Sofitel is a bit of an older building but service more than made up for it. The front desk was nice enough to upgrade my room, the lifeguard at the pool was very polite, as well as the gym front desk. Overall service was fantasic. I’d say 4 bottles of water per room might be nicer instead of 2? I drink a lot of water. But I had a great stay.

Check-in took longer than it should have, and I was initially given a smoking room despite requesting a non-smoking one. The smell was unbearable, but the staff did resolve the issue by assigning me a different room after I asked. The room itself was fine, clean and functional, which is the most important thing. While the service had some hiccups, the price is reasonable for what you get. I’d still recommend this place for budget-conscious travelers, just don’t expect a luxury experience.

The front desk service was professional, and the room Xiaofan arranged was nice, with large, clear windows and a lighted makeup mirror. The breakfast was delicious and varied. The location is convenient, with plenty of restaurants and transportation nearby. I've stayed at this hotel many times and was very satisfied with my overall experience. The front desk offers free luggage storage. The service is efficient. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was the right height, and the space was ample. The room was spacious, a small one-bedroom suite, and the restaurant downstairs was clean and reassuring. The front desk service was friendly, providing free shopping bags and transportation maps. The room had great lighting, a large, high-definition TV, and one-touch screen mirroring. The robot delivery service was excellent, the blackout curtains were excellent, and the smart toilet was a fantastic experience. The breakfast was varied and comprehensive, and every stay was excellent. They take great care of their regular customers, and they give it a five-star rating.

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations.
We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby.
We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed.
Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel.
This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance.
We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again.
Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed.
When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet.
Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

GGuest UserTraveling to Nanjing with friends, we blindly picked this hotel through the platform and it totally exceeded our expectations! It's really close to Xinjiekou Metro Station, just about a 10-minute walk. The front desk lady was very professional and helped us check in thoughtfully, reminding us of everything we needed to know.
The room was super spacious and very clean, with all the amenities. The hairdryer was even a Dyson, and the bathroom was separated, which was really convenient. I especially loved the bathroom design – there's a raised anti-slip section in the middle, making it perfect for families with seniors or children. The TV was also huge and very clear. The weather was super hot these past two days, so we were pleasantly surprised to find a mini-fridge with iced water, and there was even room-temperature water on the table – so thoughtful! All the appliances were smart, including the curtains. The pillows and bedding were also very comfortable, I slept wonderfully! 👍
The next morning, I woke up to a lush green view outside the window, which instantly put me in a great mood. I snapped a few photos; they turned out perfectly in no time.

GGuest UserKudos to the cleaning staff on the 15th floor during Chinese New Year. The front desk, which is supposed to be the hotel's face, was a letdown. We checked in at the left counter using Hong Kong IDs, and after we were done, they asked if we needed help with our luggage. We had elderly and children with us, but there wasn't a single word of greeting. Breakfast was up to four-star standards; not a huge variety, but good quality. The lounge on the 5th floor was very average. They had red and white wine, but you had to ask the staff for beer.

There's a dedicated dining hall for meals, and the main lobby itself is really upscale, you can even get coffee there. The front desk lady was super friendly and always solved any issues perfectly. While there's a shelf in the shower area, it's very easy to get towels wet there, which is quite inconvenient. I'd suggest adding one or two towel hooks outside the shower to hang towels or clothes. That would make it perfect.
The restaurant's food selection isn't very diverse. It would be even better if they added pancakes.

AAnonymous UserWe arrived at night and walked from Dongliu subway station. There was no light outside and the road was pitch black, which was scary. After arriving, there was no light and we walked around in a circle. It was not easy to find. In fact, it is located near the southeast of the community and is easier to find during the day. The bed is right at the entrance of the room, and you can hear people coming and going in the corridor. The sound insulation is average. The newly opened hotel is fairly clean. There is a foul smell in the bathroom, I don’t know if it is related to the weather. There is a storefront at the west gate of the community where you can have breakfast. The advantage is the affordable price.

I arrived quite early because I was on an early train, and the front desk staff proactively helped me with my luggage.
