Stepping into the room, I was instantly captivated by its brand-new, luxurious feel. Everything was new, with no unpleasant odors, just a fresh, natural wood scent.
🏠 Ambiance: The decor is exquisite and thoughtfully designed. With the warm lighting, the atmosphere is instantly elevated – they really understand what young people are looking for.
🛏️ Facilities: The mattress was perfectly balanced, not too soft, not too firm, and I slept soundly all night. The bathroom features high-end brands, and the water pressure is strong, making a shower feel like a spa treatment.
❤️ Service: The front desk staff were as friendly as an older brother next door, responding quickly to any request. The experience was absolutely perfect.

The B&B is located in the southeast pedestrian street of the center of Datong Ancient City. It only takes10-20 minutes to walk to Huayan Temple, Fahua Temple, Jiulongbi, Daiwangfu and Drum Tower. It can also park for free by car and travel is super convenient. The housekeeper is online 24 hours a day, and sends detailed guides before check-in. They are super positive to carry luggage and answer questions. The whole process is smiling and professional and warm. The room is very stylish, the Jin Keer mattress sleeps soundly, and the private kitchen breakfast is exquisite and delicious. Next time I come to Datong, I will choose here, highly recommended! KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

GGuest UserI've wanted to stay here for a long time, and this family trip finally made that dream come true. The check-in experience was excellent, and the facilities showed incredible attention to detail. The complimentary toiletries pack even included electric toothbrushes and Gillette razors, and all the snacks provided were from Sam's Club. Breakfast was exceptional – an à la carte style where they'd prepare whatever you ordered. Everything tasted fantastic, and there were plenty of choices. Enjoying delicious pastries in the courtyard under the sun was a truly wonderful experience!
In the evening, friends came over, and we sat on the courtyard sofa, chatted, drank tea, and watched the clouds in the night sky. We even caught a drone show from Dai Wang Mansion, which was truly delightful! We also toured the owner's private museum and wine cellar. It certainly lives up to its reputation as a courtyard built with 200 million yuan; the main gate in the middle is 200 years old. Every detail exudes taste and grandeur!
The service was excellent too. Although there weren't many staff members, they were very responsive. When my shoes got wet in the heavy rain, they even brought a hairdryer to dry them for me – I was truly grateful! In short, the value for money at this price is unbeatable! Five-star recommendation! 👍👍👍👍👍
Overall, a fantastic stay, but I do have a few suggestions to offer:
1. Only the door could be opened for ventilation in the room; the windows didn't open. It would be great if there was a way to allow for cross-ventilation.
2. The hotel doesn't provide parking vouchers. While overnight parking was only 20 yuan, offering vouchers would enhance the guest experience.
3. Perhaps due to concerns about some guests occupying a room with too many people, I was repeatedly asked during check-in how many individuals were staying in our room, which I found a bit off-putting.

SsongannaThis hotel is a courtyard-style hotel, and the room is as pictured. The room was fully equipped with a minibar and was very comfortable, perfectly worth the location and price. It's even better off during the off-season! 🤣 The fan was a little awkward, located directly above the bed (perhaps it was unique to our room), making it a bit uncomfortable to sleep with.
The service was excellent.
The front desk lady, Keke, was very attentive. If we were out for a long time that day, she would notice and ask if we wanted a foot bath. She also recommended the delicious jelly we had at the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. It was truly delicious! Even better than Shunyi!
In the evening, it was so relaxing to sit in the rocking chair in the courtyard, listen to some music, and have a drink.

GGuest UserI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries.
The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included.
The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride.
My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room.
The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily.
If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn.
*I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out.

The second floor is next to the clear bar and there is an elevator. The third floor is a family room, and the indoor layout is consistent with the picture. It is very close to the scenic spot, Xijin Road, Fenglin Pavilion, 369, all nearby, within walking distance. Accommodation must be made up at the same time, there are surprises.
