"Honestly, just book it. Best stay ever! 🙌✨ I’m on such a high from our stay at Vela Dhi Glow Pratunam that I just had to shout it from the rooftops. If you’re heading to Bangkok, seriously, look no further. This place is an absolute gem. First of all, the reception staff? Total rockstars. From the moment we checked in, they treated us like royalty but with the warmest, most genuine vibes. They are SO good at actually listening to guest requests and making things happen without any fuss. Right from the start, they hit us with their amazing amenities—specifically, their unlimited fresh welcome drink. Trust me, after walking around in the Bangkok heat, walking into that lobby and having access to that delicious, ice-cold drink is easily one of the best perks ever. It instantly refreshed us every single time. The real game-changing moment, though, was on our last day. We wanted to do one massive, final shopping run before leaving, and the staff didn't even blink when we asked them to hold onto all of our heavy luggage. Because of them, my wife and I got to tear through the malls completely hands-free without dragging bags around. It made the whole day so much fun instead of a logistics nightmare. The hotel itself is just stunning and everything feels super fresh and modern. Also, a random but massive plus: their ironing service is incredible. My clothes were looking pretty sad and wrinkled from the suitcase, but they got everything looking crisp and perfect so fast. It’s rare to find a hotel where the staff genuinely seems to care about your trip, but these guys nailed it. Huge thank you to the team—you guys made our trip fantastic."

"I have found this hotel few years ago, however we didn’t have a chance to stay there until now. I expected high standards of services and comfort of room and I can say that this hotel has definitely reached my expectations completely. It’s stylish, comfortable and rooms are spacious with everything what is needed for shorter or longer stay. We will definitely stay here again when we’ll stay for a night or two in Bangkok."

"Great family room which can easily house up to 5 pax. The table and shower facilities is slightly dated but does not affect usage and remains clean. Lovation is perfect with 7-11 right next to lobby. Mcd, starbucks and KFC are just next to hotel. Super accessible to Centralworld, Pratunum market, Platinum mall too. Highly recommend to stay. Only slight inconvenience is that the family room is at North tower, not the main tower. So need to change lift at 11th floor and walk to next tower. Lift can get crowded at peak timings."

During my recent stay, I was immediately struck by the hotel’s minimalist yet warm aesthetic. Nestled in a quiet alley just a 7-10 minute walk from the Ratchathewi BTS Station, it offers a peaceful retreat while keeping the bustling energy of Siam and Pratunam within easy reach. Comfortable Rooms & Exceptional Sleep The highlight of the room was undoubtedly the sleep quality. The mattress and pillows are exceptionally plush—often cited by guests as some of the most comfortable in Bangkok. My room was immaculately clean and thoughtfully designed with: • Smart TV for easy streaming. • Reliable, high-speed WiFi. • Daily housekeeping that maintained a high standard of hygiene. Seamless Service & Thoughtful Amenities The hospitality here feels genuine. The staff are incredibly accommodating, and the free electric tuk-tuk shuttle to the BTS station is a lifesaver in the Bangkok heat. Other appreciated touches included the 24/7 complimentary coffee/tea station in the lobby and the convenient luggage-weighing scale—perfect for those planning a shopping spree at nearby MBK or Platinum Fashion Mall. Location & Local Vibe While the hotel is in a ”slower” part of the district, stepping around the corner reveals a vibrant local scene. There are multiple 7-Elevens nearby and an abundance of affordable street food stalls and massage shops that provide a much more authentic experience than the typical tourist traps. Minor Considerations • Space: Like many boutique hotels in central Bangkok, the rooms (especially the Smart King) are cozy. If you have large suitcases, you might find it a bit tight. • Sound: Soundproofing could be improved, as noise from the hallway can occasionally drift into the room. Overall Verdict: With its stylish design, superb breakfast buffet, and top-tier service, VELA be Bangkok Ratchathewi offers incredible value for money. It is an ideal choice for travelers who want to be near the city center without sacrificing the quiet, local feel of a traditional neighborhood. I would certainly return for those pillows alone!"

"One of the very best hotels around Bangkok, connected to the airport express train feels like walking from the airport to the hotel. It's only on stop from Asok station that connects to the metro traffic free access to the city centre. Stayed here on both long and short stays. Rooms are very comfortable with huge beds and bathtubs for those of us that love to relax in the tab before sleep. Make sure to book the breakfast, plenty of options and unlimited."

"The place is clean and nice. The rooms is lovely. Love that the toilet and bathroom is seperate. Also happy that amenities are given upon request which minimise wastage. Only two downside. The hotel is quite a walk to the main Satorn/Silom area (about 5 to 10 mins walk depending how fast). Although there is a shuttle just need to areange your time. The other is the room have quite bad sound proofing. Not from outside but jjst outside my door. Other than than all is great"

"This is the ultimate train-view hotel. From the guest rooms, restaurant, and even the pool, you can see both the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and Airport Rail Link tracks (rooms on the opposite side of the tracks won't have this view). While there aren't a huge number of SRT trains, it's still entertaining to watch them pass by. In the distance, you can also spot trains from the Makkasan SRT factory. I think this is the perfect hotel for any railway enthusiast. However, being so close to the tracks, you do hear some train noise when they pass. As expected from Mercure, the basic services are excellent. The cleanliness, amenities, and breakfast all offer great value for money, especially considering the hotel's price point. It's about 800 meters from the Airport Rail Link Makkasan Station. If you have light luggage, it's a walkable distance. Alternatively, if you call the hotel, they'll pick you up by car at MRT Exit 3. Recently, they've been using a small converted truck, as shown in the picture, instead of a tuk-tuk. Next time, I'd love to bring my train-loving son to stay here."

"I stayed at Youyen Hostel DMK recently. The room and bathroom were reasonably clean, which was good, and they also provided shampoo and shower gel. However, there were a few things that could definitely be improved. When I arrived in the afternoon, I had to wait around 30 minutes because nobody was at the reception. There were also other guests waiting at the same time. During my stay, I noticed the reception desk was often empty, so getting help usually meant waiting for someone to come back. The breakfast was quite basic, more like a light snack than a proper breakfast. Another issue was the air conditioning, which does not run all the time and only works during certain hours. The shower in my bathroom was also broken. Overall, the hostel is decent for a short stay near DMK airport, especially if you just need a budget-friendly place, but the service and facilities could be managed better."

"Great value stay with spacious, cosy, and well-equipped rooms. Conveniently located about a 6-minute walk from BTS Nana Exit 4. While the hotel shows some age, it remains comfortable and well-maintained. Service is prompt and attentive, with warm hospitality throughout the stay. "The intention is for layover hours. Hotel is around 15mins away from BKK airport by car. There is a one way free shuttle to Mega Bangna, from Bangna to Hotel, grab will work by around 100THB or less depends on the time. Serves well for my intention."
