The hotel is 20 kilometers away from JFK Airport, which is a bit far. If you arrive in the early morning, it will take several hours to take the subway from JFK Airport to the hotel. The half-day subway line is much faster. It is recommended to take a taxi or airport transfer service. There is nothing to visit near the hotel, but it is very close to the subway station. There are two subway stations near the hotel. The nearest subway station is Prospect St Station. It only takes 20 minutes to take the subway to Manhattan, which is very convenient. The facilities in the hotel are very new, the elevator is large and fast, and there is also a small restaurant in the hotel that provides breakfast. The breakfast is very good 😊. The front desk staff are very friendly. The hotel door is locked at night and you need to swipe the room door card to enter the hotel. It is very safe 👍This hotel is very warm in winter. The entire public area and room of the hotel are very warm, and the heating effect is super good. This hotel is my first choice when I go to New York again.

My stay at The Lodge with my mom was really nice. The check in process was super simple. The front desk attendee was really helpful. Our room was very nice and clean. There was a very nice spread for breakfast offered each morning. I was very surprised at the variety of breakfast food provided. Everything was very organized. It also made me feel increasingly safe that the Lodge is located across from a police and firefighting station. Finally, I really liked that the hotel offered a QR code listing different food places and transportation in the surrounding area. The only issue I had with the hotel was paying $25 per night to park at the onsite, uncovered hotel parking lot.

We stayed here for one night for a quick look at the city and one of the perks was the free parking. Spaces are limited But we got there in time. The staff are kind and it was nice to be able to speak Chinese with them as well as English. It's also near a beautiful cemetery that for us was the highlight of our visit.

I booked for four nights but was surprised to be located to a room in the basement. The front desk was at least kind enough to change my room after one night. The hotel is fairly small so there is no gym or much common area. The room is reasonable, but the bath room light is linked to an exhaust fan which is a good idea but the noise from the fan was uncomfortably loud. The coffee machine is standard but the electric wire is very short and there is no socket that could fit its use in the room except in the bathroom. I have asked the front desk for hangers in the closet and to fix a desk light that did not work in the room, the serviceman came fairly quickly which is rare in the big hotel chains. The staff were all courteous😊. breakfast was okay with limited choices. Given the price is only half that of the big chains, value for money is good. Location is in the middle of subway station taking a 10min walk to access, no nearby smoke shop or restaurants or supermarkets is a weakness.

My flight was canceled due to a local snowstorm, so I requested to cancel one of my two nights, but it was refused. I even sent the cancellation documents to Trip.com and requested it a total of four times, but it was still denied.
It felt like a goshiwon (a type of tiny, affordable room for rent in Korea), but unlike other hostels, it was a single room, which was nice because I didn't have to worry about other people when storing my luggage or turning on the lights.
It's incredibly small... about the size of a double bed? Maybe even smaller...
The walls are thin partitions and the ceiling is open, so you can hear noise, but on the days I stayed, there were only quiet people, so there wasn't much loud noise.
The shower rooms and toilets seemed to be cleaned regularly.
I was assigned to the 4th floor, and the biggest downside was the lack of an elevator... ㅠㅠ
Check-in and check-out are done via a kiosk, but there seemed to be at least one staff member always present.
Honestly, if you don't need anything else and just want a place to sleep, I recommend it.

I booked the wrong address. I originally lived in Manhattan, but I booked the wrong place to go to Brooklyn. It was my own fault, not the hotel. But the location is a bit remote, not very convenient, and the price/performance ratio is not high.
Located in Brooklyn's Gowanus neighborhood, our hotel is less than a mile from Barclays Center. We're within a couple blocks of dozens of restaurants, and public transit options are less than a block away. Work, play, eat, and unwind in our lobby with a game zone and 24-hour market.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I have stayed in this area a couple times over the years because it is close to family in Brooklyn. This year the regular hotel I use was unavailable but luckily I found Tru.
Upon checking in I was warmly welcomed and quickly was up to my room.
The room set up was perfect for my needs with a nice desk space for work. The bathroom was huge and very clean.
The staff was so helpful and friendly, I will definitely be staying here again whenever I visit Brooklyn.

Clean room. Asked for extra towels, did not receive them. Asked for a corkscrew, they said i had to go to the bar and let them open my bottle of wine for me. The valet was difficult to communicate with. Other than those inconveniences, our stay was lovely

The room is big and the breakfast is simple. There is an Indonesian middle-aged man at the front desk who is very enthusiastic. He lent me a charger and told me where to buy things, which touched me. The location is good, less than ten minutes walk from the New York University School of Engineering. It is very expensive on weekends.

I really like the hotel's add-ons given that it is a budget hotel. Has a gym, some free drinks (but give up the coffee, it's awful), ice, free breakfast. I hope the hotel and change it). The room is tidy and the public spaces too. I didn't get lucky enough to get a room with a view of the statue of liberty. But I can't ask for more for the price!

DDr EddyThe hotel is in a very good location. Alexandra was so nice that she gave us a complimentary breakfast and accommodated us even before our check in time. It was a good experience. Although breakfast has a lack of food variety, it was good.
KKitrynThis hotel is immaculate and absolutely everybody is above and beyond pleasant. Though not directly affiliated with the hotel, Inexpensive, super clean and very easily accessible parking is a two minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2 1/2 days of parking. The room was incredible. Exposed brick walls with super high ceilings, the bathroom had a huge tub and a wonderful shower. Pro tip: if traveling with someone that you do not want to see you naked, understand that it is not a one-way mirror over the bar and you absolutely CAN see into the shower While someone is showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so this was not a real issue. The restaurant within the hotel and the Ramen place directly next-door are both wonderful. I did not make it to the rooftop bar this time but since I absolutely will stay at this hotel every time I come to visit I will check it out next time! The room was extremely quiet, temperature was easy to control. Now, a little too much honesty, I am an extremely “sensitive” person, and resting and hearing so much from the second I stepped into this hotel. I was never scared, as I definitely don’t typically get scared, but I had numerous very genuine and very obvious things happen while I say that this hotel, such as seeing things walk across the hall in both my room and the hallway, in the main lobby bathroom someone walked into the bathroom and into the stall next to me, but never left, and when I looked, there was no one there, and I was in the shower. I could hear several men talking to each other as if they were right next to me. I was definitely not hearing people from another room. I also heard the door to the stair well open, which is right next to our room and I was right next to the door so when I looked, there was nobody there and I pulled it shut again. Just out of curiosity, as to what was there prior to the hotel, on the way home my daughter looked up the history to the hotel. Let’s just say it was very enlightening as to why i was experiencing so much activity in this hotel, especially on the third floor next to what I will assume would have been a fire escape at some point. It also may explain why the first thing that went through my mind when I opened the front door of the hotel and turned to my daughter and said “I’m surprised the hotel gets away with door opening inward. It goes against fire code. Anyway, You can look up the history yourself and understand all that I have said. :-) either way, a spectacular hotel at a decent price and a very safe and beautiful part of the city. I will definitely stay here again!
MMs. ShaniquaOmgosh ... hotel was really nice! Breakfast was excellent and it lasted til 11a, which is pretty awesome for those that like to sleep late. So many options (hot, cold and dry). They offer bacon, sausage, scrambled/cold boiled eggs and breakfast potatoes. Whole fruit (apples and bananas), sliced fruit (melons and pineapples). Cold and hot cereal (oatmeal). Yogurt and granola. You can make your own waffles or pancakes (such a cool machine). Make your own toast and/or select from many pastries or muffins available. So many options! You can even place an order vs. eating from the buffet. They also allow carry-out and to-go boxes. Drink options at the buffet include: coffee, O.J. and apple juice.
PLEASE NOTE:
There's a separate fee for breakfast if not selected when booking.
Having said this, the hotel does not have microwaves in the room, just a fridge. There are microwaves located on each floor though (along w/ vending machines -both are in same location). Our room was spotless and absolutely spacious (no deviation from website)!
We arrived way beyond check-in and did call once we knew we'd arrive later than expected. Spoke with front desk staff who assured everything would be OK, only to arrive and find that our room (which was already paid in full) had been given away. The hotel was only able to provide us a King and a rollaway bed. Of course we were disappointed, but the next morning the hotel Mgr. made everything right. Having said that, the rollaway bed is THE HARDEST THING EVER. We bring our own everything (e.g. bedding, cleaning supplies, etc.) so we were able to make it work and make it comfortable. So much so, we'd chosen to not to be moved to the room we'd originally booked. It rained our entire stay which is what caused us to arrive late in the first place (that's a whole 'notha story). Anyway, the hotel had a few small trash bins about the lobby catching leaks here and there, but that didn't stop anything. I barely even noticed. Had I not been recording how beautiful the hotel was inside, I would've never noticed. Parking is $30/day, it's NYC what do you expect? 🤭 There's also parking on the street if you can get spot. Careful though, NYC parking signs can cause confusion for those not familiar with the City's play on words. All in all, this was great stay for us and I'd certainly stay again. Oh, I forgot to mention -I did! Yes, I extended our stay another night because the hotel and location was exceptional!
p.s. they also offer a seated bar area.
Overall: 10/10✨️
MmsorefAfter a long flight to jfk this is a good option for a night of rest. The breakfast was decent above US standard. The room view was excelent. ( 19th floor) The hotel is new and room was very clean. I wish there is water fountqin on each floor but its available omly at reception. I was very satistified with the hotel for one night rest there was flowers in the lobby
GGuest UserClose to Central Park and also near Times Square. The bed in the room was comfortable, but the only drawback was the noisy air conditioning.
GGuest UserThe room size was average, but the location was great, right in the Financial District, about 200 meters from the Charging Bull and Wall Street. Breakfast didn't have a huge variety, but it was clean, and the sausages were tasty, though I wouldn't want them every day. Early check-in required a $150 deposit. The elevators were a bit small and you had to wait, but that's normal for a building with so many floors. The other guests were nice, mostly tourists, and everyone said 'good morning' when you saw them.
HHarpoprahBe careful about their hidden cost, everyday you need to pay around US$50 for their all access fees(lounge, roof top, gym) which is mandatory!
It is not indicated in the booking so I feel cheated that I have to pay for such fees which amount up to US$150 for my 3 nights there.
And did I mention you have to carry all your luggages by yourself which I had to push the luggage trolley myself!
Amazing location but I will not go there again!
Rricooooo0Booked a standard room for two people and it was much larger than expected. There was plenty of space for both our luggage, plus a wardrobe. We stayed for three nights, and the location was fantastic – right next to Grand Central Station and Fifth Avenue, which was incredibly convenient.
GGuest UserHotel is in an excellent location but checking in was a nightmare had to queue for over an hour. The lift system is atrocious. The system gives you a lift for your floor and then allocates that lift to everyone else. It takes ages for it to come and then everyone cannot get into the one lift and you start all over again. Could be waiting 30 mins plus for a lift. Everyone complaining about the lifts and sating that it’s the worst hotel because of it.
JJasmine xirenankaThe hotel's location is great, but the facilities are a bit old. Despite that, it's cleaned meticulously every day! We checked in around 3 or 4 PM, and the front desk staff was yawning repeatedly right in front of us, with their mouths wide open… Honestly, it was my first time encountering such rude front desk service! The bellhop who helped with our luggage had a sour face the entire time and spoke very impolitely. We only had two loose coins, so we gave a tip of two, and his face got even darker! On the morning of our check-out, we were pushing a bunch of luggage plus a stroller, and there were several staff members standing at the concierge desk, but no one offered to help. In short, there was absolutely no service to speak of, as if the hotel hadn't paid them!
