A very good stay! The hotel is located between Beixinjing and Weining Road subway stations. The hotel is very new, and the receptionist even upgraded our room for free. The only downside is that there aren't many restaurants nearby. However, for the price in the city center, it's very good value for money. I wish the hotel continued success.

Room is clean, there is a small fridge, a tea kettle, hair dryer...there was no air conditionner when i was there because it was switching to heating due to winter approching. The staff are helpful and welcoming. Great place to stay if you intend to visit Shanghai

This is an affordable and quite convenient option for solo travellers or those staying short-term. The room is clean, it’s spacious and generally quiet (at least from outside traffic). The location is pretty central. The water pressure on the shower is excellent, but be careful with the hot water as it can become scalding hot very quickly. The shower can also overflow to the outside so make sure to aim away from the shower door. It is a 15-20 minute walk from the subway station and as there is currently construction on the way to the station, this path is not the most convenient. If you are near the elevator it can get quite noisy with guests coming and going, as well as children. Another problem was the shortage of bath towels. We only had one large bath towel and had to go down and request this twice. However all the staff and cleaners are friendly and efficient.

This hotel is a solid base for Shanghai exploration. Highlights: - This hotel has great design elements and is helpfully located really close to Beixinjing station on line 2 - fantastic for getting around to see the city easily. - The hotel offers a complementary 1 day tour of Shanghai. This is well hosted and is a delightful way to be introduced to many of the amazing sights that Shanghai has to offer. - The front desk staff are professional and helpful. A special mention here goes to Kevin who was among the most helpful and warm front desk staff encountered. - The hotel is generous in providing all the expected amenities of a hotel stay: unlimited bottled water, tissues, clean towels etc. The rooms are well kept by friendly housecleaning staff. - Airport transfers are provided and are great. Areas for improvement: - The complementary dinner buffet could be improved through labelling of dishes and greater variety. We visited a number of times and the mains remained the same, though the desserts did change. - The attitude of the dinner service staff was not great. As guests, we felt heavily watched on some of the nights we chose to dine at the buffet. This behaviour left us feeling unwelcome and lets down the atmosphere created by their colleagues elsewhere in the hotel. We did note a difference during a dinner visit later in our stay, so it seems the behaviour may have been noted and addressed. - The AC unfortunately only blew out hot air and the smell of cigarette smoke would sometimes come through during its use. We ultimately opted to open the windows, but this could be an issue during warmer weather. - There was no safe in our room. - The toilet flush is very limited, and it was unclear if the expectation is that tissue paper is thrown into bins. Better signage would help with this. - We noted on one day that housekeeping had been into the room despite the do not disturb sign being present on the door. Overall, the hotel is good value for money. Some small changes and greater attention to some details would help with its 5 star experience.

CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed.
Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free.
The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all.
Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!
KKlaudia PhamThe hotel is located very close to famous tourist destinations like The Bund & Yu Garden. There’s a mall right across the road with plenty of local restaurants.
We booked 2 Queen-sized rooms for family of 3 adults & 3 children, and got 1 room free-upgraded to King-sized for more convinience. We were warmly welcomed by Lucas from FO - the only person can speak English we met during the whole trip to Shanghai. He managed to help us arrange the best room & offered reakfast for my 8-year-old kid.
Delivery service is modern with the help of robot.
It’s quite pity that when we arrived under heavy rain, there’s no bellman assisting us with luggages.
KKevin*fuxiansenThis hotel is truly thoughtful, I have to give it a good review! Right after checking in, the front desk staff, with a smile, handed me a welcome snack – fragrant popcorn, and even two extra bottles of drinks. This feeling of being valued was especially nice. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable and soft, and you could see the care in every detail. When you're traveling, the last thing you want is to be hungry or thirsty, and I never expected the hotel to have thought of these little things ahead of time. Although they were just small complimentary items, they perfectly reflect the warmth of their service. Next time I'm in this city, this will definitely still be my first choice!
AAnonymous UserThe concierge service at Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund sets the gold standard for luxury! A special thanks to Mark, Max, and Jimmy. Upon arrival, they proactively helped with luggage, greeted us with warm smiles, and guided us efficiently. When we asked about sightseeing routes around the Bund and restaurant reservations, all three were incredibly patient and detailed. The routes they recommended helped us avoid crowds, and the local Shanghainese restaurant they booked for us had exceptional food. Throughout our stay, their responses were prompt, professional, and thoughtful, showcasing luxurious attention to detail. They made our stay perfect, and we'll definitely choose this hotel again next time we're in Shanghai!
GGuest UserThe Peninsula Shanghai, nestled by the Waibaidu Bridge, the Monument to the People's Heroes, and the Bund, might not be described as 'convenient' in the traditional sense, but I found its location perfect for soaking in the unique Shanghainese vibe! The service here is wonderfully old-school and distinctively 'Shanghai' – unhurried yet efficient, demonstrating a clear and deep understanding of guest needs. The rooms are classic Peninsula style, with well-defined functional areas, superb soundproofing, and impeccable cleanliness and maintenance, putting my mind completely at ease. The dining experience was a genuine delight; both breakfast and the Cantonese restaurant in the evening were so memorable. I particularly loved the evening bath ritual – pressing the SPA button and immersing myself in the tranquil, ethereal music, it felt like I was back in a cozy island retreat! My two-day Peninsula experience was a solid 12 out of 10. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai who wants to truly experience its unique charm!
GGuest UserQuiet surroundings and lovely hotel. About 5.5km away from Shanghai Disneyland. Shopping centre about 350m from Novotel. Bedding, amenities and pillows OK. Perhaps can change one soft pillow to a harder pillow instead of two soft pillows. Fridge drinks provided. Water pressure in shower good with instant hot water supply. Aircon in the room pre-programmed to 26°C...so we had to request for a stand fan to ventilate our room especially after returning from dinner after 3 hrs. Hotel provided only 1 keycard so we had to take it with us when we left the room. Could not leave card in the slot to continue cooling it. Thanks for upgrading us to L15 by your Reception staffs. Free shuttle to Pudong Airport and Disneyland. Good service by all staffs... Even to Novotel's shuttle coach driver who helped us with our luggages. Thanks to all. 🙏
EElianaCThis review is long overdue! I was in Shanghai for a business trip in early March, and it happened to be raining heavily then. The underfloor heating gave me the warmest, most comfortable night's sleep, and the duvet cover felt incredibly soft. It was my first time staying in a Shikumen building, and the courtyard was so unique and stylish. Both the courtyard and the room's interior design were absolutely beautiful. The unit I stayed in was located on West Yan'an Road, very close to Xintiandi and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. It was perfect – I could just stroll back after dinner in Bei Li. Check-in was also a breeze. I saw that the host manages several other unique B&Bs, so I'd love to try them out sometime!
JjaspenI've wanted to stay at the W Shanghai - The Bund for a long time, and finally got to during my recent trip to Shanghai. It wasn't as perfect as I'd imagined.
First, the good points: The environment is nice, and the cleanliness is decent. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfast offers a wide variety. The outdoor bar was the best experience.
Now, for the less satisfying aspects:
1. Previously, when staying at hotels, you could contact scalpers or certain individuals on platforms to use their membership tiers for room upgrades. Since I booked in advance, I contacted them early about a possible upgrade. I was told that if there was an available room type on the day, I could be upgraded. However, on the day of check-in, they claimed there were no rooms available and didn't upgrade me. At the time, I checked the Ctrip app and saw that rooms *were* available. I'm a platinum member with upgrade benefits, and I still didn't get one.
2. My Ctrip booking included two complimentary drinks, but the front desk didn't provide vouchers during check-in. I only found out at the bar that I needed to go back to the front desk to get them.
3. I had a lot of things and wanted to use the black bag in the closet. Unfortunately, it was broken, and the hotel hadn't replaced it in time.
GGuest UserThe room was spotless, smelled fresh, and came with all the amenities you could need. The bedding was super soft, making for a really comfortable sleep. It had great natural light and good ventilation. The owner was incredibly warm and attentive. Fantastic value for money – a perfect stay, highly recommend!
GGuest UserI stayed here temporarily for a visa appointment. Although the room is small, it's reflected in the price, and it was perfectly fine for one person. The location is downtown, close to everything. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and tidy. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm very satisfied! ✅
