"Located inside the Datong old city, the inn itself is a historic building and has a history of its own. There are many interesting decors to look at in the property. The location is excellent and nearby some very good restaurants. It has a laundry room with 2 washers and 1 dryer which are very important in my opinion.The room was very nice, the cleanliness was very good and kept in very good condition. Although there was no rotating menu for the buffet breakfast each morning, the food is good and there's also beef/lamb offal rice noodles on request. The best parts about the hotel are the staff and service. They were extremely welcoming and friendly. I usually get disappointed by restaurant recommendations by hotel staff but all the restaurants recommended were excellent and not overly expensive. They could help you make a reservation (those restaurants get super busy on weekends and holidays) as well if you don't speak Chinese. We had to check out really early on the last day and the staff promptly packed us some eggs and bread for breakfast even though we didn't request it the night prior. I'm sure if you request it the day/night before, they'll be able to pack you something more substantial. I don't normally leave reviews but this property was worth my time."

"I spent 2 nights in the hotel and I can only say positive things! The room was clean and spacious, the staff was very smiley, helped me organise my trip to the Hanging Temple and despite language barrier, they were patient and we managed to communicate with one another. Furthermore, is located in the ancient city at 5-10 minuets by walk to the main attraction points within the ancient city. I would recommend you to choose this hotel."

"This stay was fantastic! The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the ancient city, and it has a car park, making travel incredibly convenient. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was great. The service was even better—truly a testament to a well-established five-star hotel. "I chose Nan She for both of my trips to Datong, spaced about twenty days apart. The first time was by chance, but the second was a deliberate choice, both reflecting my high appreciation for every aspect of Nan She. It's located right beneath the North City Wall of the ancient city, close to Daiwang Mansion and Kuixing Tower. Its proximity to the main road makes getting around very convenient. The entrance to the North City Wall is just a few minutes' walk away, offering a superb spot to watch the sunset over the ancient city. The breakfast at the guesthouse is absolutely delicious. The rooms are spotless, and the bedding is clean; every detail is perfectly executed. The overall service is beyond words – attentive, warm, and thoughtful. Choosing the right accommodation is a crucial part of enhancing the travel experience, and both of my stays here provided an excellent one. Datong is a city you'll want to revisit; the more you get to know it, the more you'll love it. The blend of history and modernity, delicious food, and beautiful scenery offers endless appeal. The room was simply yet cozy, with high-quality wooden furniture and thoughtful touches like green plants and decorative flowers in a small corner by the window. The bedding was soft and comfortable against my skin, and I slept soundly until I naturally woke up – so relaxing! The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, the facilities were clean and new, the hot water was plentiful and the water pressure was stable, and the wash area was practically designed. GGuest UserThis hotel is absolutely divine! I stayed at the Jiuholi Courtyard Homestay within Datong Ancient City for three days during my three-day trip to Datong. By the end of it, I was seriously considering saving up to buy a courtyard home myself! The owner just laughed and said, 'That's not something you can just save up for!' Hahahaha, and he's right! This little courtyard is just so peaceful and comfortable. The room temperature, amenities, and bedding quality were all excellent. Location: It's just a few minutes' walk to the ancient city, with the city wall right across the street. Getting to Huayan Temple and the Nine-Dragon Wall was super convenient, all within walking distance. Service: The service was genuinely impeccable. The owner personally handled our pick-up and drop-off, making us feel like we were being hosted by a favorite uncle – perfectly attentive without being intrusive. The front desk staff were absolutely wonderful, dedicated to providing excellent service, and always spoke softly and politely. Amenities: They had a Dyson hairdryer, L'Occitane toiletries, and a smart heated toilet seat. I finally stayed in a smart voice-controlled room in the north! [crying emoji][crying emoji] Even the five-star hotels I've stayed in didn't have voice control, but this place does! Living Environment: It was so quiet and peaceful. Plus, during my stay, the other guests were all very considerate; I didn't hear a peep from anyone else. I absolutely loved the room decor! I seriously want the hotel's design plans, haha! GGuest UserI can’t stop raving about this inn. It is a B&B style three stories tall inn located inside the Datong Ancient City. Complimentary shuttle service between the airport or railway station made it really convenient for out of town travelers. The guest room was clean and equipped with modern facilities like automatic toilets, coded entry, projection screens, etc. The inn is located near the north gate of the city amongst other accommodations. Within minutes of walking is access to the top of the city wall where bike rental is available to ride along the wall. The inn is very quiet at night. The inn is family operated and everyone was very hospitable. What sets this inn apart from other accommodations in the area is their dedication to service. The owner knew I was a tourist and new to the area, she offered to pick me up if I got lost wandering the ancient city. The breakfast came with my reservation. When the owner found out I had to depart before breakfast serving hours, she went above and beyond to prepare food and served me 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The food tasted amazing and came with abundant varieties and huge portions. It was definitely not part of the service to drop off at another venue, but the owner took me to my next accommodation 2km away. I truly appreciate everything this inn and its staff has done for me. I am so glad to have chosen to stay this beautiful little inn on my first night in Datong. I will definitely stay here again without a doubt on my next visit.

DDafeieThe room was great, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The courtyard (siheyuan) is absolutely beautiful. The underground parking was also very convenient. The service was excellent. I didn't use my car for two days, so leaving wasn't the smoothest. I had to rush to Yungang Grottoes and left before 7 AM, getting a bit delayed at the entrance. The parking fee was 100 RMB (even though there was a free parking voucher, it didn't link successfully), but the owner paid it for me. This is a very responsible establishment, and both the owner and the housekeeper are wonderful. The location is super convenient, and the breakfast is incredibly delicious. Many thanks!

Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist.

GGuest UserI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport

JJames56It was a pleasant surprise to see such a bright and cheerful room, so close to the train station and a shopping mall and hypermarket. The lady at the reception was very helpful and pleasant. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom has very good shower and drainage. The best we have seen! On top of that, we were allowed to do our laundry for free! Transport was convenient. Lots of buses around and easy to visit the tourist attractions. Highly recommend this hotel!
