"I stayed at this apartment for five nights in Dalian and was unexpectedly satisfied. It's incredibly convenient for airport transfers, with direct access via Metro Line 2. Located in Donggang, the sea views are stunning and within walking distance. Public transport, including buses and the metro, makes it easy to reach various attractions and commercial areas. With your room card, the fourth-floor elevator provides direct access to Kaidan Plaza, which offers a fantastic and affordable selection of dining options. There's also a Better You supermarket on the mall's basement level. Seafood stalls offer free cooking services for purchases over 80 yuan, and you get a 2% discount when paying with your Fraser Place room card. The room was clean and well-maintained, with excellent amenities, even laundry detergent, which was a very thoughtful touch. The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and responded quickly. Overall, it was a perfect stay. I highly recommend Fraser Place if you're visiting Dalian."

"This is a great hotel with excellent value for money. The price is affordable, and the facilities are quite comprehensive. Although the decor is a bit dated, the room is spacious, comfortable, and clean. There are even charging cables for various devices, which is a nice touch. Everything you need is here, and the front desk service, in particular, is incredibly warm and attentive. There's a private parking lot in front, making it ideal for self-driving travelers. The surrounding area has a fantastic range of amenities, including the Chunxi Road snack plaza, Yuan Xiaobai BBQ, and various other delicious food options and supermarkets. It's a 20-minute drive to Xinghai Square and not far from other attractions, making for a very enjoyable travel experience!"

"The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, nestled right between Zhongshan Square and Youhao Square. It's only a few hundred meters from two metro stations, and Line 2 offers convenient access to both the airport and the high-speed rail station. You can easily walk to Russian Street and Tianjin Street. From the upper floors, you get a great view of Zhongshan Square, and on a clear day, you can even see Donggang. A big shout-out to the doorman – even when it was raining and windy in Dalian, he was out there in his short-sleeved uniform, still offering excellent service without a hint of reluctance. Another thumbs up to Amy Cai, the lounge supervisor, for her warmth, dedication, and professionalism! 👍 However, as an older five-star hotel, you can sense both the stubbornness and the compromises that come with age in several areas. Breakfast is served in the café on the 6th floor, which feels quite cramped, especially during peak hours when it can get incredibly crowded. The door from the gym reception to the actual fitness area left quite an impression; if it weren't for the staff repeatedly gesturing for me to push it open, I would have thought I’d gone to the wrong place. While the gym has a good variety of equipment, it's packed in very tightly, and the overall quality is a bit lower compared to other InterContinental hotels. Nevertheless, these minor flaws don't detract from the overall experience. All things considered, it offers great value for money, and if you're looking to stay in Dalian's old town, I'd highly recommend this InterContinental."

"This time, my family and I chose Shangri-La Hotel for our trip to Dalian. Before check-in, Lisa proactively and thoughtfully communicated with me about my preferences. She understood my request and specifically reserved a high-floor room for me. The check-in process was incredibly smooth; Lisa was efficient and swift, with no delays, patiently confirming all my information. She even arranged a birthday cake when she learned it was my husband's birthday! The hotel's overall quality is truly exceptional, living up to its reputation as a seasoned five-star establishment. Both the hardware facilities and the service details are impeccable. Lisa's gentle and meticulous service made us feel so warmly welcomed in this city. Next time I visit Dalian, this hotel will definitely be my top choice!"

"Overall the hotel is nice and clean. however If you looking for a privacy friendly please avoid this hotel. The house keeping team had entered my room 2 times within the 4 days during my stay. A not-disturb card was hang as well as the not-disturb light was also turned on. Upon the first enter, I had went to raise the issue with the hotel. The initial reply was the not-disturb card might be ‘moved’ when I opened the door for exiting. Little that they know I had took photo when I make myself leaving the room. On top of that, the no-disturb light was also on too even they falsely claimed card was moved. Then the hotel replied that ‘oh no, they must of entered the room to tidy up the room’. Yet, the room was NOT tidying up at all. Again, what’s the purpose for them to enter the room without my consent and my present? I questioned by expressing this may be a careless mistake which I do not wish to happen to anyone anymore, then I had left the scene and leave it as it is. It HAPPENED AGAIN next day, I was frustrated and questioning the hotel again. They said they will ‘investigate’ and given me an explanation of what was happening. 2 hours later they rang to my room, and informed me that ‘due to you are staying alone with no companion, it is the policy of the hotel to check up on me to make sure I’m safe’ Really? ARE YOU SERIOUS? This is what they replied me of the case. Number 1, if this is the actual reason, why don’t they tell me the first time when this was happened. Number 2, I had clearly stated I do not wish to be disturbed and yet it has not been respected. Number 3, due to the nature of my occupation, I’m staying in different hotel 9 months out of the whole year. I had never ever heard of this. Long story short, I will not going back to this hotel nor recommend to anyone."

"I found this place online, and after seeing the good reviews, I booked a three-night stay. When I arrived, the front desk upgraded my room. It was spacious, bright, clean, and hygienic, with a separate wet and dry area. All the necessary amenities were provided, and I had a distant sea view from the window. I slept really well all three nights – it was very quiet. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the subway, and you can take Line 2 directly from the airport, which is super convenient. The price was great, and I was very satisfied."

"Had a fantastic stay for my business trip! Bonnie at the front desk was super professional and efficient, making the check-in process smooth and quick. The room was clean and tidy, and the soundproofing was excellent, perfect for both resting and getting some work done. The facilities are comprehensive, and the hotel's location is really convenient for business travel and dining. Great value for money, highly recommend for business travelers."

"The (apart)hotel is located steps away from the seaside and 东方水城 with plenty of eateries (but definitely less than what you get if staying at 中山广场 for example - we purposely chose to be close to the seaside here). The staff from bellboy to front desk/ cleaning staff is also eager to please with smiles all around, definitely pleasant interactions. On the downside, there was a heavy smoke smell at the hallway leading to our unit, and upon confirmation with the staff working at the floor during the time, turns out that the person living next door is smoking 🥲 this smell did creep into our unit over time, which led me to request air purifier and open the windows to improve circulation. Also I need to turn *off* ventilation at the bathroom to prevent smoke smell. Luckily, the situation improved during our stay (so I decided against requesting to change units) since the occurrence of smoke smell became less (perhaps the resident checked out/ decided to smoke less?). Anyhow, this did damper our experience. Also to note a service suggestion due to the smell I immediately requested a purifier unit, didn’t realize that there’s already one sitting in the unit. I also requested detergent since washing machine is available in the unit, didn’t realize that it’s readily available inside the bathroom. While the receptionist happily agreed to my request when I called to request the items (upon checking into my room), they could have also just informed me where they are located to avoid the redundant request. Also, perhaps the detergent should be placed visibly/ closer to the washing unit instead of being together with toothbrush etc inside the drawer in the bathroom - just a suggestion. Breakfast offerings while great is also nothing to wow about (one of our main considerations for hotel selection is to look at breakfast pricing listed, which is 198 RMB in this case, which is on the higher end, so we were expecting some kind of a wow factor). Yes, the restaurant is located on the 67th floor offering nice view, but the spread is nothing to rave about - it’s your typical above average breakfast spread with additionally a little seafood selection. During our stay I did come across an offer to purchase breakfast for 108 RMB in one of the platforms, and I think the value is much closer to this rather than 198, so something worth calling out. So all in all, good hotel with great location/ views/ staff - calling out the smoking issue (more of a people problem rather than hotel’s, but I would wish/ expect that indoor smoking should be non existent for 5-star establishments, which isn’t the case here), and secondarily the breakfast value. The shower issue (lower pressure/ time to heat) from other reviews is also real, but not a big deal for us."

"They helped upgrade me to a family suite, which was a bit extravagant for one person. It had three windows, offering both city and sea views. But honestly, for just me, I preferred room 4617, haha! It was compact, and listening to my favorite music while gazing out the window was incredibly relaxing. The night view was beautiful too."

"Definitely giving Dalian Guoshi Hotel a full five stars! The value for money is absolutely incredible. For its location right in the city center at Zhongshan Square, the price is unbeatable and much more affordable than similar hotels nearby. The subway is right outside, and there are tons of restaurants, making it super convenient for shopping, dining, and getting around. The room was spotlessly clean, the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the hot water was instant. The bedding was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. You can cast your screen to the TV to watch shows, there are plenty of charging outlets, and all the disposable amenities are provided – thoughtful details everywhere. The front desk staff were genuinely friendly and efficient with check-ins and check-outs, always ready to help. This is my top pick for business trips or vacations to Dalian. You get a comfortable, excellent room without breaking the bank. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely book here again next time!"
