"Songzhuju is one of the nicest homestay I've stayed in. 1. Butler Ah Fei and all staff are very welcoming and friendly. Ah Fei contacted me in advance to arrange pick up and itinerary. He's also the go-to guy for purchase of authentic tea and local produce. 2. Superior location The homestay is situated about 100m from north gate. Considered easy to find but I would still recommend the pick up service as the town is such a maze. It takes around 30mins by car from Lijiang Railway to the ancient town. Restaurants, cafes and shops are everywhere. 3. Spacious and cosy room Room was clean, full amenities like bathrobe, slippers, kettle, shampoo, conditioner etc all provided There are endless options of homestays to choose from but Songzhuju stands out for being so homely and such kind of personal service is really rare. After 3 days of stay, i cannot pinpoint a single negative aspect at all. Would return for sure and highly recommend to all travellers! . Bed and pillows quite comfortable. Breakfast provided from 8am. Laundry room available."

The courtyard is designed with a distinctive "one mountain, one tree, one large white" aerial viewing courtyard, offering a wide and soothing view, making it a unique aesthetic spot for photo-taking. All the rooms in the house are well-equipped and follow a high-standard, meticulous hygiene management. The entire house is equipped with an intelligent guest control system. The comfort level during stay is comparable to that of a hotel. The exclusive viewing area on the top floor has an unobstructed view. It caters to both comfortable accommodation and the local cultural atmosphere.
"We booked the Snow Mountain Panorama Smart Room with a View (including a fridge and air conditioning). Although we didn’t get to enjoy the panoramic mountain view because of the weather, our stay was absolutely wonderful! The warm hospitality and exceptional service from all the staff, especially Xiao He, truly exceeded our expectations. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. One of the highlights of our visit was experiencing the traditional ******* hand-churned butter tea demonstration and tasting. It was such a unique and memorable cultural experience that made our stay even more special. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lijiang. We would definitely love to stay here again!"

"We enjoyed our stay at 在山也. The owners and staff were incredibly helpful - they not only helped us with our luggages, provided us with great recommendations for food and tips for various activities but also offered us tea every day during our stay. We even got offered 鲜花饼 when we checked in! 🤤 The room was comfortable and we had fun with the smart room controls with 小度. The sound of the toilet flushing can be a little noisy. For people who are sensitive to sounds, singing from nearby bars can be heard from the room. Location wise, the B&B is located on top of a hill which gave beautiful views of the mountains and Li Jiang Ancient City. Fair warning, the steps can be slippery when wet. We would recommend this hotel!"

"The hotel is a little over a kilometer from Shuhe Ancient Town. If you're heading to the Snow Mountain, I recommend taking the small train from the new visitor center. A taxi there only costs about ten yuan, and the scenic train is clean and pretty, saving you from traffic jams. You can see the Snow Mountain from the hotel. Although it's a garden hotel, there aren't many flowers, which is a bit of a shame, but there are plenty of bayberry and apple trees. The hotel villas are great for groups and offer good value for money. The service was excellent, with quick responses and polite staff. Before coming, I was worried the hotel might be too old, but it's actually fine; it just has an old-fashioned decor. During our stay, only the air conditioning on the first floor was a bit noisy, but all other facilities were well-maintained. We didn't need the AC at night for sleeping, so it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was average, but the desserts at afternoon tea were delicious. The travel photography was just okay, but the ethnic costumes were quite distinctive. The only slight annoyance was noisy neighbors who were talking in the courtyard late at night. We closed our room windows and doors, but we could still hear them. The villas are quite close together, but that's a structural issue that can't be changed."

GGuest UserThis was truly one of the best 民宿 experiences I have ever had. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Two gentlemen welcomed us warmly with smiles and immediately helped us carry our luggage, which included two large suitcases and two small suitcases, all the way up to Level 3. We were also given a complimentary room upgrade because a larger room was available, which was such a thoughtful gesture. After checking in, they patiently guided us through the room facilities and made sure we knew how everything worked. On the first day of our stay, they also prepared a beautiful fruit platter and tea for us, which made us feel so welcomed and well taken care of. Their service hours are from 8am to midnight, but what impressed us most was how much they went beyond that. Whenever available, they also had a driver who could send us to the nearby Lijiang Old Town, making our trip even more convenient and worry-free. The level of care and help they provided is honestly beyond words. They made our entire stay comfortable, smooth, and stress-free. Together with the beautiful scenic views, their outstanding service made us fall in love with Lijiang even more and truly made us want to visit again. On our last day, we had to check out at 7am, which was outside their usual working hours. Even so, the owner personally stayed at the counter and set his own alarm just to help us carry our luggage down. He did not have to do this, but he still went out of his way to assist us. He also helped arrange transport to take us to Lijiang Train Station, which made our departure so easy and comfortable. The service at this hotel is genuinely excellent. I almost have no words to describe how grateful we are for such a wonderful stay. This is the first time I am putting so much effort into writing such a long review for a hotel, and that says a lot about how amazing the experience was. If you are visiting Lijiang, I highly, highly recommend this 民宿. The service, hospitality, comfort, and overall experience are truly top-notch. GGuest UserI used to stay in hotels, but this time, wanting to better experience the local culture in Lijiang Old Town, I chose a guesthouse. From the moment we checked in, the owner, like a friend, brewed us tea and offered us flower cakes and dried beef. As soon as we entered our room, the daily afternoon tea set arrived: tiramisu tarts made with real cream, fresh and crisp strawberries and blueberries, and freshly cut cantaloupe and watermelon. I'm very sensitive to smells, and the room's air freshener and toiletries had a scent similar to Le Labo, which was lovely. The room offered great views of the snow-capped mountains. The guesthouse's location on the main street was perfect – lively but quiet. Even as a light sleeper, I was never disturbed by the street noise. Whenever I stayed elsewhere in Yunnan, I unconsciously compared it to this place. This guesthouse is truly my 'white moonlight' in Yunnan, and I'll never consider another option when I come to Lijiang again. Many thanks to the manager for the pick-up, help with luggage, and recommendations for various local specialty restaurants, and to the owner for her warm hospitality and sophisticated taste. The guesthouse serves breakfast; the auntie's rice noodles were generously topped, and the owner's cat, Aobai, is both cute and sassy :)

JJasonUIt has been a great 5 days and 4 nights in Lijiang. My stay could not have been more than memorable if not for this place. It was the best ever decision made. First of all, the location is the most important reason as I wanted to stay inside the old town. Just within a few minutes walk, I was already at the main square of the old town and walking distance to both North gate and South gate was also less than 10 minutes walk. There were many food, retail options and convenience stores everywhere. The hotel provided a pick up and transfer service which made it even better as one did not have to carry your own bags to the hotel. The communication was very smooth, prompt and clear. Despite the proximity of the hotel with the main old town square, it is surprisingly a very quiet and peaceful abode. Secondly, the hotel itself is very beautiful with a mixture of modern and traditional design. One can also see a beautiful panoramic view from the second floor. The room has new and high quality furniture. What i also appreciated was the efficiency, room service done promptly and everything was replenished well. The common area where breakfast service is served is spacious and comfortable with plenty of sitting area. There was also an afternoon tea daily served either at your room or at the common lounge area, with a variety of drinks to choose from. You must also try the coffee too! One cup is always not enough as it's that tasty. There is also a room to host Chinese tea drinking if one is keen to experience local pu er tea! Finally, the hospitality is one of the best I've ever experienced in China. The hotel manager, Ms Li is very genuine, friendly, kind, resourceful and hospitable. She is always checking on my welfare and ensuring that my stay is nothing less than comfortable. She is able to provide recommendations and suggestions on what can be done in Lijiang, saving one a lot of time and effort. If you are willing, she could also assist with booking. Together with her team, Xiao Long and Xiao Ping, all of them meticulously took care of me with their best ability. If you want a good relaxing trip, please choose this hotel, you will never regret it! Thank you once again for making my stay in Lijiang a memorable experience. Looking forward to coming back again.

GGuest UserThe room was pretty good, with a nice view overlooking the old town. The hotel also has direct access to a viewing platform, which offers amazing views! There are a lot of steps in the old town, but the staff were really helpful and carried our luggage for us. Breakfast was also quite good, though we only managed to wake up early enough to have it once.

GGuest UserThis guesthouse is perfectly situated in the heart of the ancient town, just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Water Wheel and Sifang Street. Step outside and you're in the bustling market, but inside, it's a tranquil oasis – truly the best of both worlds. The Song-style courtyard, with its white walls, dark tiles, and wooden corridors, is picturesque and elegant, offering photo opportunities at every turn. The rooftop viewing terrace is the absolute highlight. From there, you can take in panoramic views of the ancient town's charming rooftops and even catch a glimpse of the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance. The sunrise and nighttime views create an incredible atmosphere. I even got lucky enough to see a rainbow during my stay, which was a real treat! The guest rooms are spotless and comfortable, with soft bedding that even includes lavender sachets. Modern amenities like a smart toilet and Dyson hairdryer are provided, showing great attention to detail and ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The facilities were a wonderful surprise – they have everything: a sauna, KTV, billiards, card games, a coffee shop, and even a gym. The housekeeper was incredibly thoughtful and enthusiastic, handling luggage transfers and answering all my questions about local attractions with great care. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Lijiang!

The soft furnishings are elegant and tasteful, the bedding is soft and comfortable against the skin, and the amenities are complete and clean. The most stunning feature is the private viewing balcony, offering an unobstructed, direct view of the entire Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right from your room. You can wake up to the 'sunlit golden mountain' phenomenon from your bed in the morning, and in the evening, sit on the terrace, enjoy the breeze, and watch the clouds drift over the mountaintops – every photo you take will be postcard-perfect, with an absolutely superb and unobstructed view. I must particularly commend our dedicated butler, Elin. She proactively contacted us before check-in, confirmed our itinerary in advance, and even reminded us about the temperature differences between morning and evening. The entire check-in process was completely hassle-free. She was instantly available via WeChat, responding incredibly quickly, and arranged all additional supplies meticulously and thoughtfully. Her sense of propriety was just right – warm without being intrusive, with thoughtful details at every turn. Our entire trip was perfectly taken care of, making our travel experience truly wonderful.

GGuest UserThe room facing the street was quite quiet, which was nice. The front desk has a coffee machine, and you can ask the staff to prepare drinks for you as needed. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic and proactively offered us travel advice. Parking allows one exit within a 24-hour period, so plan your outings accordingly. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the Old Town Windmill, maybe because I walk a bit slowly, but it's definitely not just a few minutes away. The room is equipped with smart home features, and the quality of items like tissues is quite good, showing that the owner has high standards for the amenities provided.

BBreadpotatoesfriesA stunning stay! The room I picked was the 180+180 room and the view was just absolutely stunning. I recommend staying more than a day to just enjoy the views of the mountain. I was hosted by Hongliang and team who were so very attentive. They gave quick recommendations on what to eat in the vicinity and helped arranged all the activities they offered. The photography experience was especially fun and the photographer gave clear guidance and there was a good selection of outfits for ladies (just one for males). The session included makeup and hairdo as well, one per room, top up if more guests want to participate. I wish I had remembered there was a free shoot then I would have saved on the one done in the ancient city. These photos turned out really nice and you can pay a fee for each additional photo you like. Coord directly with the photog 2 days before your stay. The tea pressing activity was at a nearby tea dealer and the staff were very well versed in all types of tea, if you are a connoisseur you would enjoy it. All in all an amazing stay that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a mountain retreat.
