Hotel Keihan Kyoto Grande

Super convenient, very close to Kyoto Station. The front desk offers complimentary mineral water and Sekkisei skincare products – just help yourself!

The hotel is conveniently located directly across from JR Kyoto Station, making it super easy to find. The room size was decent, especially for the king-size bed I booked, which I really liked. It's incredibly convenient for getting around, particularly for JR lines – no need to rush at all. The absolute highlight was the breakfast! There was such a wide variety, including sushi 🍣, various alcoholic beverages, cheese, salads, and grilled meats. The restaurant faces the station, so I highly recommend opting for breakfast – it's excellent value, and the sushi was delicious. The service was great too, and the lobby offers complimentary water and even Sekkisei cosmetics, which was an amazing bonus!

It's hard to put into words. The hotel is very close to Kyoto Station, which is convenient for getting around. However, the facilities are quite old. The staff's attitude was pretty standard, neither warm nor cold. But the Trip.com concierge and complaints department were excellent, really great!

The hotel's location is great, right near Kyoto Station, but following Google Maps can be a bit confusing as you have to go through B2. The room was quite spacious and very clean. The breakfast, in particular, was fantastic with a wide variety of choices and excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

The hotel room was spacious for Japan, and the location was excellent with convenient transportation. Our tour bus stopped right opposite the hotel entrance, and the bus to Daigo-ji Temple was also by the side entrance. There was even an airport bus stop right in front of the hotel, which was incredibly convenient.

Major Red Flag! Avoid! Pros: Very close to Kyoto Station. However, there are tons of hotels around Kyoto Station, so you can easily choose another one. Cons: The room was so small you couldn't even open a suitcase. Outside the window was an equipment platform that hummed 24/7. I tried to switch rooms, and I had to deal with several different staff members, each with their own story, all of them emotionless. Basically, they wouldn't let me switch unless I paid extra. I specifically requested a quiet room when booking, but the front desk claimed this room was the quietest?! Apparently, rooms facing other directions had street racers at night, so I guess this hotel just doesn't have any quiet rooms. The toilet flush made an indescribable noise, and the bathroom had a terrible odor, smelling really bad. The bathtub was so small you could only sit in it. The soundproofing was also terrible; I could clearly hear conversations in the hallway next door. Breakfast was very mediocre too. It's rare for a hotel to have so many downsides. In short, do not choose this place!
