The hotel room was designed with a grand aesthetic. As soon as you enter, there's a floor-to-ceiling window offering direct sea views. To the right of the window is Ap Lei Chau, and to the left is the bay. It's bright, comfortable, and well-equipped. The toilet is a bit narrow, but the shower is spacious. There are a few interesting brochures in the room, and the minibar offers complimentary drinking water and coffee. Room service is also available, which is very convenient. The hotel's internal facilities are luxurious, though the swimming pool wasn't open yet. The 'Xingyao Hall' inside the hotel offers both a buffet dinner and à la carte options. The buffet dinner required reservations a few days in advance (perhaps due to the large holiday crowd), so I unfortunately missed out. However, the à la carte dinner was also very reasonably priced, especially with a 20% discount for hotel guests. The dinner menu included both Chinese and Western dishes, and the portions were moderate. For less than 200 RMB per person, I was very satisfied. The food was also delicious and met five-star hotel standards. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from Ocean Park Station. A free shuttle bus runs every half hour and on the hour from the hotel entrance to Wong Chuk Hang MTR Station and Ocean Park MTR Station. For guests visiting Ocean Park, if you plan your time a bit, the convenience is comparable to the Marriott right at the Ocean Park entrance. The hotel service was also very thoughtful. At check-in, because of my issue (I didn't have an overseas payment card), the front desk staff proactively offered to waive the deposit, saving me a lot of hassle. Later, when I requested a one-hour late check-out, they readily agreed after a quick discussion with the front desk. Overall, the service attitude was excellent, even by Hong Kong standards.

When planning my trip to Ocean Park, I was torn between two hotels. I ultimately chose the Marriott for its convenient location near the MTR and Ocean Park. While the other option offered a sea view, the hassle of transfers made it less appealing. This Marriott exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly warm and polite. What truly impressed me, though, was the room. Although slightly smaller than rooms at Hong Kong Disneyland or Chimelong theme park hotels, it's considered quite spacious for Hong Kong standards. Moreover, the cleanliness was far superior to those other hotels. Perhaps it's because this hotel has a lower turnover rate, but the countertops, tables, and bathroom floors were immaculately clean. I didn't even need to use wet wipes to clean the surfaces this time! However, there's one minor point: I booked for two adults and one child, but only two cups were provided in the room. While I appreciate the effort to reduce plastic waste by minimizing plastic water bottles, it's essential to provide the appropriate number of cups for the guests staying.

The front desk staff and the housekeeping attendant were both very friendly. For Hong Kong, the room size here is considered quite spacious. There's a bus stop right downstairs, making it very convenient to get to Central and Tsim Sha Tsui. Wong Chuk Hang MTR station is also not far, which makes getting around easy. It's only one stop to Ocean Park and about 2-3 bus stops to Aberdeen, so it's very close. Plus, the Southside shopping mall is nearby, which is great for shopping.

Absolutely incredible value for money, so much so that it barely feels like a Hong Kong hotel. I booked it last minute at such a low price, so I honestly didn't have high expectations. It was super easy to find after getting off the bus, a very prominent building. The ground floor common area is spacious, and from what I gather, they regularly host various events, giving it a cool hostel-like vibe. Even the hallways are a refreshing green. The room wasn't as small as I thought it would be, and the view on a clear day was fantastic. The shower in the bathroom was really comfortable. Just a heads-up, they don't provide toothbrushes or toothpaste, so remember to bring your own, or you can grab them from the vending machine on the ground floor.

This hidden gem of a hotel is absolutely fantastic! The rooms are incredibly spacious and bright. If you're particular about the view, just book a racetrack or city view room directly – you'll be treated to an amazing vista! The connecting rooms come with two bathrooms, which is super convenient when traveling with family, much better than a standard suite. Check-in is at 3 PM, but the lobby has plenty of comfortable seating, water stations, and restrooms, so there's no inconvenience at all. On the first floor (one floor above the lobby/G floor), there's a wonderful restaurant called Difu Lou. It's definitely worth trying; the quality of the dishes absolutely justifies the price. A special shout-out to the hotel for providing a whole strip of universal power adapters – that's incredibly practical!

I have visited Hong Kong many times and stayed at a wide range of hotels, but my experience at Urbanwood Hotel truly stood out because of the exceptional service from the front desk staff, Benson. From the moment I arrived, Benson was incredibly friendly, warm, and approachable. He was very talkative in a pleasant way, making the check-in process not only smooth but also genuinely enjoyable. His professionalism and attention to detail were outstanding, and it was clear that he takes his job very seriously while still making guests feel welcome and comfortable. Honestly, Benson provided the best front desk service I have ever experienced, even compared to all the hotels I have stayed in before. His positive attitude and excellent service left a very strong impression on me and made my stay at Urbanwood Hotel even better. I would like to sincerely commend Benson for his hard work and dedication. He is a true asset to the hotel, I would definitely choose to stay here again because of staff like him.

I booked a twin room package. The room was clean with a great view, you can even see the tip of the Bank of China Tower. The location is super convenient, right next to a famous photo spot (a pedestrian bridge), and within walking distance to Admiralty and Wan Chai MTR stations. It's also easy to catch a bus to Victoria Peak and Repulse Bay. The breakfast and afternoon tea were good too. Highly recommend!

I wanted to cancel my reservation due to personal reasons, but the hotel wouldn't allow it, not even if I offered to pay half. Oh well. This hotel simply can't compare to their sister property next door. The room was a bit bigger, but it's clearly a step down in quality. Plus, breakfast was just a boxed meal. The location, however, is pretty good; there's a tram stop right outside.

January 11-12, 2026 - Hong Kong's popway Hotel in Wan Chai. Stayed for one night for the convenience of shopping in Causeway Bay. In Hong Kong, the transportation here is quite convenient, not far from the subway station, and there are many dining options around. It's best to ask for directions using the street number from different subway exits, as map navigation isn't always accurate. The accommodation environment is very average; the room is too small for three beds, making it quite cramped. However, the bathroom is spacious, and the layout is decent. The service attitude was good.

GGuest UserLocated in Wan Chai, the hotel boasts a great location and has been recently renovated. The room isn't huge, but it's fully functional and doesn't feel cramped for two people; it's quite comfortable. The soundproofing in the room is also good. One thing I couldn't quite understand is why, during the renovation, they didn't update the charging outlets to be more universal. I still needed an adapter for my Apple devices, and it was easy to accidentally hit the switch, which would stop the charging.

GGuest UserThis hotel definitely exceeded my expectations! For a price over HKD 1,000, I was expecting a tiny room in Hong Kong, but to my surprise, it was a suite. It had a living room with a sofa, coffee table, and dining table, and the bedroom had a super large bed. Plus, all the details in the bathroom were very clean. The hotel staff were very nice, and their Mandarin was good. Breakfast was semi-buffet style, where you could order one set meal, and all four I tried were delicious. You could even see parrots flying outside the window while having breakfast. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its convenient location. It's about two bus stops from Admiralty Station (or walkable, really), a 200-meter walk from the Peak Tram Macdonnell Road Station, and within walking distance of Hong Kong Park and Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserThis hotel is located in the bustling Yau Ma Tei district, very close to popular attractions like Mong Kok and Victoria Harbour, making transportation incredibly convenient. You can take the A21 Citybus directly from the airport, and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. There are numerous 7-Eleven stores and Mannings pharmacies nearby, as well as many cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) for dining options. Victoria Harbour is a straightforward two-kilometer walk away, and the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station is also just 1.5 kilometers on foot, passing by the Instagrammable Old Yau Ma Tei Police Station on the way. The hotel facilities are new and very modern. There's a coffee machine in the lobby offering complimentary coffee in the mornings. Both the front desk staff and the housekeeping team are very friendly.

JJingjingpangDuring peak hours, the hotel elevators are quite slow; you often have to wait for 2-3 cycles to get one, and they're small with inefficient dispatching. The soundproofing in the room isn't great; you can hear conversations and doors opening in the hallway, and even the subway or tram at night. The room's amenities are a bit old, but complete, and the shower has great water pressure and is very hot, which is a plus. The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to get to all the main attractions. The staff are enthusiastic, but they tended to respond with 'no' to any requests I had. 🙂

GGuest UserThe hotel itself is located in a relatively quiet corner of the TST hot spot near the ISquare/Harbour City, it is relatively hard to miss the impressive front door of the black marble looking exteriors. Check-in is Very smooth, cash deposit are required but easily done. For the first time staying of this hotel i’ve requested a higher level room and a quiet corner, which happens to be 11th (top level except roof common area). Room is as advertised ,very spacious and clean looking (typical wear and tears of material aging is expected but doesn’t looks gross). for visitors that enjoys their own balcony view it is better to ask ahead if the room assigned has it, for me although it was a room that didn’t which is fine, but the eye catch is the toilet - bath tub and the shower is separated which allows flexibility for both type of bath time enjoyers too, those whom need longer stays and/or like taking long bath in a tub will enjoy the big tubs, but the overhead ceiling shower is just as great for morning refreshers. bed had its own smaller TV screen with wall mounted extend arms for lazy watching which is great if you’re relaxing while enjoying the Victoria harbour view from the window, but also a living room bigger tv , although the downside is sometimes the remote will controls both units at the same time, so nighttime tv bingeing becareful of volume bursts from a different tv. room air conditioning is room self-controlled - the panel is right next to the main TV so for travelers that is sensitive to temperature differences is a plus, as you don’t have to worry centralized air con streaming cold airs in cooler days or during sleep, you had the control at your own hand. only things that may be worth considering is that the room is wood tiled - occasional cracks from old tiles misaligned can occur when you step on it so if your roommates are light sleepers and prone to awakening from noises, that could be a problem. also while unfortunate as it is during festive times and beyond hotel controls, noise can be excessive if there neighboring room(s) are booked by party goers or occupants had returned drunk. as the hall noise is very auditable. security is standard where after 6pm it requires your room keycards to access lifts and the hotel doors as well. A small but noteworthy point is the gym at 6th floor and their rooftops- technically on the 12th floor, the roof is a fairly open area with a limited but still great view of the Victoria harbour amidst the neibouring buildings that is 2-3 rows away from the harbour side. while not certain is it remained open overnight as long as accessing with keycards, it is great for the city view. however not recommended for people with Fear of heights- as glass barriers are only to waist levels that can be easily lean over. also the rooftops lift indicator is not as visible/auditable while waiting for it arrivals, so if the single lift that can reach the rooftop is out of services it may become unavailable , or if unlucky you might be locked out. overall it is a surprisingly fair price but great accommodation choices, while noise concerns can be servere if you happen to be unlucky when other floor occupants go berserk, but surrounding areas noise is not intense even it is next to Kowloon Park Drive intersection ramp just 1 block away.

AAlora_7I think the price is quite reasonable. The hotel environment and service are both excellent. It's located by the sea and mountains and is very quiet. After a day out, there was absolutely no noise at night, allowing for a peaceful rest. Plus, the scenery near the hotel is incredibly beautiful, in my opinion. If you have enough time and aren't too tired, you can actually take a stroll down the road inside the hotel grounds; the night views are especially stunning.

GGuest UserThis place is decent. The hygiene is pretty good, though the room is a bit small. That's understandable given that space is at a premium on Hong Kong Island. The price was great during the off-season, especially with fewer people around due to the typhoon. The guy at the front desk was very enthusiastic. It was drizzling all day, and because of the typhoon, the MTR to Hong Kong Island was temporarily shut down. I tried to hail a Didi for ages in the morning; taxis didn't want to go out because of the typhoon, and Didi drivers were price gouging, asking for HKD 300 or even HKD 500. Some even accepted the order but never showed up and didn't cancel. It wasn't even that far. Finally, an uncle accepted the order and showed up in the rain, and he didn't even charge extra! I couldn't believe it, he was a truly honest person. The wind and rain weren't even that bad, and there were few cars on the road. I chatted with the driver; he spoke Cantonese, and we spoke Mandarin, but we could mostly understand each other. Older people are often more down-to-earth. The driver was over 50, born in Hong Kong, with ancestral roots in Guangdong. His daughter is still young. It's not easy for men to provide for their families. We arrived at the hotel quickly, and the fare was HKD 123. We gave the driver a 10 RMB note as a tip to thank him.

GGuest UserTwenty years ago, when I first visited Hong Kong on a tour, I stayed at the Rambler Garden Hotel next door. Back then, this entire complex had just opened, and this area wasn't even on my Hong Kong friend's new map. From my room, I could see the Stonecutters Bridge under construction and the container terminal below. Back then, we had bulky CRT TVs on the windowsills; now, there are flat-screen TVs mounted on the walls. The hotel is very clean, and housekeeping is prompt and thorough. The room is quite small, which is typical for Hong Kong. The wardrobe and other furniture haven't been replaced in twenty years, and some pieces are showing wear and tear. The mini-fridge, which used to be under the wardrobe, is now on the windowsill. The nightstand, previously between the two beds, has been moved to the side closer to the bathroom. Some of the worn areas definitely need timely repairs. Tsing Yi is a relatively secluded island, and as one of only two hotels here, transportation relies on minibuses 88F and 88G plus the MTR, which is reasonably convenient. Because of its somewhat remote location, the big advantage is the excellent value for money. For the same price, hotels in areas like Jordan or Central would be even smaller and lack any cabinets or chairs. WeChat Pay and Alipay are widely accepted in many places, though a few smaller shops still hold out, accepting only cash. All three meals can be had at the Café de Coral restaurant on L1. There's also a convenient ParknShop supermarket where you can top up your Octopus card at the checkout. On L1, you'll also find a Bank of China (Hong Kong) ATM. You can withdraw Hong Kong dollars directly using any UnionPay debit card; it automatically converts the currency, and I found the exchange rate to be quite good at 0.88. There's a flat fee of HK$10 per transaction. Twenty years ago, the hotel used to sell Disneyland tickets. Now, it's so easy to buy tickets online via mobile, so that service is no longer offered. That's all I can think of for now. Time to rest.
