Guangzhou is famous for its delicious dim sum and bustling shopping districts, but did you know you can also enjoy a snow-filled adventure here?

Despite the city's warm climate throughout the year, indoor skiing and winter-themed attractions have become increasingly popular.

From indoor ski slopes to ice-and-snow amusement parks in shopping malls and entertainment complexes, there are plenty of ways to experience a taste of winter without leaving Guangzhou.

Join Trip.com as we explore the best places to go skiing, play in the snow and enjoy a cool escape from the city's tropical heat!

Guangzhou's Passionate Miracle(formerly Guangzhou Sunac Snow World)

For an indoor skiing experience in Guangzhou, Guangzhou Rexue Qiji is one of the key attractions to check out.

Located in Huadu District, this large indoor snow park has welcomed visitors since 2019, offering a winter-themed escape from the city's warm weather.

The resort is split into two main areas: a Snow Play Zone for fun-filled activities and a Skiing Zone for those who want to hit the slopes.

Whether you're trying snow activities for the first time or already have some skiing experience, there's something here for different ages and skill levels.

Guangzhou's Passionate Miracle

The Snow Play Zone is designed for visitors who want to enjoy a winter wonderland without putting on skis. It features six themed attractions, including snow tubing, ice bumper cars, colourful ice sculptures and the exciting “Glacier Leap” activity.

With a mix of interactive experiences and photo-worthy sights, it's a great choice for families, children and anyone looking to have fun in the snow.

For those eager to ski, the Skiing Zone offers five slopes with different levels of difficulty. Beginners can start on the Little Bear slope, which has a gentle 7° gradient and measures 76 metres long.

When you're ready to progress, the Snow Rabbit and Elk runs provide a step up in difficulty. More experienced skiers can take on the Tiger slope, which extends 243 metres and features a steeper 22° gradient, offering a more demanding experience for intermediate and advanced visitors.

Guangzhou's Passionate Miracle

Another advantage is that Guangzhou Rexue Qiji is located within Guangzhou Sunac Culture & Tourism City, a large entertainment and leisure complex with plenty to explore beyond the snow park.

You can spend time at Sunac Land, cool off at Sunac Water World, browse the shopping mall or unwind at one of the themed hotels nearby.

With so many attractions in one place, it's easy to plan a relaxing 2-day, 1-night getaway packed with fun activities, shopping and entertainment, without spending too much time travelling between destinations.

Grandview Penguin Ice and Snow World

For a snowy escape right in the heart of Guangzhou, head to Grandview Penguin Ice and Snow World, located inside Grandview Mall in Tianhe District.

Opened in early 2023, this indoor winter attraction may be smaller than Sunac Snow Park, but its creative design and convenient city-centre location make it well worth a visit. One of its biggest highlights is the chance to see real penguins up close!

Watching these adorable birds waddle around is a memorable experience for both adults and children. Depending on the available programme, visitors may also have opportunities to take part in special penguin encounters, making this a fun addition to a family outing or shopping trip in Guangzhou.

Grandview Penguin Ice and Snow World

While Grandview Penguin Ice and Snow World doesn't offer traditional skiing, there's still plenty to keep visitors entertained.

Attractions include a lengthy slide covered in real snow, a zone where you can experience artificial snowfall, an ice-sculpture display perfect for photos, and hands-on snow activities for all ages.

It's an excellent choice for families with children or anyone hoping to enjoy a taste of winter without committing to a full day at a ski resort. Located in central Guangzhou, it's also easy to combine a visit with nearby shopping, dining and sightseeing for a fun half-day outing.

The platform's discounts make it worthwhile to enjoy snow fun with the kids! Although the ice skating area has uneven surfaces and melting ice, the key point is that there's no time limit, so you can go snow fun after ice skating and not want to leave!

Zhengjia Penguin Snow World is definitely worth a visit, suitable for families, friends, couples, and more for taking photos and having fun. There are 8-10 penguins active and swimming in the penguin area; simply watching them move is quite entertaining. The snow world has several beautiful photo spots (such as a giant snowman, snow deer, a wishing tree, sled benches, and a giant heart covered with messages of love). In addition, there are three slides for playing and a live deer feeding area for families to feed and take photos.

The place isn't very big, and there aren't many attractions. But the penguin parade was truly amazing and great value for money.

Snow Flurry Ice and Snow World

Inspired by China’s famous Snow Town, this winter-themed attraction brings the charm of Northeast China to Guangzhou through intricate ice sculptures and realistic snowy landscapes.

The exhibition features a variety of carefully crafted scenes, including a snow sculpture of the Potala Palace and artworks inspired by Harbin’s renowned ice-and-snow attractions.

Visitors can enjoy classic winter activities such as ice skating, making snowmen, and having snowball fights, alongside unique experiences like simulated skiing on “Mount Everest”.

Fairy-tale courtyards and rustic Snow Town-style log cabins add to the charm, creating plenty of picturesque corners to explore. Although it’s relatively compact, the attraction offers a fun outing for families and a great spot for memorable winter-themed photos.
