4-Star Hotels in Amsterdam

The room was quite spacious and very clean, with a nice river view. Check-in at the front desk was super fast. There was even a welcome card from the housekeeping staff on the desk, which was a really thoughtful touch. It's about a 15-minute walk from the central station, making it very convenient to take the train for dining out. The only minor downside was that the dry area in the bathroom didn't have a drain (a common issue in Western Europe, perhaps?). If water splashed out during a shower, the floor would stay wet...

The hotel is pretty good, clean and tidy. It's across from a park, but the location is a bit out of the way, and the bed was too small. The breakfast was plentiful, and dinner was delicious. The front desk staff were professional, and you can always count on a big brand. 😊

Very good location ... Just a few train stops from Schiphol Airport to reach Sloterdijk Station. Few minutes walk from here to hotel. Transportation hub is just right in front of hotel. Flixbus stops is also 5mins away from hotel.. Super convenient with a mini mart n as well as some eateries around the corner. More choices avaliable if venture further out.. Spacious n clean room. Clean n fresh towels. Daily housekeeping. Comfy bed with pillows abit soft though.. No AC but a air cooling system. Provided a table fan during this super hot summer trip. A complete kitchenette with a new set of cleaning set provided. Water dispenser is located at the lobby. Laundry room is at 1st floor. €4 per usage. It comes with a detergent capsule. Required a deposit of €100 upon check in. Friendly staff but lack of manpower at times. Mostly with 1 staff at reception desk. With 1staff around, we nearly missed our bus to Brussels just to wait for staff to retrieve our stored luggage... No toiletries n indoor slippers provided unless upon request. No hair conditioner or body lotion as well. Just a 2 in 1 body n hair shampoo is used... With a rating of a 4* hotel, it should do better Overall had a satisfactory stay n experience

Great location, close to the train station and the city's main attractions. There's a tram stop nearby, and you can be in the museum district in just 10 minutes. We were able to check in earlier than expected, and the room looked just like the pictures. It was clean, but very basic – no slippers or tissues. This is the first time I've stayed in a 4-star hotel room without cups (just glasses) and teaspoons (just wooden stirrers). Instant coffee in the room for a 4-star hotel is pretty underwhelming; usually, at this level, you get pour-over coffee or a Nespresso machine. The price is high, but for the same money, you'd get a much higher standard in a 4-star hotel in neighboring Belgium.

We arrived and were told we could check in at 2 PM. We went into town, and when we returned around 3:30 PM, the room still hadn't been cleaned. Luckily, we received two complimentary drinks as compensation. Once in the room, we found the curtain was broken, leaving a gap where light streamed in. The TV by the bathtub wasn't working, and the shower kept fluctuating between hot and cold. We reported these issues in the late afternoon, and someone was supposedly coming to fix them. We went out again and returned after a couple of hours, only to find the curtain still broken. We went back to reception, but the maintenance team had already left. Since we didn't want to be woken up by light, a staff member eventually went to try and fix it themselves, but unfortunately, they couldn't. Despite these unpleasant circumstances, I would still recommend the hotel. It's a nice hotel, but the staff aren't always as efficient as they could be.

We had a great time in this related environment, great breakfast, location and the room with canal view was excellent. The hotel offers a free drink token in exchange for not having your room cleaned.

Furthermore, during this interaction, two members of your staff spoke to me in Dutch in what appeared to be an abusive and mocking manner. Although I do not understand Dutch, their tone, gestures, and overall behaviour were intimidating, disrespectful, and deeply humiliating. No guest should ever be treated in such a degrading way. The second issue concerns my food delivery. I had ordered food late at night, and it was left at the reception. When I went to collect it a few hours later, I was informed that the food had been thrown away. I was never contacted, no attempt was made to inform me that my order had arrived, and no explanation was provided as to why my personal property had been discarded. This is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a shocking lack of respect for guests and their belongings. The combination of these incidents reflects an alarming lack of professionalism, respect for guest privacy, and basic customer service standards. I expect the following: 1. A formal investigation into the conduct of the staff involved. 2. A written explanation as to why my room was entered against my explicit instructions. 3. An explanation as to why my food delivery was disposed of without my consent or any attempt to contact me. 4. An apology addressing the unacceptable treatment I experienced. 5. This is a pretty standard luxury hotel, with no major issues. There's a mini-fridge, but it's not cold enough and doesn't come stocked with anything. However, the umbrella is a high-end carbon fiber one, which is quite rare and a nice touch. The bathroom drain had a bit of a problem, probably a clog from hair that needs to be cleaned promptly. My biggest issue, though, was the front desk – they were incredibly slow! Especially during check-out. I've never seen a hotel where you have to wait in line one by one; usually, you just leave your room card and go.

The hotel isn't in the city center, but getting around by metro is super convenient, and Amsterdam isn't a huge city anyway. It's a 5-minute walk from the metro station, and the path is pretty flat, which is great when you're dragging luggage. (Picture 1 shows the view from the metro exit.) Rooms are cleaned daily. There aren't any individual shampoo, conditioner, or toothbrushes, just a single shower gel, but that's pretty standard for European hotels. The pillows are quite high but not hard; I found them easy to sink into and comfortable. The Wi-Fi speed was good most of the time. I couldn't find an on/off switch for the air conditioning, only temperature adjustments. The motion-sensor light in the bathroom was a bit funny – it would go dark after a few minutes! The staff were friendly and efficient. Other than check-in, check-out, and storing luggage, I didn't interact with them much. Luggage storage is free, which is a nice perk. After checking out, there's a restroom, sofa, and charging ports on the ground floor, which is perfect for a quick refresh before heading to the airport. There aren't many restaurants nearby, so it's a good idea to eat before heading back. Although the room isn't huge, the bed is small and the layout is well-designed, making it surprisingly functional. We could open two large suitcases at once. Overall, it's quite similar to a budget hotel back home, but prices are bound to vary due to location, especially during tulip season when they definitely go up. For the price, it's still decent value for money.

We just spent three nights at Chasse Residency Hotel as a family with three children, and we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we felt welcome from arrival to departure. The location was really good with easy access to public transport, making it simple to get around Amsterdam. The room had plenty of space for us, and the small kitchen facilities were a huge advantage when traveling with children. All in all, we had a really great stay and would definitely recommend Chasse Residency Hotel to other families looking for a quiet and comfortable base for a visit to Amsterdam.
