"This guesthouse has a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere! The owner is incredibly hospitable. I made a last-minute booking and completely forgot my makeup (oops!), but the owner was kind enough to let me use her high-end cosmetics. The room layouts and designs are fantastic. They offer various room types – from king/queen rooms to standard rooms and suites – catering to the diverse needs of vacationers. The owner has two courtyards that can accommodate around 30 guests, and there's also a professional meeting room. This makes it particularly well-suited for family reunions and corporate team-building events. Highly recommended! I'd definitely consider booking out the entire place for a private gathering sometime."

Kkanasi _Frank099999I booked the Jingxin B&B, but I actually stayed at the Cuihua B&B. I said it belonged to his uncle’s family (it might have been resold, it’s all from the same village). I ordered it online, and I could use it. smell. For breakfast, I ate farm-style millet porridge, fried zucchini and steamed buns with pickled vegetables, 15 yuan per person (not recommended for those who have not eaten farm food). I live on the first floor, near the restaurant. There are a bunch of people making skewers at night, which is a bit noisy. The store is very enthusiastic, experience a car pick-up and drop-off (electric three-wheeled). The words are in place, and the service is nothing to say. It is recommended for people who let their minds go to experience it.

Ffapp7The hotel is located pretty much at the entrance of Gubei Watertown. It is not quite a hotel, it’s more like an airbnb.
We couldn’t find the front desk so we had to call to service. He picked us up where we were standing and walked us to the room. If you don’t speak Chinese you may try to use WeChat and chat with them.
The room was a 2 floors apartment, with a little balcony with view to the Great Wall. It is a pretty standard room.
Advice to bring your shampoo and soap, the products in the shower were smelling super bad.
Around the building there are some food options and also a little grocery store.

**The landlord is super nice**: contacted us in advance to help with the parking space, which is very close to the room, and also recommended a panoramic photo spot for the best photos of the water town scenic area, which is very photogenic~
**Room details**: The room is clean and tidy without odor, uses brand shower gel, and provides disposable toilet mats.

GGuest UserI came to Huairou with my friends during the winter vacation and booked this B&B. It's called a B&B, but it's more like a combination of a hotel and a party hall. Each room has the hotel's hygiene standards, and toiletries, disposable slippers, towels, bath towels, and floor towels are all equipped. Because there are eight of us, we chose this four-bedroom room. The overall stay is very good. There is a bar, a pool table and a table tennis table on the third floor. It will be very warm at noon. There is a KTV and mahjong room on the second floor, which allows us to have free entertainment facilities. In short, this B&B experience is very good and I recommend it to everyone~

FFengfupiaofangAfter a 3-hour train journey, we finally arrived at Gubei Water Town. This villa, located just outside the scenic area, was much better than we expected. It offered exceptional value for money, with high-quality rooms at a very affordable price. The outdoor environment was equally stunning. From the balcony during the day, we enjoyed views of blue skies and white clouds, and at breakfast, we could watch the sunrise through the balcony window. Inside, the decor was very elegant. Every detail, from the wall hangings, curtains, and table lamps, to the small cabinet leading to the balcony and even the table runners, contributed to a cozy yet artistic ambiance. They also paid attention to family-friendly details, providing a tent, a small slide with steps in the outdoor yard, and round tables and chairs both in the yard and on the balcony. Ordering takeout was also very convenient. In the evening, we enjoyed the night view from across the way; the highest, continuous stream of lights must have been the Simatai Great Wall. The nights were incredibly quiet. I even extended my stay by another night, and honestly, if I didn't have to head back for the weekend, I would have gladly stayed for several more days.

HHannah Lauren Bond- The location is excellent. It is just round the corner from Gubei Water Town. A two minute walk to the entrance hall.
- The service was good. The staff added us on WeChat and were very quick to respond to messages and queries. One stand out moment for us was when our food was 2 hours late from a local restaurant. I was struggling to communicate with the restaurant because my Chinese is not very good. Staff reached out on our behalf and sorted the issue for us.
- Cleanliness was OK. The sheets on the bed felt lovely and clean, but the apartment was not spotless. The shower had some black mould, and the floor in the kitchen felt sticky.
- The apartment itself had some pros. My son absolutely loved all the toys and the slides. It made his experience very enjoyable.
- Plenty of towels, toiletries provided.
However
- The shower leaked constantly. Every time we used the shower the bathroom would become flooded - which was a slipping hazard for my son.
- The curtains are very thin. Every morning we were woken up to a bright light streaming through the windows. This meant that my son’s sleep was not great. We did contact the staff about this. They used sellotape to stick up some bedsheets on the windows, but this fell down within minutes! We appreciate the efforts though.
- We would have felt better if there was a stair gate. As this is an apartment aimed at families, a stair gate would be good for safety.
- Limited cutlery is provided. We were given some disposable chopsticks. However very few cooking utensils / no children’s cutlery. Bring your own if you want to cook. :)
- There was only once choice of breakfast - which was not to our personal taste. Would be good if 2 or three options were provided. There is a lovely bakery around the corner and we enjoyed buying our breakfast from there for the remainder of the trip.

XXiaotaiyangxiaIt is very convenient to travel by car with the elderly, children and dogs. It is located halfway up the mountain next to Gubei Water Town. The housekeeper registered the car in advance, so the car can be parked directly downstairs. The room is large and comfortable, and the children are also very happy.

GGuest UserI spent 3 weekdays at MingTang LinShui Inn, right next to Gubei Water Town, and had a great stay. The host doesn’t speak English but was very kind, helpful, and welcoming throughout my visit.
The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Gubei Water Town is within walking distance—while there's an entrance fee to explore the old quarter, the surrounding area is also peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing stroll.
Just a note: weekends can get crowded, and there may be some noise from nearby night events. But on weekdays, it's quiet, calm, and truly a lovely escape. Highly recommend for a peaceful weekday getaway!

JJingjing JennyThis is my fourth time to Gubei, but it is my first time to stay outside the scenic area. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the hotels in the scenic area are not cost-effective. After choosing and choosing, I chose this two-story loft villa with a courtyard, which is suitable in terms of evaluation, room type, distance and price.
The front desk lady and the housekeeper uncle are very enthusiastic. They contacted in advance and provided thoughtful services. The room is clean and hygienic. I have to say that if there is no need to go in and out of the scenic area many times, staying in this Nordic forest holiday villa very close to the scenic area is indeed a very good choice.
For the needs of traveling with elderly people and children, compared with the scenic area hotel, the advantages here are: 1. There are microwave ovens, refrigerators, induction cookers, and you can cook with your own ingredients, and there is no problem heating milk for children. 2. The space is large, with a living room, kitchen, dining room and a small courtyard downstairs, and two bedrooms, bathrooms and a children's tent area upstairs, which fully meet the needs of eating and resting independently when traveling with elderly people and children. 3. The scenic spots in the scenic area are relatively repeated. Climbing the Simatai Great Wall at night is enough to visit the scenic area from noon to night.
If I come again next time, I will choose here again
