"Absolutely fantastic! From the moment you step inside, you can tell it's a guesthouse with a great artistic vibe. We traveled during the off-peak season, so parking right outside was incredibly easy. The rooftop view is amazing, and the tatami bed was super comfortable to sleep on. The soundproofing in the room is also excellent. There were five of us, and having two sinks in the room was really convenient and clean. The shower and toilet were also separate, which was great. I'm not much of a photographer, so I didn't take many pictures, but the room truly is beautiful. The basement level is a coffee shop, and I imagine taking photos there while having afternoon tea would turn out wonderfully! Since I had my child with me, I just took my drink back to the room. Next time, I'll definitely come without the kids! Service: The front desk staff were incredibly kind and gentle. When we checked out, we had a small issue with the key card due to our own mistake, but they patiently helped us resolve it, allowing us to end our trip on a perfect note."

"The hotel room was spacious and bright, with soft and comfortable bedding. The king-size bed (2-meter) was incredibly comfortable to sleep in, and you could even see Xinghai Square from the room. The room facilities were also very complete, including a smart toilet and electric curtains. Housekeeping kept the room very clean, and the cleaning lady was kind and friendly. The front desk service was attentive and always ready to help. Highly recommend! 👍🏻"

"The room is great, and the location is excellent. It's a high-rise hotel with free parking. I was on a solo road trip, and parking in the deep underground garage was a bit daunting at first, but after the first time, I realized it was quite simple. Plus, you don't need to re-enter your details every time, which is very convenient. The hotel room is on a very high floor. I couldn't appreciate it yesterday due to the heavy fog, but this morning, the view facing the pier is fantastic. Being a high-rise hotel, the surrounding area is very lively, with plenty of late-night food stalls and bathhouses not far away. It's clearly a very central location, highly recommended!"

They thoughtfully assigned a quiet room for my child who was taking an exam, and it was indeed very peaceful. Being so close to Xinghai Beach was a game-changer—I loved starting my mornings with a stroll on the sand. The hotel itself felt really welcoming, with cozy rooms that made me feel right at home. The staff were really friendly, always ready to chat or offer tips on what to see in the area. There's usually sojourners who can speak English to help international tourists. It was the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring. I’m already planning my next visit!

It's within walking distance to Discoveryland, and you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach. If you prefer to stay put, there's plenty of sand for digging right by the hotel. The hotel's own playground and pool kept the kids entertained for hours. It's a great choice for a relaxing, slow-paced vacation.

Hhrk0410I visited with my children for a hot spring trip. It was very cold outside, but as soon as we entered the hotel lobby, it felt incredibly warm. Ms. LIA was truly wonderful. She arranged a comfortable, child-friendly room for us and promptly delivered all the necessities we requested. Since it was our first time here and we weren't familiar with the area, she also recommended some fantastic restaurants near Gastein, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The hot springs were so relaxing and warming, and the breakfast was excellent too. This is definitely a place I'd love to visit again. Thank you so much!

YYugutouThe hotel is good. We upgraded to a twin room when we brought our children. The back door of the hotel leads directly to Xinghai Park, which is very convenient. However, I don’t know if the sign at the hotel door represents the hotel. We made a phone call to book a one-day trip to Lushun for convenience. We agreed that the small group of 10 people was actually a large group of 20+ people. The previous communication mainly required visiting three attractions. As a result, After getting on the bus, we collected 1,300. In the end, we didn't go to any of these three attractions. It felt like a wasted day (they even took us to the Snake House, which included shopping). Please be careful to avoid pitfalls.

AAFANGAFANGThis stay was absolutely perfect! I initially booked for one night just to try it out, but after that first night, I extended my stay for three more. The hotel's location is excellent, right in Dalian's city center with convenient transportation. It's about a 10-minute walk from the train station following the navigation, but it's not directly facing the station square, so the environment is quite pleasant. The hotel is surrounded by a vibrant commercial district and dining options, with many large shopping malls. Tianjin Street is just a few dozen meters away, and the Lantern Festival celebrations there were so lively during the Chinese New Year. Zhongshan Square is less than a 10-minute walk away. On my first night, I couldn't wait to see Zhongshan Square lit up at dusk – it was freezing in winter, so there weren't many people on the large square, but the light show was incredibly beautiful. Russian Street is also within walking distance. For Dongguan Street and Xi'an Street, they're not far from the hotel, and you can easily get there by taking an old tram. In short, it's convenient to get anywhere from here. Hotel service quality: The main reception is on the 16th floor. The front desk staff were warm, thoughtful, and very friendly. Check-in was quick, and they even upgraded my room – wonderful! I especially want to thank Mr. Wang Tao; he answered all my questions with great patience. It was quite a coincidence that he was the one who assisted me with both check-in and check-out. The hotel is bright and clean, very tasteful, and fully equipped with comfortable bedding and excellent hygiene. The dining options are diverse. I particularly recommend their free laundry service. This hotel is definitely worth recommending to friends visiting Dalian.

AAnonymous UserFirst, the pros: 1. The sea view from the room is unbeatable. Lying in bed and watching the sea was incredibly relaxing. 2. The location is great. You can just walk downstairs and stroll around Xinghai Square, and the elevator offers a panoramic view of the entire square. 3. The service was decent. Most requests were met, but there were still some areas where they fell short. Cons: 1. The facilities are a bit dated. The shower water fluctuated between hot and cold, and the shower faucet was so confusing – it took me ages to figure it out by trial and error. It was also incredibly stiff and hard to turn, and I was worried about breaking it, which was a hassle. 2. The breakfast selection was too limited and felt quite perfunctory. The taste was just average. There wasn't even a coffee machine in the room. For 2000 a night during the May Day holiday, these facilities simply don't justify the price. 3. The windows were too dirty, which really impacted the beauty of my photos. 4. You have to go downstairs yourself to pick up food deliveries. As for luggage, they only helped us take it from the car to the front desk, not up to the room. 5. The parking in front of the lobby was chaotic. Some cars were blocking the entrance, and our taxi was stuck outside and couldn't get in. The security staff didn't do a good job of directing vehicles. Overall, it's a very average five-star hotel standard. It's definitely not worth 2000/day; it's more like a 1000-level hotel. The sea view premium probably accounts for a large portion of the room rate.

After booking the room, I was worried it might be a 'photo trap,' but once I arrived, I found it completely exceeded my expectations. All the photos I've shared are real, unedited shots. The view outside the window is indeed breathtaking. Due to the angle, watching the sunrise while lying down is a bit of a challenge 😂, but standing up does the trick. The sunrise over the sea is absolutely stunning! The room temperature was also perfectly warm, so even though I encountered snowy weather, I was able to watch the sunrise comfortably without freezing. Honestly, just looking out at the blue sea from the window is incredibly beautiful. I don't think there's any need to go to those trendy cafes; sitting on the balcony offers the best mountain and sea views. The service was also great. Luggage handling and cleaning were all fine. The housekeeper noticed I asked about breakfast times and mentioned I might not be able to get up early, so the next day, they brought it directly to my room. Personally, I don't see any downsides. This room type is a bit small, but it's perfectly sufficient for one person. One minor suggestion: it would be great to have a laundry basket. The clothes hangers are made of rope, which looks very artistic and nice, but women usually have more clothes, so there weren't quite enough hangers.

GGuest UserThe free extra bed for children in the Horizon Club was a huge plus; the room was spacious enough that it didn't feel cramped even with the added bed. However, during the May Day holiday, the Horizon Club canceled its à la carte breakfast, which felt a bit disingenuous. I specifically booked the Horizon Club for that, thinking the main restaurant would be crowded during the holiday, and I could enjoy a nice, quiet breakfast in the executive lounge. But without the à la carte option, the small buffet spread at the self-service counter felt incredibly basic. After grabbing some bread with my child, I ended up going down to the main restaurant to queue. Overall, the Horizon Club is still worth it. It seems like it might have been recently renovated? The room facilities felt quite new, not old as some online reviews suggested. It also includes a simple dinner, which is great for seniors or children with sensitive stomachs. The late check-out was also very useful. Speaking of the Shangri-La itself, the hotel's location is excellent for reaching many highly-rated restaurants on Dazhong Dianping, most within walking distance (under 1 km). However, there aren't many eateries right downstairs within 100 meters. If you're up for it, you can walk to Donggang. The hotel pool is also very nice and looked clean. The women's changing room even has two hot tubs, and I confirmed with a cleaning lady (when I happened to catch them changing the water at closing time) that these are refilled daily. The main restaurant's breakfast is quite rich, but it gets extremely crowded, and the seating is very cramped. During the May Day holiday, there was a queue, but staff were on hand to guide guests, so the order was maintained. The overall service level at the hotel is good, and the holiday surcharge wasn't too outrageous. Other hotels nearby, like 'Mou Duo Mou Ji,' were well over a thousand, so the old five-star still offers better value.
