Lijiang International Hotel

This hotel looked close to Dayan Ancient Town, but in reality, the closest point is Lion Mountain within the ancient town itself. This means you still have to climb many, many stairs to get into the ancient town. And if you take a taxi from the Big Water Wheel, Lijiang is extremely congested. The location is actually very bad. I can't find many good words to describe this hotel. The only upside is that you can see the snowy mountains, but honestly, you can see them from almost any hotel in Lijiang. I feel like I got completely ripped off choosing this hotel; it's the biggest travel flop of my decades of trips.

This hotel is quite old. I only realized after arriving that many older hotels in Lijiang primarily cater to tour groups. Individual travelers should definitely avoid booking here because their service model and mindset are deeply tied to group guests. This is the first hotel I've encountered where the front desk phone is consistently unreachable, which was incredibly frustrating. All requests required going downstairs to communicate in person, and even then, the service was extremely slow. The first time, I had just hiked from Tiger Leaping Gorge and was exhausted, yet it took at least an hour to check in after communicating with the hotel (the initial standard room I booked was absolutely terrible, with windows facing a building just a few feet away, where stinky shoes were drying outside. I ended up paying extra to upgrade, but even then, the staff's complete lack of competence dragged out such a simple issue). The snow mountain view room had a decent view, but it had a fatal flaw! A terrible smell! The bathroom was extremely foul-smelling.

Great location, very close to the ancient city. There's a tea shop right at the entrance and a food street nearby. The room was clean and well-equipped. The service was warm and attentive, and it was a unique room. The haitangguo (crabapple fruit) drink in the lobby was delicious.

This hotel offers great value for money, with a beautiful environment and convenient transportation. There are also many great restaurants nearby, and the best part is its proximity to the ancient city.

This is my second time in Lijiang, and I'm staying at this hotel again. Even though it's a bit older, it offers great value for money. It's very close to Lijiang Ancient Town and shopping nearby is also super convenient.

The hotel's cleanliness is truly impeccable; every corner shines, giving it a five-star feel. The location is excellent, right next to the ancient city, and you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right from your window.

The hotel is impressive, and the location is great, with supermarkets and a night market nearby. The room was very clean, although the furniture was a bit old. Breakfast was plentiful and thoughtful, and the service was good. They even provided complimentary milk in the room.

Staying at Lijiang International Hotel with two kids was an amazing experience! The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the Old Town's Waterwheel, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. They didn't charge extra for breakfast for either of my kids, and the breakfast spread was varied and delicious – such thoughtful service. The room was clean and spacious, the environment was great, and the staff were warm and attentive. It's definitely my top choice for traveling with children, highly recommended!
