepped out onto the balcony and leaned over to look down. Instead, the view was of an old, closed-down, partially demolished hotel, which was a bit disappointing.
Their rooftop onsen offered a beautiful mountain view, which made up for it to some extent. However, there were no bathing amenities such as shampoo and conditioner available there. It seems like they expect guests to experience the onsen on the first and another floor for showering and washing up.
Their buffet offered a wide variety of food, but the steak was too tough, the sashimi felt soggy and the tempura wasn’t crispy at all

GGuest UserA family trip, parents and children. Kinugawa is a declining hot spring town. It became popular after Tobu opened the train. I chose this place at night when I was traveling to Nikko. The hotel is a little far from Tobu Kinugawa Station, and it takes more than 20 minutes to walk. It is recommended to take the bus next to the station if you are traveling with children, the elderly or large suitcases. The hotel dinner is buffet style, and drinks are charged separately. The men's and women's baths are switched in the morning and evening. The open-air baths also do not offer views of the outside. The room size is OK, enough for children. A standard hot spring hotel.

MM304597****I stayed in a twin room on the third floor, and there's an elevator. The room has a toilet (no shower), and the shower rooms are next door, with two on each floor. There's also a washing machine. On the first floor, there's a public bath, which is quite small and only fits two people. Breakfast is 700 yen per person and is filling. Right across from the inn entrance is a Family Mart, which is very convenient. There's no luggage storage, only lockers by the entrance for 100 yen per use. A 24-inch suitcase fits easily, and 25-26 inches should be fine too; for 28 inches, you might want to double-check. I managed to fit my 24-inch suitcase plus 2 liters of water. It's a 3-minute walk from Tobu Nikko Station, or 5 minutes if you walk slowly.

XXinburuJoThe hotel's location is fantastic, right across from the JR station and very close to Tobu Nikko Station. A bus stop is also just a two-minute walk away, offering great convenience.
The hotel environment is quite pleasant. The lobby isn't luxurious but is tastefully decorated, and the staff speak English. They thoughtfully provide toiletries like makeup remover and facial cleanser, which is very convenient. Complimentary afternoon beverages are also a nice perk.
The room size was acceptable, and it was cleaned well. However, there was a noticeable urine smell in the bathroom; I couldn't tell if it was from the drainage system or due to the building's age. Also, bottled water was not provided in the room, and there was no humidifier.

RRosie33The bunk bed was so large compare to average bed size with comfy and clean blanket and sheet. There is personal locker with key, lamp, charge station, body and face towel, slipper, and free flow kimono and amenities. The soap, shampoo, body lotion, and face wash are provided. I think it is super fantastic compared to the cheap price.
We can use public onsen (male and females are in different rooms so it is so convenient). From 15.00-22.00, in the Lake-View Lounge, we can drink and eat snacks for free: all kinds of alcohol, various soft drinks machines, coffee machines, beer, ice, tea, etc. So fantastic!!!!!
There are library and game corners as well. This hotel is just across the Chuzenji Lake, 900m from Kegon lake. There is one and only convenient store (10mins by walk from hotel) which is open 08.00-20.00.
Even though there are view restaurants nearby, however, you must be aware that food here is quite difficult to access. Restaurants mostly close as early as 3 or 4 pm.
I will definitely come here again.

GGuest UserThe location is really good. 10 mins away from the station. Easy to find. Big hotel, about 11 floors. The room is quite spacious, part in western style with beds and part in japaneese with tatamis. There is sink in themiddle of the room, quite comfy. Good view to the mountain and forest from the window, 9th floor. Nice yukata to wear, i liked the outerpart. Breakfast and dinner is buffet, quite big choice, free beer for dinner, not so many fruits, no cakes for breakfast (dinner only). There is sushi and sashimi choice, delicious food. Onsen is quite good, clean, big. Will recommend to stay here

GGuest UserI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.”
My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away.
Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.

私のホテル・ユーロシティでの滞在はとても快適でした。スタッフの皆さんはとても親切で、シャトルバスのサービスも素晴らしかったです。駅から歩きたくない場合は、ホテルのホームページでシャトルバスの時刻を確認すると良いと思います。毎日、JR日光駅のすぐ隣にある「日光ステーションホテルクラシック」から 9:00／9:30／10:00／15:15／16:15／17:15／18:15 に運行しています。
部屋は広くて快適で、裏庭にある温泉もとても良かったです。確かに部屋には少し匂いがありましたが、おそらく害虫駆除をした後の匂い（殺虫剤のような匂い）だと思います。窓を開けてしばらく換気すればなくなります。
朝食は普通で、広告ほど豪華ではありませんでしたが、ハイシーズンではなかったためかもしれません。全体的に、特に家族連れの方にはとても良い選択だと思います。

The food supply is very good and there are surprises. The hot spring baths are good. This hotel really wants to improve the quality of hygiene, the carpets are dark, and the room should be changed to not smoke. But the price is very high, especially the discount of Trip.com
