Decided to treat myself to a relaxing weekend getaway and headed to Jiaoweichang to enjoy the sea views 🌊. Waking up to a full panoramic view of the ocean right from my bed was incredibly soothing and therapeutic. 🏠 I chose this beachfront villa, located right on the first row of Jiaoweichang. It offered unobstructed sea views, meaning I could watch the ocean and sunrise 🌊 without even leaving my room. Perfect for a lazy summer escape! It's also super convenient, with the beach right outside and plenty of dining options nearby. 🛋️ The suite itself was very spacious, featuring two floor-to-ceiling windows. From one window, I could enjoy the sea view directly from my bed, and there's also a private hot spring tub 🛁 where I could soak while gazing at the ocean – truly delightful. The other window overlooked a beautiful view of the mountains and city, with a tatami area perfect for enjoying tea 🖼️, which offered a unique charm. The room facilities and cleanliness were top-notch. They even provided a coffee bar, snacks, drinks, and a sleep kit with a steam eye mask, making for a very comfortable stay. Every spot here is picture-perfect 🖼️, from the 'Sky Mirror' to the private ocean-view hot spring and the swimming pool... every corner feels designed for photography, and any shot you take turns out amazing. It's ideal for family trips, couples, or solo travelers looking to unwind. Plus, the guesthouse offers a travel photography service, so even if you're traveling alone, you don't have to worry about getting great photos. STAFF APPRECIATION: Simply wonderful. I encountered many staff members during my stay, working in the hotel itself, the various cafes and restaurants, and on the beach. Every single one was professional and kind and so very warm. Several of the young people working there also spoke English, which was an unexpected pleasure and convenience for which I was grateful. However, I owe a special thanks to the lovely little sisters at the front desk, Catie and Xiao Kue. Especially Catie. This sweet young woman took exceptional care of me during my stay, seeing to every need, answering every question (in English, no less), and patiently guiding my drivers to the location when I arrived or chose to go out and explore. I am getting older now and often require clear instructions and visual aids. 😅 She kindly offered both. 非常感谢。🙏 HOTEL REVIEW: There are multiple warnings given before and during the stay about ongoing construction next door, but it had minimal impact on my stay and, if you're out exploring and playing, you won't even notice it by the time you return in the evening. As promised, it started at breakfast time and concluded by 6pm in the evening around dinner time every day. I choose this hotel deliberately because, while a little more expensive than its competitors and a bit off the beaten path, it seemed to offer more convenience and privacy. I was so relieved to see that this was true. Their beach is small, but well-maintained and private, which meant no crowd and plenty of opportunity to take people-free pictures and simply sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the sea. There was also no shortage of dining options on the resort itself as well as nearby. Several fun, beautiful places to visit are also located a short drive away. However, if you're looking for a retreat, a place to simply rest and be close to nature, away from crowds, this place offers that as well. It was a welcome respite. I saw couple, families with children, and even a few other foreign guests all enjoying their time here. 🏖 Because I was on a budget this time, I chose the lowest priced room and was prepared to sacrifice my view of the sea. Unexpectedly, I didn't have to. This was a very happy surprise. ☺️ Though, I'll definitely try and splurge on a room on a higher floor next time as being near the entrance could sometimes be a little loud when guests arrived. Overall, I am completely satisfied with my time here and hope to return someday. TLDR; Wonderful, attentive staff; private, convenient location; stunning views; and several dining options all offer a very pleasant, worry-free getaway during peak season. Well worth the price and the journey. Every kind of traveler will find something to enjoy here.

Here's a detailed review of my stay: 📍 **Location:** One of the hotel's best features is its location. It's close to the metro station, and the public beach is about a 5-minute walk away. However, it's often crowded, not a private beach, and lacks any water sports or activities. It's also right next to the Outlet Village, accessible in just 2-3 minutes via a bridge, which is a great perk for shopping enthusiasts. 🏨 **Arrival and Reception:** The hotel entrance is beautiful and modern, making a great first impression. Upon arrival, the reception area was busy, and unfortunately, we had to carry most of our luggage ourselves. Only one small bag was assisted, while we pushed the rest of our suitcases up to our rooms. We had booked two rooms and were kindly upgraded to a pool-view room for one of them, while the other remained a mountain view as booked. To be honest, the pool-view room was smaller than the original room we had reserved. 🛏️ **Room:** The room was modern, elegant, and high-tech, with everything looking brand new. The toilet (excuse the description) was smart, and the hotel provided a Dyson hairdryer and special, high-quality outdoor slippers. Our room was approximately 50 square meters, making it spacious and comfortable, with two air conditioners providing excellent cooling throughout our stay. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable, ensuring a peaceful sleep. Sound insulation within the room was excellent, and the integrated sound system with the projector/TV was fantastic with great quality. However, when walking through the corridors, you could hear TVs from some rooms. 🧹 **Cleanliness and Service:** Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was on the last night after the typhoon. During room cleaning, they only cleaned the balcony and emptied the trash, while the room floor remained wet, the bed wasn't made, bathroom tissues weren't replaced, towels weren't changed, and basic amenities weren't refilled. Overall, the service didn't feel like that of a five-star hotel. Most staff members were either busy on their phones or rushing around the restaurant unprofessionally. One surprising incident was when I went for breakfast about 45 minutes before closing, and when I asked for boiled eggs, I was told they weren't available, even though there was still plenty of time before the buffet ended. On the other hand, I'd like to thank the receptionist who checked us in; he spoke fluent English and was very helpful. I also appreciate the staff member responsible for the WeChat service, who was very quick to respond to all our inquiries throughout our stay. 🍽️ **Breakfast:** We stayed for 5 days, and the breakfast was the same every day with no notable variety. For us as Muslims, the options were very limited, mostly consisting of toast, eggs, and fruits. I hope they add more options suitable for international guests. 💡 **Facilities:** * Curtains and lighting are electronically controlled. * There's a robot for room service deliveries, which was a nice touch. * Customer service via WeChat is very quick to respond. * Upon check-in, we received free vouchers for Wish Tower entry, as well as mini-bar drinks. * The pool operates from 2 PM to 10 PM. I think the opening time is too late, especially for those who want to swim in the morning. * The pool is about 120 meters long, with a lifeguard present at all times. * Pool towels are not provided at the pool area; you have to bring them from your room, which I found surprising for a five-star hotel. * There's a small but functional gym. * The pool view is more vibrant and appealing than the mountain view. 📶 **Wi-Fi:** The internet speed was moderate, sufficient for daily use, but not the best. 🛗 **Elevators:** There are only two elevators, but during our stay, the waiting time wasn't long. 🚿 **Bathroom:** The toilet has a heated seat feature but lacks an electronic bidet, which I would have expected in a hotel of this caliber. 👕 **Services:** There's no iron in the room. Instead, there's a laundry room with a steam iron available for use. Frankly, I was surprised that room ironing service wasn't available, especially for a five-star hotel. 🌪️ **During the Typhoon:** Our stay coincided with a typhoon, and the winds were extremely strong, making the balcony door shake frighteningly. Credit to the hotel for securing the pool area and closing it to prevent items from flying around. However, guests were unfortunately not informed of any instructions or warnings; we discovered this ourselves. I would have appreciated a message or notice to reassure guests and explain safety procedures.

## Overall Environment: This guesthouse is built on a hillside overlooking the sea, divided into Phase 1 and Phase 2. All public areas are in Phase 1, while Phase 2 is purely for accommodation. If you prefer quietness, Phase 2 is a good choice, about a 7-8 minute walk or a short shuttle ride to Phase 1. For families with children, Phase 1 is more convenient. Public areas include the beach, restaurant, library, and spa. Activities like wind chime DIY, sound healing, and yacht trips are also in Phase 1. The public areas are not very large; both the beach and pool are quite small. On weekends, it gets crowded, making true relaxation difficult. The restaurant faces a similar issue; due to its size, the tables are not well-arranged, with everyone dining close together, leading to a significant lack of privacy. ## Room Environment: We booked a reef courtyard king-size room. The room size was reasonable, and the view outside the window was pleasant. The hardware clearly shows attention to detail, with brand-name fixtures like the showerhead and toilet. The toiletries were Bvlgari, but of average quality; my hair felt tangled after washing. The cleanliness and welcome fruit were also just average. ## Restaurant: The Chinese restaurant was the best part of this stay. The seafood was very fresh, and the prices were fair, with no short-changing on portions. I recommend the coral trout, small squid, sea shrimp, and freshly squeezed juice. ## Activities: The wind chime DIY and sound healing were very enjoyable. The yacht trip was a shared one, and watching the sunset was quite nice. The spa massage technique was excellent, and all the hotel staff were very friendly, proactively greeting guests with politeness and enthusiasm. ## Overall: As a popular internet-famous hotel by the sea, it's great for photos, with many intentionally designed scenes. It meets the expectations of an 'influencer hotel,' but as a secluded resort for relaxation, it lacks a strong sense of privacy and tranquility, making it unsuitable for a staycation. On weekends, it's crowded and overpriced, offering poor value for money. If you want to experience it, it's best to go on a weekday to avoid crowds and get a better room rate.

The St. Regis Shenzhen is an impeccable top-tier five-star hotel. Both its luxurious high-rise environment and its meticulous service are excellent. Hotel Environment: * High-altitude views: Located on the upper floors of a landmark building, the rooms offer superb views, overlooking the entire bustling cityscape of Shenzhen. * Luxurious decor: It blends modern design with classical art, with every corner exquisitely elegant. * Comfortable facilities: The rooms are spacious, and the bedding is extremely comfortable, allowing for complete relaxation. Exceptional Service: * Attentive butler service: The butler team here is professional and friendly, providing meticulous care. * Special thanks: To our service butler, Eddie, who was always there to meet our every need when assistance was required, making us feel incredibly warm and cared for. * Kiki made the check-in process efficient and smooth, and enthusiastically introduced all the hotel's facilities. * Alice & Kiki were thoughtful in every detail, and their kind farewell when checking out left a lasting impression. Overall, this was an unparalleled stay experience, highly recommended for travelers seeking high-quality accommodation.

Future Hotel Shenzhen Review (December 2025) Overall Rating: 3.5/5 stars Decent budget option for a short stay in Shenzhen, but falls short of expectations, especially if you’re hoping for a truly “new” hotel experience. Location: 4/5 The hotel is conveniently located right next to a pleasant park, perfect for a quick walk or some fresh air. It’s also just a 5-minute stroll to the nearest subway station, making it easy to get around Shenzhen without needing taxis everywhere. Great for travelers relying on public transport. First Impressions and Facilities: 2/5 Advertised as a newly opened hotel, but by late 2025, it didn’t feel fresh or modern at all. The lobby is unusually located on the 7th floor, accessed via an elevator that’s just beside a larger neighboring hotel. The lift area felt dim and outdated compared to the brighter, more upscale vibe of the bigger property nearby. The lobby itself is compact, dimly lit, and lacks any welcoming or luxurious atmosphere—more functional than inviting. Room: 4/5 The room size was surprisingly generous for the price point in Shenzhen, where space often comes at a premium. It was very clean overall, with a large, comfortable bed topped with four plush pillows, perfect for a good night’s sleep. The big flat-screen TV was a nice touch, and the bathroom was decently sized with a good shower and separate toilet area. No complaints on comfort here. Service and Issues: 3/5 The major downside was a frustrating check-in experience. Using the hotel’s systems, the receptionist assigned me to a room that hadn’t been cleaned yet, it still reeked strongly of cigarette smoke and clearly wasn’t ready. I had to trek back down to the lobby (7th floor elevator and all) to get a new key and room assignment. This kind of mix-up feels avoidable and soured the arrival. Final Thoughts Nothing particularly stands out or excels at Future Hotel Shenzhen—it’s serviceable and clean in the rooms, with a solid location and value for money, but the dark, dated common areas, misleading “newly opened” vibe, and the room assignment error make it underwhelming. I wouldn’t skip Shenzhen altogether, but I’d definitely choose a different hotel next time I’m in the city. Suitable if you’re on a tight budget and prioritize location over polish.

Finally checked into the highly anticipated Orange Sea B&B! We originally booked the 'Yulin' room, but after seeing it in person, we felt it was a bit too small. The hotel staff quickly and graciously upgraded us to a larger room for free. The natural light was excellent, and the room was meticulously clean. Lying on the balcony's lounge chair, you can gaze out at the sea, which was incredibly relaxing. The butler service was exceptionally warm and attentive; our entire stay was comfortable, and any requests were promptly addressed with great attention to detail. The beach is within walking distance. Since we stayed in building 40, it felt a little circuitous if you're not familiar with the layout. However, sitting by the sea, enjoying the breeze, and watching the sunset, shedding the city's fatigue, was also very pleasant. The 'Fisherman's Lights' restaurant was quite good; you can enjoy delicious food while admiring the sea view. The weather this summer has been unpredictable, so be sure to check the forecast before heading out, or your experience might not be as good as expected. Wishing everyone a pleasant journey!

This place deserves special praise. The hygiene standards far exceeded expectations, and the entire apartment was meticulously cleaned to leave not a speck of dust behind. The rooms were fully equipped and brand-new, and the audio-visual equipment provided a great experience. The staff were extremely attentive throughout the stay, arranging convenient pick-up and drop-off services at the port. The air conditioning and WiFi worked perfectly. It’s just a short walk from the East Gate business district, offering everything you need for travel, dining, and entertainment. It’s highly recommended for friends visiting Shenzhen.

After comparing many hotels, I chose this one and it was definitely the right decision. The hotel is located right next to the planetarium, and a 8-minute walk downstairs will take you to Beach #2. There's a convenience store and restaurant right next to the building. The room isn't small, it's clean and tidy, and the bathroom even has a smart toilet. The disposable amenities were also of very good quality. It's only an 8-minute drive to the observatory, and there are no other buildings beyond that, making the rooftop perfect for stargazing. The front desk staff were also very friendly and even helped with our luggage. It was a very pleasant stay.

The hotel boasts a prime location right next to Luohu Port and Shenzhen Railway Station, making cross-border travel and train journeys incredibly convenient. With a well-developed transportation network nearby, it's a hassle-free choice for both commuting and sightseeing. The hotel itself is grand and impressive, exuding the classic charm of an established star-rated hotel. The lobby is spacious and bright, and all public areas are clean and tidy. The front desk staff were gentle and polite, handling check-in and check-out procedures quickly and smoothly. They were also patient and thorough in answering any questions, providing thoughtful and attentive service. I stayed in a Superior King Room, which was spacious and impeccably clean, with excellent attention to detail in hygiene. The room had great natural light, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. All in-room amenities were complete and well-maintained; the bathroom had consistent water pressure, and the Wi-Fi was fast. Standing by the window, I enjoyed a pleasant city view. The hotel also offers dining and leisure areas, making daily life convenient during my stay. For a hotel located so close to the border, the value for money in this area is outstanding. It saves a lot of time and effort for travel, making it perfect for both business trips and commutes to and from Hong Kong. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Luohu next time.
