Samesun Venice Beach
"The location is perfect. They ask for a credit/debit card when checking in. Kitchen is closed from 10pm to 7:30am. It’s also comfy to get there by bus from the airport and to get by bus/metro with connections to almost anywhere. They also are ok if you’ll aborder a package in the lobby. Room is sweet and has a shower. Beds are with curtains. There’re shelves and sockets in each bed. Hostel provides towels and shampoo/body wash and conditioners. Lockers are small, so the suitcase won’t fit, but it’s okay for valuables. Breakfast consists of bagels, toast bread, granola bars, oranges, tea, instant oats and butter. There’s only fridge, no freezer. Target/trader’s Joe is where Santa Monica is. Hostel has a wending machine with snacks and there’s a small grocery in the next building. The only thing is that I lived there for 3 days and rooms wasn’t cleaned (floor and bins). It caused full bins and dusty floor. All other hostels I stayed in, cleaned every day."
Venice V Hotel
"Very expensive. The hotel is tiny, a small business, and has nothing. Not worth staying at."
Stay Open Venice Beach
"This business caused a lot of difficulty for me and my daughter. She was waiting for another hostel to open up for a longer term rental, and needed a place to stay for a couple of nights. As a result of the incompetence of Stay Open, however, she ended up with all of her things outside at 5PM and not having a place to go. I had booked the bed through ***********. After receiving notifications that the booking was all set, they suddently cancelled it. The stated reason was unclear. Something about multiple names being used? Their website had NO PHONE NUMBER. Red flag #1. I had to write them via *********** and the next day received a call back from a "David," presumably the owner. He stated they don't allow people to make reservations for others. Yet his website and *********** listing fail to communicate that. Moreover, *********** offers a box to tick stating that this reservation is for another person, with a place to put in the name, which I did! When I told David this, he said essentially said that's Booking.com's (and apparently my) problem. David also said something about various names and credit card numbers being used for the reservation. My name has been the same for 67 years and the name on my credit card has been the same since I started using credit cards in my 20s. My daughter does have a nickname, which I put right after her first name name in parentheses, inside the box provided by *********** for when one person is booking for another. David could have called or written to me to resolve the issue, but instead he just cancelled the reservation, with no regard for how it affected us. To add insult to injury, I still have a charge on my credit card from them. David's excuse: it's "automatic" and banks take time to return the money. Double insult to injury: after all his nonsense excuses, he had the nerve to tell me we can't make reservations with them again. Is he kidding? I have to wonder which business school he went to where insulting customers is considered a good idea. I would never recommend this business to anyone, and I'd be wary of *********** too, as they obviously list any business they can get, with no vetting."
Venice Suites
"The hotel is located right on the beach, a very good location. I did not have enough bottle of water upon arrival and there were no glasses. Parking is paid."
Hotel Erwin Venice Beach
"Muscle beach is just behind the hotel. Quality of the beds are great. Staffs are amazing."
Lincoln Inn
"Pretty nice stay, was there for 2 nights with friends, it was clean, pretty close to the beach, would recommend having conditioners in the shower, the area has some homeless population."
Air Venice on the Beach
"The room was great, clean, spacious and really comfortable. There was a fridge and a floor length mirror. There was a bar of soap but no body wash provided which would have been nice. We had lovely views even without the "full ocean view". The hotel is right on the beach and has a couple of awesome options for food and drinks nearby. The area felt very safe at night and all the staff were very friendly. Check in was a little slow and the lift is a little slow but overall we had an excellent stay and would come here again."
Su Casa at Venice Beach
"Location is key for this beachfront property. Our room has 2 large windows facing the ocean. Short drive to Santa Monica. Restaurant downstairs, Fig tree, serves great breakfast. The mattress and pillows are a bit too firm to be comfortable. Parking overnight is not cheap around here."
