The location is very close to the subway station, convenient for shopping across from Guanqian Street, and a short stroll to Pingjiang Road. All the staff I encountered greeted me, and I even received a souvenir when I left. Overall, it was a very good experience."

"## Review **Location & Transportation:** The hotel is conveniently located about 2.3 kilometers from Suzhou Station. A taxi ride takes about 5-6 minutes if there's no traffic. If you don't have much luggage, you can also take two subway stops from the high-speed rail station to Chayuanfang Station and walk approximately 500 meters from Exit 2. The old town area of Suzhou is not very large, and with the hotel situated in its center, all major attractions and food streets are within 3-4 kilometers. Some places are even within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient. **Hotel Decor & Facilities:** 1. The hotel lobby is spacious with high ceilings, providing an open and uncrowded feel. Walking in with luggage, it completely lacks the stiff atmosphere of traditional business hotels. To the left of the lobby is Birdie Bean coffee, which is quite good! 2. The waiting area for check-in/check-out is small, and the sofas are often full. To rest and wait, you have to go to a small cubicle directly opposite the main entrance, which is quite far from the front desk. The circulation design and area division are not very reasonable. 3. Inside the elevator, delicate flamingo embroideries adorn the bright yellow walls, creating a wonderful sense of relaxed charm where traditional elegance meets trendy details. 4. Facilities like the laundry room and gym are all available, which is very friendly for tourists! **Guest Room Facilities & Experience:** 1. The guest rooms are very spacious, with ample room for luggage. 2. The bathroom features a wet and dry separation, but the countertop of the vanity is extremely small and cannot accommodate a makeup bag at all. 3. There are no handrails in the shower, which is not very friendly for elderly guests with mobility issues. The toilet is an enclosed space with no ventilation equipment whatsoever, requiring you to hold your breath every time you use it. 4. The room was clean and tidy, but upon check-in on the first day, I found chewing gum on the towel (as shown in the picture). 5. The bedding is comfortable and soft, conducive to sleep and relaxation. Due to Suzhou's watery climate, the sheets and duvet covers might feel slightly damp. It's recommended to close the windows and turn on the air conditioning to dry the room for a while before going to sleep. The hotel did not provide both soft and firm pillows as is customary; all were soft pillows. This led to me tossing and turning the first night and waking up with a stiff neck. I only got a good night's sleep after requesting a memory foam pillow from housekeeping the next day. The room windows are not very soundproof; the sounds of street vendors and the square dancing across the street were clearly audible and incessant. Fortunately, Suzhou doesn't have much nightlife, and the noise automatically subsides after 10:00 PM. 6. The breakfast buffet offers a rich variety of both Chinese and Western dishes and is well-stocked. The dining environment is spacious, comfortable, clean, and bright. **Service Experience:** 1. Check-in was extremely slow, with long waiting times. Even with only two or three guests, the front desk staff were very sluggish, taking an average of 15-20 minutes per guest. Most hotel guests now book online, and their information is already available in the system, so I truly don't understand this work efficiency! I suggest that the front desk staff improve their professional skills or that the hotel increase its staffing. 2. There was no one-meter line at the front desk, and the staff did not maintain order. While I was checking in, two strangers stood closely on either side of me, like ”left and right guardians.” The front desk attendant completely ignored them, not only failing to intervene but also proceeding to loudly verify my personal information, calling out my name, phone number, and room number, showing no awareness of protecting guest privacy. 3. The stay included a choice of two Suzhou garden day tour packages: Line A included Humble Administrator's Garden + Grand Canal Cruise + Hanshan Temple at Maple Bridge + Panmen Gate + Shantang Street, but this route is currently suspended. Line B includes Lingering Garden + Grand Canal Cruise + Hanshan Temple at Maple Bridge + Panmen Gate + Shantang Street. I inquired with the tour guide, and departure was at 7:40 AM, which felt a bit like a forced march, so I decided to explore on my own. 4. The hotel driver proactively offered a canal night cruise service, including boat tickets and round-trip transportation, for 138 RMB per person. After getting in the car and departing, the driver suddenly claimed to have an urgent matter and told us to take a taxi back to the hotel ourselves. Upon arrival at the dock, I saw a clearly marked price for the boat fee (including Pingtan performance) at 79 RMB per person. Even if the round-trip taxi fare was 20 RMB (the dock is not far from the hotel, only 2.4 kilometers), the driver still profited nearly 100 RMB from the two of us. We trusted the hotel and chose to take the ride, and while a service fee is acceptable, this felt like being scammed. I didn't expect such a big pitfall even within the hotel! "

"This hotel was the most pleasant surprise of my trip to Suzhou! I had originally booked a twin room, but the hotel proactively upgraded me to a suite. Since it's newly opened, all the facilities are top-notch, and the garden views are a major plus – the courtyard has a wonderful antique charm. The room came with boat tickets for Shantang Street, but we couldn't use them due to high water. The hotel kindly swapped them for a complimentary double buffet dinner, which had a great variety of dishes and especially delicious desserts! It was a Saturday, so there was even someone playing the Pipa, which added a lovely atmosphere! The front desk staff, Vance, Larry, and Grace, were all incredibly warm, attentive, and efficient. They were very responsive to guest needs, providing excellent service that truly deserves a five-star rating!"

"I brought my family to stay at this Atour by the canal this time. The surrounding area is lovely, with a running path along the canal perfect for a leisurely stroll. The 'Midnight Congee' was also a nice touch, warming us up in the evenings. I'd definitely choose this place again next time."

"Seeing that it was a new hotel opening in 2026, I chose this Atour. First, let's talk about the location; it's not far from the Humble Administrator's Garden and Pingjiang Road. My son and I were able to bike there to avoid traffic, which was great. The hotel is indeed very new, both in terms of hardware and software. I've stayed in hotels in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Shanghai recently, and the bed and bedding at this Atour were the most comfortable I've slept in. The bedding and toiletries were also very clean and pleasant, which is important to me as I have a slight phobia of germs. I've been traveling for almost 10 days, and this was the first time I woke up for breakfast – and it was excellent, with a balanced nutritional mix that my child enjoyed. Finally, I want to emphasize that the service at this hotel is exceptional. My son carelessly lost his headphones, and when we needed to pick them up, the hotel readily granted us a late checkout. Suzhou has truly left a wonderful impression on me, and I will definitely be back."

"The rooms are quite new; I asked the front desk and they said the hotel just opened in February this year. The hallways and rooms are decorated with colorful ornaments, giving off a vibrant and youthful vibe. We booked a family room, which has a 1.8m king bed and two 1m+ single beds, easily accommodating a family of four or five. There's also a living room and kitchen in between, perfect for gathering to chat or watch TV, which is very convenient. It even has two bathrooms, offering more privacy. However, a heads-up for those traveling with kids and looking to combine beds: the two single beds in the room can't be pushed together, which is a bit different from the rooms at the adjacent Hualuxe Suzhou Gusu. For kids' entertainment, you can head to the large and convenient LG Kids' Paradise directly opposite the hotel. Plus, there's an underground passage to the newly opened MixC World, so you can go shopping without getting wet on a rainy day, just like their slogan says. For fitness, I highly recommend the hotel's own gym on the 1st floor. It has more equipment and a larger space, and you can just swipe your card to enter, ensuring an undisturbed workout. It’s perfect for an extended stay!"

"What I liked: the location of the hotel was almost ideal, the bed was extremely comfortable, the staff was quite nice and tried to solve problems as efficiently as possible within their power and the late checkout is wonderful. I do tend to ask a lot of questions, and they were very patient and communicated well through WeChat. They also allowed me to check in early. The property is beautiful and modern. It’s an Instagrammers dream. Hotel toiletries are nice. All aesthetics inside the room are excellent. Easy walk to the Suzhou MoCA/Suzhou Eye, Times Square and many malls and restaurants. There’s also a complementary mini bar with beverages. The indoor refrigerator is cold. The robes are a high-quality and so are the slippers. Hansgrohe and Kohler. Voss water. Good toothbrushes with Colgate toothpaste. What needs to be addressed: before booking the room, I went to the hotel, asking in broken Chinese and English if breakfast was included because the listing says “Brunch & Diptyque bath amenities” for a room with a Lakeview. I was told yes. So I booked the room on the spot. The staff was nice and took me to my room. When we entered, it was beautiful, but it was a sauna. They turned the air on, but unfortunately, there is no temperature adjustment. I had to use the fan that I brought with me for 30 minutes before I decided to go outside because it was cooler out there. It cooled down when I came back later that night so that wasn’t a problem. I was later informed that brunch was not included, but that they would happily comp it for me for free pending a good review. I skipped brunch. Furthermore, there is technically a view of the lake, but the windows on the first floor, basically faced the very busy sidewalk. I saw a guy peeing 3 meters away from me when I opened the curtains. Drunk people at 2 o’clock in the morning walking by laughing. If you book the Lakeview room make sure it is not on the first floor.I could not keep my curtains open. There’s literally always people outside before 3 AM and after around 7AM. I did not receive the promised upgraded Diptyque bath amenities listed either. No shower shoes. No international language TV options, pay per view only. Not completely soundproof, but not too bad. There’s also no in room information about the hotel offerings, and they pay all of this money to have hotel information connected with their television, it is not utilized. A few issues could be avoided if they would just update the listing on this website with correct information. Be careful when choosing this room type. You might as well pick a room that is 200 RMB cheaper. “Lakeview” is it a lie, but it’s definitely stretching the truth. “Walkway view with the lake in the background” is more accurate. All of this said, I will probably come back to this hotel. I will just stay in a cheaper room. Overall, I was quite satisfied with their resolutions with any problems that did arise. They did offer complementary bread at checkout."
