The JR Haruka is one of the most convenient ways to travel from Kansai Airport to Kyoto Station. It offers a direct rail connection and takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

Conveniently located, spacious rooms, complete dining facilities, good service, but average room cleaning. We chose this hotel located within Kyoto Station for our leisure trip to Kyoto. Overall, the experience was quite good. The room was quite large, and despite facing the train station, the sound insulation was excellent; we could barely hear the sound of vehicles. The daily newspaper delivery was a nice traditional service. For breakfast, there's a buffet restaurant on the 2nd floor and a Japanese set meal on the 3rd floor. We stayed for 3 nights and tried both, each with its unique characteristics. The Japanese breakfast didn't have a huge variety of dishes, but there were three options for rice, and the ritual of cooking the rice on-site was very impressive. Room cleaning was a bit subpar. There were obvious stains on the carpet, and I'm not sure if they couldn't be cleaned or for what reason (Picture 2), but it was unpleasant to look at. A bottle cap left by the previous guest was also not cleaned up (Picture 3), which is unacceptable. When checking out, after paying the taxes, the front desk attendant handed the bill directly to us without an envelope, which felt unprofessional and unfriendly.

I love how clean the hotel is. The interior room design and the advanced toilets were all brilliant. My family and I got the triple room (with 3 beds) and it did not feel cramped at all. The air conditioning and lighting as well as alarms could all be controlled through their iPad. They have daily room cleaning and metal bottles, tea bags, mugs, kettles and a blow dryer. The hotel is also in the downtown location, very convenient to get to popular places. Lastly I love how eco friendly the hotel seems. I am a person who loves to prioritize green. This hotel seems to as well. If I ever come back to Kyoto, I will choose this again.

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's environment is beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, and all the staff were incredibly warm and polite. The overall atmosphere was very relaxing, and the attention to detail made us feel right at home. The hot springs and the hotel's scenery, in particular, are definitely worth experiencing; it was such a blessing to be able to truly relax here during our busy trip. My family thoroughly enjoyed this stay, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely choose to stay here again if we're in the area in the future. Highly recommended!

We booked a triple room, and with three beds, the room was quite compact, but we could still fit our luggage. The hotel is a bit of a distance from the station, but there are two buses an hour to Kyoto Station, which is very convenient, and the location is easy to find. For breakfast, there are two restaurants to choose from. The Japanese one offers a set meal, so we ate at the Western restaurant all three days, which basically met our needs.

The breakfast is really good, with fried shrimp, corn tempura, various breads, shumai, shrimp dumplings, and fried chicken. The fruit selection is also plentiful.

There are also lots of delicious popsicles near the entrance to the baths! The massage chairs are coin-operated and very affordable. This hotel really offers a comprehensive range of amenities, I think it's fantastic! It's also only about 500 meters walk from Kyoto Station. I took these photos myself with my camera. It was a truly value-for-money experience.

This hotel is super convenient, located just a short walk from Kyoto Station's Hachijo West Exit. You exit the station, turn right, take the elevator down, cross the street, and it's right there on your front-right. It's really close to Kyoto Station, and there's an Aeon mall and all sorts of great food options nearby. Plus, you'll pass a 551 HORAI bun shop near the Hachijo West Exit – there's always a line, but it's totally worth it, genuinely delicious! **Check-in:** Although check-in is officially after 3 PM, we arrived at 2:30 PM and were able to check in early. You use an automatic check-in machine, but the front desk staff were very enthusiastic and helped me with the process. **Price:** A standard triple room for two nights, including breakfast for three, cost 1897 RMB in total, which works out to 316 RMB per person per night. We stayed from Saturday to Monday, so it might be even cheaper if you stay on weekdays. **Room:** It was a standard triple room, 20 square meters, with two 1.1-meter single beds and one 1-meter sofa bed. The room size was a little on the small side, but still manageable. It had a window, but it couldn't be opened. Since it opened in 2020, the facilities are still quite new. The faucet in the bathroom provides potable water, which is drinkable directly. Note that disposable items like toothbrushes aren't included in the room; you need to pick them up from the lobby downstairs. There's a kettle in the room, which was great for my parents to make tea. They also provide pajamas, so you can pack fewer clothes. The control panel by the window can be set to Chinese, making it more user-friendly. The soundproofing in the room is excellent; even though it's near Kyoto Station, you can't hear any outside noise, making it very quiet. **Breakfast:** Served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. If your room includes breakfast, you'll receive breakfast coupons upon check-in. If you buy it separately, it's 2200 yen per person. The variety is decent, and the taste is quite good. They even have self-serve cold udon with a good selection of condiments, tasting just like what you'd get outside. **Luggage Storage:** Since we had another itinerary early on our third day and needed to store our luggage, there's a dedicated room downstairs for free self-service luggage storage. You can secure each piece of luggage with a combination lock, making it very safe.

Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo – Review The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to Kyoto Station, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. It is a very large hotel, and we found the room spacious and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. However, the bathroom was a little small and dated. There was no complimentary bottled drinking water in the room, and although water dispensers may be available, this was less convenient for us. We ended up buying large bottles of water from a nearby convenience store. The hotel can get quite busy, and there was sometimes a bit of a wait for the lifts in the morning. There is also a launderette nearby, although unfortunately, we only discovered it on our last night! Overall, the hotel has a very convenient location and plenty of amenities nearby, making it a practical base for exploring Kyoto. However, some aspects of the facilities could do with an update to make the stay more comfortable.

This hotel is just a short walk from Karasuma Oike subway station, and about a 10-15 minute walk (roughly one kilometer) to Shijo Kawaramachi for shopping. Yet, the hotel itself is located on a quiet side street off a main road, offering a peaceful environment amidst the bustle. The soundproofing is excellent, making it perfect for light sleepers who need quiet. While the rooms are small, like many in Japan, the layout is well-designed; you can easily open two large suitcases. There's a 7-Eleven and a 24-hour Fresco supermarket just steps from the hotel, which is a huge plus. The front desk service was fantastic and super friendly, and communication in English was incredibly smooth. I needed to change a restaurant reservation, but the restaurant only spoke Japanese, making it difficult to communicate. The front desk staff were very patient and efficiently helped me sort it out—much appreciated!. The lobby offers complimentary coffee and tea, along with a co-working area. Overall, it's great value for money and a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

This is my third time staying at this hotel, and I really love it! Location: It's near the business district, so shopping is convenient, and it's also close to the Kamo River, but not too noisy. A taxi from Kyoto Station to the hotel costs about 2000 JPY. Service: Absolutely excellent! Every time, I ask the hotel to book bicycles, which is super convenient for cycling around Kyoto. This time, three of us were traveling with a lot of luggage. When we checked out, the front desk attendant even helped us book a taxi and waved goodbye as we left. The service is incredibly thoughtful. Facilities: This time, we stayed in a triple room. The room design is excellent; the toilet and bathroom are separate, allowing three people to use them without disturbing each other for toilet breaks, washing faces, or showering, avoiding any waiting. (The pictures are of a coffee shop and a tonkatsu restaurant near the hotel – both are delicious!) I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto!

This hotel was the highlight of our Japan trip. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the facilities were extensive and well-maintained. The lobby is on the 9th floor, as is the free onsen, which also offers complimentary drinks. Plus, every day from 4 PM to 6:30 PM, you can get a free drink at the top-floor bar, which boasts amazing views. Our room wasn't huge, but it was fully equipped and very clean. I was particularly impressed by a male staff member at the front desk and a female staff member at the top-floor bar – they were both incredibly nice. If I ever visit Kyoto again, I will definitely choose this hotel.

The best part was the breakfast – a huge variety, with the sashimi rice and tempura being absolutely delicious. Plus, there were so many other side dishes, it was incredibly good value! Every evening, they also offer free ramen and popsicles. Having one after a hot spring soak was super refreshing. There are also beer and cocktail options (you need to top up a QR code at the front desk). The room was a bit small and felt a little stuffy, but it didn't have any strange smells, so overall it was alright. All in all, I highly recommend this place, especially if you're visiting during the off-peak season!
