"The location is fantastic! Right outside the door is the Drum Tower, making it super convenient for dining and sightseeing. All the main attractions are within a 10-15 minute walk. The staff are warm and friendly, always making eye contact and greeting you proactively. The room was clean, tidy, bright, and had a great view. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the whole room is controlled by the smart speaker 'Xiao Du', which even talks back, haha. I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Datong."

Hotel near Ancient City Tourist Cultural Area,Datong
It is very close to the old city, 10 minutes by bike and 5 minutes by car. On the way to Yungang Grottoes, the traffic is convenient.

"Hygiene: The room is very clean, with disposable bath towels and disposable slippers. Facilities: Everything is new, including TV, air conditioning and bathroom. Environment: Located in an old neighborhood in Pingcheng District, it is relatively quiet and has a good geographical location. It is located in the southwest corner outside the ancient city of Datong. It costs less than 8 yuan to take a taxi to the Qingyuan Gate of the ancient city. When you go out of the B&B and turn north to cross an intersection, you will reach Yunjinhui and Zini 369, which are convenient for dining and gatherings. Not far to the east is the starting station of Bus Company 4. You can take Bus No. 3 directly to the Yungang Grottoes, and it is also convenient to take the bus to the Qingyuan Gate of the ancient city. Service: Satisfactory. The boss also gave me a small gift package during the National Day. Due to the rush of the trip, I didn't take any pictures of the indoor facilities, but compared to the level of a B&B, it's still very good. Compared with the prices of big hotels, the price/performance ratio here is really good."

GGuest UserThis is the third time my family and I have visited Datong. The first two times we stayed in hotels, but this time we wanted to try a guesthouse. After checking reviews on Dazhong Dianping, we chose Bo.Yuan Guesthouse (Huayan Temple Branch) because of the traveler comments and its 4.9 high rating. The experience was excellent, so I wanted to share my review. The day before our trip, the guesthouse manager proactively called us to discuss our itinerary in Datong and our mode of transportation. She also offered a pick-up service, so we provided our travel details. Before we arrived at Datong South Station, a lady called to confirm the pick-up time and location, and informed us of her arrival time. When we got to the waiting area, we waited for about two minutes. The guesthouse lady called again, repeatedly apologizing for being two minutes late. She reconfirmed our waiting spot and described what she was wearing so we wouldn't miss her. When we met her, she didn't look like a typical pick-up driver, but rather a very elegant and young lady. She greeted my family and me warmly, saying, ”I'm so sorry for being two minutes late. The hotel is quite busy today, and the regular pick-up driver couldn't make it. After they told me, I rushed over to pick you up myself. Our hotel values integrity, and since we promised a pick-up service, even if there was no available car, I couldn't use a ride-hailing app. So, I truly apologize for being a few minutes late.” From this conversation, we learned that she was the female owner of the guesthouse. Throughout the journey, she was very talkative and friendly, making us feel completely at ease. She introduced us to the guesthouse and the unique features of Datong, and soon we arrived at the guesthouse. We chatted a lot with her during the short half-hour drive—perhaps it was fate. **1. Guesthouse Environment and Service:** Upon arriving at the guesthouse courtyard, we found it to be a very distinctive Siheyuan (quadrangle courtyard). The staff were all very enthusiastic, proactively helping us with our luggage and offering us tea. Since we arrived before check-in time, our room was still being cleaned. To minimize our waiting time, the owner personally urged the cleaning staff to finish quickly. She also used the waiting time to introduce us to the guesthouse's room features and restaurant. Once the room was ready, our room was on the second floor. The staff proactively helped us take our luggage up and turned on the air conditioning. Inside the room, it felt wonderful. Although the room retained the ancient charm of a Siheyuan, the infrastructure was very modern and high-tech, featuring central air conditioning, button-controlled panels, a projector instead of a TV, and an electric toilet. The hotel amenities also catered thoughtfully to modern women, such as essential oils in the toiletries, and provided toilet seat covers, disinfectant wipes, and wet wipes. Additionally, the welcome fruit quality was excellent; the owner mentioned she personally selected and purchased everything herself. The room was very quiet. I usually have trouble sleeping, but this time, I didn't experience insomnia due to changing locations. Instead, I slept exceptionally well because of the tranquil courtyard. **2. Guesthouse Breakfast:** From the room to the restaurant, every staff member we encountered greeted us warmly. In the restaurant, the staff proactively introduced the breakfast options and asked if we needed any help. The breakfast selection was very rich, combining Western and Chinese dishes to satisfy every guest's palate. There was vegetable salad, fruit platters, coffee, milk, yogurt, sausages, grilled chicken wings, stir-fried baby cabbage, bread, sweet potatoes, corn, purple rice paste, knife-cut noodles, wontons, and dumplings. The ingredients for these dishes were all personally selected and purchased by the owner, ensuring their freshness. All dishes were freshly prepared by the chef and tasted excellent. Although the restaurant might not be as large or offer as many varieties as four or five-star hotels, the quality of ingredients and taste were certainly on par with their culinary standards. Escaping the hustle and bustle of the big city for a weekend in Datong, our short two-day trip is coming to an end. The cultural heritage of Datong, its unique cuisine, and our stay at Bo.Yuan Guesthouse have all left a wonderful impression on me. Next time I visit Datong, I will definitely choose Bo.Yuan Guesthouse again. I wish the owner great success in her business! See you next time, Datong!

YYezifeixiangDatong Lanzhuxuan B&B experience full marks! There are free parking spaces for self-driving, and parking is very convenient. The staff was warmly received, and the store manager Xiaohai was particularly responsible and took the initiative to help make reservations for restaurants and queue up. Our three households stayed in three rooms on the first floor. The layout was very suitable. It was very pleasant to sit in the atrium and enjoy tea. The rooms are equipped with disposable kettles, bath towels and face towels, clean and intimate. The homestay is a courtyard house in the villa area, quiet in the middle of noisy, within walking distance to the Drum Tower, Huayan Temple, and surrounded by food. Breakfast is exquisite Jiugong grid snacks, pickled noodles, knife noodles can be selected, can also help freshly ground coffee, service is meticulous, highly recommended!

GGuest UserAs a solo traveler, I was a little apprehensive before my trip, secretly hoping there wouldn't be any unpleasant surprises, but it turns out I worried too much. This place boasts an excellent location in Wulong Alley, with beautiful surroundings that are safe and comfortable, and fully equipped facilities. Because it's not right next to the busiest snack streets, it's very quiet at night, allowing for a truly restful sleep – huge thumbs up! It's close to the North City Wall and convenient for visiting attractions like Huayan Temple, Daiwangfu, and the Nine Dragon Screen in the ancient city. It was also easy to reach all the eateries on my must-try list, such as Longjuxiang, Zini 369, Heshengcai, and Xijindao Snacks, and I managed to check them all off! I passed by Kuixing Tower and its wishing doll countless times; perhaps it was fate, haha 😄. For those who are too lazy to even walk a kilometer, there are shared bikes available. The owner is incredibly welcoming; they contacted me half a day in advance, added me on WeChat, and waited for me at the entrance. They went over all the important details and even asked about my breakfast preferences for the next day. The breakfast itself was perfectly portioned, exquisite, and nutritious. This place exceeded my expectations, another big thumbs up! Choosing this accommodation has made me even more excited for future solo travels. I hope the owner's business thrives, and I look forward to returning with my child and family sometime in the future for another visit.

GGuest UserI chose Nan She for both of my trips to Datong, spaced about twenty days apart. The first time was by chance, but the second was a deliberate choice, both reflecting my high appreciation for every aspect of Nan She. It's located right beneath the North City Wall of the ancient city, close to Daiwang Mansion and Kuixing Tower. Its proximity to the main road makes getting around very convenient. The entrance to the North City Wall is just a few minutes' walk away, offering a superb spot to watch the sunset over the ancient city. The breakfast at the guesthouse is absolutely delicious. The rooms are spotless, and the bedding is clean; every detail is perfectly executed. The overall service is beyond words – attentive, warm, and thoughtful. Choosing the right accommodation is a crucial part of enhancing the travel experience, and both of my stays here provided an excellent one. Datong is a city you'll want to revisit; the more you get to know it, the more you'll love it. The blend of history and modernity, delicious food, and beautiful scenery offers endless appeal. A big thank you to all the staff at Nan She. Your hard work contributes to the dreamy Datong of today and will surely bring you an even brighter future! Wishing you all the best! 🌹🌹🌹

GGuest UserFacilities: The design is excellent, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged and very practical. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable; lying down felt so therapeutic, and I fell asleep almost instantly. Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable. Environment: The location is perfect, within walking distance of Daiwang Mansion, Drum Tower, and Huayan Temple. After watching the iron flower performance at night, it was just a short stroll back to bed. Service: The service was incredibly attentive and prompt. The butler recommended many delicious local eateries, and they were all indeed fantastic. The tea at the front desk was also delightful; I'd fill my thermos every time I went out – it was so comforting. They even offered a thoughtful bedtime gift, making the overall experience incredibly pleasant.

1118942****On this trip, after leaving my job, I've stayed in many places, but Datong was the most surprising city. It's full of historical sites, delicious food, and a vibrant, down-to-earth atmosphere. But what surprised me even more was the guesthouse I chose. I did extensive research and ultimately decided to stay within the ancient city, which turned out to be incredibly convenient for dining, lodging, and getting around. It was fantastic and perfectly suited me. Initially, I considered guesthouses in the Southeast District, but they were all new, and their styles were quite similar and unremarkable, much like guesthouses in other cities. So, I picked one with unique traditional Chinese characteristics, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was exactly to my liking – nutritious and light. The room was warm and cozy, and the toiletry kit was amazing, with thoughtful items inside. Even though it's been in the ancient city for ten years, the decor and renovation show no sign of age; it's incredibly well-maintained. The housekeeper mentioned they had just upgraded all the rooms before my arrival, haha! 😄 This guesthouse truly helped my restless mind calm down. It felt like staying in a museum. The aunties and housekeepers working here told me stories about every single object and corner, which deeply moved me. This is what a guesthouse should be – unpretentious and full of stories. The biggest surprise this time was having the chance to meet the owner, a wonderful lady. She was so nice, I initially thought she was just another staff member; she had absolutely no airs. More importantly, her experiences and background are incredible – she does extreme sports and has even climbed Mount Everest! Talking with her made me feel so comfortable and helped me let go of a lot of things. Thank you for the encounter; it was truly destiny. This was the most unexpected gain from my trip to Datong, and I will definitely go back if I get the chance! It felt just like home, with no sense of unfamiliarity whatsoever.

QQingzhebabaThe hotel's location is superb; it's the perfect choice for exploring the old city, with all the sights and great food nearby. The hotel is very clean, the restaurant food is delicious, and the staff provide excellent service. As I was traveling alone and wanted to try local specialties, the staff kindly reduced the portion sizes, which was great – tasty and no waste! The room facilities are new, but there's a minor issue: the sink and shower are in separate areas, and the bath towels are kept under the sink. This makes it inconvenient to grab a towel after showering. If you take it into the shower beforehand, there's nowhere to hang it. Perhaps a hook could be added?

AALY2018The room is not in and out as shown in the picture; there are many restaurants nearby, not far from Mingtang. Very clean, the projection is easy to use, the most important thing is that the service is in place! I left in a hurry today and forgot to take pictures. I left my ID card in the room. The sister at the front desk was very good and went to the room to help me find it as soon as possible. Thank you very much. Occasionally, the young lady will reply after working hours at night, and I will definitely book this one next time!

GGuest UserI've been to Datong twice, and this time I stayed in a guesthouse in the ancient city, which was a truly different experience. First off, the service was impeccable, far superior to any star-rated hotel. From booking to check-in and check-out, the staff's service-oriented mindset was excellent and incredibly thoughtful. Next, the decor: it's anything but the cookie-cutter style you find in hotels. From the lobby to the rooms, everything is unique and distinctive, I'd say it's an Italian style. The bedding and amenities in the room are all branded, and there's plenty of hot water. Breakfast is a nine-grid affair, and the sliced noodles were delicious. The coffee at the front desk was also good. They even offer free try-ons for travel photography outfits. Overall, the experience was fantastic and really changed my perception of guesthouses. I'll definitely come back to experience it again if I get the chance!
