Beach Hotels in Haikou

I recently stayed at the Sofitel Haikou with my child, and overall, it was a great experience. I frequently visit Haikou because I love Hainanese cuisine. The lounge attendant, a local, was incredibly thoughtful; she recommended many excellent local dishes she had personally tried. The executive lounge's service was also exceptionally attentive and warm. We had a minor issue right before check-out, but it was resolved quickly and to our complete satisfaction. They even helped us with a late check-out. I'll definitely look for her again on my next visit.

Everything went smoothly, from parking upon arrival to check-out. The bellhop proactively assisted with luggage. The room was cleaned promptly every day, and amenities were quickly replenished. The soundproofing at night was decent, so we weren't disturbed. The staff were polite and genuine, not stiff. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

I always look forward to staying here, and my experiences continue to exceed my expectations every time. The hospitality provided by the staff is truly exceptional and creates an inviting atmosphere that makes me feel right at home. I would like to extend a special thank you to Sam and Bruce at the concierge desk. Their attentiveness and dedication to providing outstanding service are remarkable. It’s the small touches and personal interactions that set this place apart, and I am grateful for the consistently high level of service offered by the team.

The room was spacious enough and clean, with good bedding and very comfortable pillows. The bathroom was a bit small, but functional. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of tasty options, and the coffee was good. The front desk staff, especially one young man, was incredibly helpful, assisting with luggage and generally being very accommodating. Overall, they were always willing to help, which I appreciated. The hotel's surroundings are excellent, directly opposite Wanlu Park, and MixC shopping mall is within walking distance. Let me start with the positives. First, the location is excellent, quite close to Qilou Old Street and Haidian Island. Second, the sea view is fantastic, especially for the price. To find such a view in Haikou at this price point is remarkable; otherwise, I wouldn't have chosen this hotel for a second time. Lastly, although the interior facilities are a bit old, the cleanliness is decent, and the room size is quite generous. Now for the negatives. Upon check-in, the front desk informed me that rooms weren't ready in time and asked if I'd accept an 'end room' with a corner window instead of a floor-to-ceiling one, without mentioning any other issues. However, once I entered the room, I found that two slanted pillars obstructed two-thirds of the window. How can they call this a 'sea view room'? I tried to call the front desk using the in-room phone, but no one answered. Ultimately, I had to carry my luggage downstairs to the front desk (the hotel's elevator system is a bit cumbersome, requiring a transfer for higher floors). Once at the front desk, they immediately offered us a different, clean room. I believe such a situation should not occur at an international brand like Hilton.

The hotel is by the sea, so the location is great. The room was big and spacious, although a little damp. It would be perfect if every room had a dehumidifier, and if the staff could dehumidify before guests check in, the stay would be even better! Although it was an ocean view room and I could see the sea, the room's position wasn't ideal, and I was too lazy to go to the front desk to change it. There was just an exposed platform downstairs, not a hotel green area, which was a bit of a mood killer. But I was happy to catch the sunrise around 6 AM, that was a pleasant surprise!

Facilities: Spotlessly clean and uniquely designed, featuring a balcony with beautiful bay views. Changying Global 100 Fantawild Wonderland (First Entry Ticket): The park is a bit far, but if you have some free time, it's worth checking out. The overall environment was pleasant. I went during the off-peak season, which made the price very reasonable. Definitely recommended.

Facilities: Very old, indeed. The elevator is old, the carpet is old, and the room amenities are old. The room is tiny, and there's no place to hang clothes, which is very inconvenient. The phone seems to be just for show. Cleanliness: Decent. Environment: Extremely convenient for getting around, no complaints there, definitely a full score. Service: The service was also very good.

The facilities in the room are very old. It takes 20 minutes to get hot water, and it's not very hot. The air conditioner in the room has no heating function. It's quite cold at night, especially after taking a shower. I covered the quilt with two layers of blankets to keep warm at night. The bathroom is very small. The bed is also hard and not very comfortable. But the view from the balcony is amazing. I stayed there for one night and did exercise and read on the balcony in the morning. It was a great experience.

An excellent choice, quiet, comfortable, uncluttered, and with minimal interaction. Check-in was very quick, and the young man at reception was great, efficient, and friendly. On the way back to the airport, he helped me order a taxi, for which I'm grateful. The big pluses include the view from the window, the ability to run in the mornings and evenings, and the washing machine and refrigerator. They made me feel right at home.
