"First off, the guesthouse's location is excellent. It's on the quieter northern side of the old town, very peaceful, not far from the parking lot, and close enough to the main road for easy taxi access. The room has a simple, clean aesthetic, and what you see is truly what you get. Although Datong in Chinese New Year was quite cold, the room temperature was perfect – short sleeves were fine.
During this trip to Datong, we experienced both a sandstorm and a cold front, but what left the deepest impression on me was the guesthouse's front desk staff. Our group of over ten people stayed for four days, and both ladies working shifts at the front desk were incredibly kind, polite, gentle, and patient. Since most of our group is Hui Muslim, they were constantly concerned about our dining needs and recommended restaurants for us.
While breakfast was a bit of a walk from the guesthouse, the food was delicious. Every day I looked forward to the breakfast's knife-cut noodles, and the vegetarian toppings were also tasty. The lady at the restaurant was very warm and genuine, and her local accent made her sound especially friendly.
My companions all agreed that choosing this guesthouse was a great success, and we'll definitely stay here again if we have the chance to visit Datong!"
