"This was by far the best value-for-money hotel we've ever stayed at during our many international trips. It's only about a 10-minute walk from the Onsen Station. The hotel is brand new, the rooms are huge, and the facilities are all-encompassing – seriously, they thought of everything! Check-in is fully self-service, though one minor hiccup was that it didn't prompt me about the number of guests, so I kept getting an error until I realized I needed to delete the extra guest slots. And for this price, it even includes a private hot spring bath with authentic thermal water – absolutely amazing!"

Great
GGuest UserMy first time visit to Japan and I was after an authentic Japanese accommodation. I booked a Japanese Style room with futon beds which were very comfortable. The room was beautiful and very clean. My booking also included breakfast and dinner which were always outstanding, beautifully prepared and unique food items. They utilized farm to table dining and the women explained each item served. They provided and encouraged one to wear Kimonos’s /tabi socks / slippers during one’s stay at, “ Nikko Iwaiyado Juyan “. Which further contributed to the authentic Japanese vibe. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs were amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The hotel is nestled within mountains and the setting serene. Hotel is family owned and they take pride in caring for their guests.
GGuest UserThe service is really good, the dinner and breakfast are also very exquisite, and the snow scenery is particularly beautiful, but the transportation is really troublesome. If you go, you must set off early. We set off from Machida at 8 o'clock and finally arrived very thrillingly. The hot spring is very good, and the open-air scenery is particularly beautiful! ! ! The way up the mountain is beautiful and you can see wild animals such as deer and monkeys!
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at the holiday home!
The house was very clean, modernly furnished, and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We especially loved the cozy terrace and the beautiful view – perfect for quiet evenings.
The location is also ideal: quiet, yet close to shops and attractions. Communication with the owners was friendly and straightforward, and all our questions were answered quickly.
We felt completely at home and would highly recommend this holiday home. We will definitely be back!
AAnonymous UserThis hotel is recommended. Great buffets with variety of options (japanese, western, tempura, wagyu). Fruit taste was not as good as we expected though and you might not feel excited much about the food after a couple days as they’re pretty much the same. Wonderful public baht with generous amenities provided. Pajama is not needed if you enjoy wearing yukata and sock when sleeping at night as we did. Staff were also friendly. We had a great time overall.
GGuest UserI read the mixed reviews and was concerned about my choice, particularly those which highlighted some concerns on the service, etc. Generally, it's an acceptable hotel. We met friendly and very helpful foreign staff who were sincere. I think mainly because all the staff has to multi-task from the front desk to meals etc, they may not appear very attentive. But we had a good experience with the foreign staff so far, particularly Adihadara. I am not sure if I spelt his name correctly. I call him ”Adi” in short. He was eager to help my husband with our luggage and took note of our preference for a table at the window for our meals. The property does appear aged and some apparent wear and tear but their effort to maintain it at this level of general acceptable look and feel is commendable. At the end of our two nights stay, we did have an enjoyable time to chill and relax at the hotel.
AAnonymous UserWe especially liked the warm welcome when we arrived. We were greeted, shown around, taken to our room, and everything was explained to us, which made check-in very easy and comfortable.
The public onsens aren't very big, but they never felt crowded while we were there. There are also some beautiful places to walk nearby.
Both dinner and breakfast were excellent.
AAnitaThe hotel is located mid-mountain, away from the city center. There are public buses from Nikko Station to Kirifuri Plateau, but they run infrequently. When we arrived, pushing our luggage, we didn't consider other options; a taxi would have been the most time-efficient option, costing 800 yen.
The hotel staff were polite and smiling. Since it was only 12:30 PM, they checked us in and stored our luggage, allowing us to walk down the mountain to the city center in just 15 minutes.
The hotel's surroundings are pleasant, while the interior is simple, with a common reading area and a tea room with free chopsticks and bowls. While dinner is not served, there is a large restaurant behind the hotel.
The only drawback is that the open-air bath requires access outside the hotel, making it quite small. Even with 5-6 people inside or outside, it felt cramped. Overall, this hotel was very comfortable and I would definitely stay there again.

I will stay here again
Thank you very much ✨
GGuest UserI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.”
My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away.
Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.
YYong Chuang TngExcept for the excellent location (nearest to Tobu-Nikko Station and the buses stops to various locations and places of interest, the hotel is badly in need of upgrades for it's rooms, facilities and amenities.
The room I stayed in is big (compared to most hotel rooms in Japan) but the toilet seat cover keeps falling down while using it.
Plenty of cobwebs at corners , especially along the corridor.
The bathroom taps is like a 'makeshift' upgrade shared by basin and bathtub. See photo.
Good thing is that I can see upgrading and renovation taking place but seems like it has been going on for a very long time already.
