GGuest UserFacilities: The hotel should be newly renovated, the style is more suitable for young people, and the whole house is smart. It is the first night that may be the reason for taking a bath very late. The bath water temperature is quite cold, and the shower is finished. Hygienic: The room and the hotel public area are very clean and tidy, and the room is cleaned very well. Environment: The hotel is in the southeast, and the surrounding cultural and creative atmosphere is quite strong. Service: A group was built before check-in, asking if you need to pick up the station, the hotel staff are very warm and polite, and will greet you cordially when you meet. Good night sweet soup, afternoon tea, etc. are also provided every day, and breakfast is more nutritious and healthy. In addition, when I booked at that time, because I was a gold diamond, I saw that there was an executive lounge rights when I booked. I didn't take the initiative to introduce how my rights could be used when I checked in. I said that as a hotel guest, I had a discount of several percent at night. I don't know if it's the same thing. But the fly in the ointment is that on the day of the last check-out, because in the morning in the ancient city, the hair was sprayed with black dye, and it was impossible to continue to travel. I thought that I could wash my hair after taking a photo, but the time to come back after the shooting was very fast. Ask the clerk if he can check out late. It means that the cockroach can delay up to 12:30, and finally rushed back all the way to pack up the luggage and check out. As a result, at around 14:40 pm Trip.com I also called to ask if I checked out. I don’t know which link made a mistake. When negotiating late check-out, I still can’t limit the time at all. As a result, people are on the high-speed rail and ask if they have checked out. Is it understandable that the check-out time can be negotiated? When I left, I pushed the big box to the suitcase. As a result, I saw the small battery car in the store on the way to the parking lot and picked up two guests to the store. When I checked out, there was no clerk asking if I needed a small battery to be sent to the parking lot. Looking at the comments, everyone will have a big companion to take a gift. It seems that in addition to the bookmarks, steam eye masks and other things in the room at check-in, they have not received the same treatment in the comments. I don’t know why, because it’s not very pleasant to negotiate a late check-out? Overall, it can be said that I have been relatively unpleasant in recent years.

AAganzhongjiezheThis guesthouse is incredibly charming and artistic, it feels like being in Sanya or Chengdu! It has a terrace, a small courtyard, three floors above ground and one basement floor. The rooms are spotless, and the bathrooms are very modern, with heated toilets, sensor lights, automatic curtains, and more. Considering all these amenities, the price is an absolute steal! There's even an elevator inside. The owner is lovely and even personally cooks breakfast, making the whole experience feel very homely and warm. If I hadn't been in such a rush, I would have loved to stay a few more days. The location is perfect, you can see the ancient city right from the entrance. Five-star recommendation!

KKatrin SauthoffMy husband and I are a couple from Germany. We booked two nights there, and our decision was absolutely the right one. From the initial contact (via the WeChat app, which is essential for your entire trip to China) to our departure, everything was perfect. We were picked up from the train station by car and taken to the hotel free of charge. This is especially good for Western tourists who don't speak Chinese. The first problem would have been explaining to the taxi where we wanted to go. The lobby and rooms are very beautiful, stylish, and equipped with the highest technology. Most of the guest rooms face the inner courtyard, so you can sleep very quietly and comfortably. The beds are very large and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent. It's located on the northern edge of the Ancient City of Datong, just a few minutes' walk from the tourist attractions and the colorful and lively old town. So you can enjoy it without being disturbed by noise. I would especially like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately, we don't speak Chinese, and the staff didn't speak English, but with the help of modern communication tools (language apps), we understood each other perfectly. Every request was fulfilled. There's even the option to use a washing machine in the basement of the hotel. This is especially fantastic for tourists on longer trips to China, as it allows for easy laundry. If you ever come back to China, we will definitely book this hotel again.

GGuest UserI've wanted to stay here for a long time, and this family trip finally made that dream come true. The check-in experience was excellent, and the facilities showed incredible attention to detail. The complimentary toiletries pack even included electric toothbrushes and Gillette razors, and all the snacks provided were from Sam's Club. Breakfast was exceptional – an à la carte style where they'd prepare whatever you ordered. Everything tasted fantastic, and there were plenty of choices. Enjoying delicious pastries in the courtyard under the sun was a truly wonderful experience! In the evening, friends came over, and we sat on the courtyard sofa, chatted, drank tea, and watched the clouds in the night sky. We even caught a drone show from Dai Wang Mansion, which was truly delightful! We also toured the owner's private museum and wine cellar. It certainly lives up to its reputation as a courtyard built with 200 million yuan; the main gate in the middle is 200 years old. Every detail exudes taste and grandeur! The service was excellent too. Although there weren't many staff members, they were very responsive. When my shoes got wet in the heavy rain, they even brought a hairdryer to dry them for me – I was truly grateful! In short, the value for money at this price is unbeatable! Five-star recommendation! 👍👍👍👍👍 Overall, a fantastic stay, but I do have a few suggestions to offer: 1. Only the door could be opened for ventilation in the room; the windows didn't open. It would be great if there was a way to allow for cross-ventilation. 2. The hotel doesn't provide parking vouchers. While overnight parking was only 20 yuan, offering vouchers would enhance the guest experience. 3. Perhaps due to concerns about some guests occupying a room with too many people, I was repeatedly asked during check-in how many individuals were staying in our room, which I found a bit off-putting.

GGuest UserDuring my 5-week trip back to China, I visited Shenzhen, Kunming, Xishuangbanna, Xi'an, Datong, and Beijing. I initially planned for three days in Datong but extended it to five because Xijing Courtyard was just too comfortable to leave! This courtyard hotel is exquisitely decorated with impeccable taste, and the staff are warm and attentive. The cold side dishes and stir-fried vegetarian dishes at breakfast were exceptional; I later found out from the front desk that a professional chef prepares the breakfast. Without a doubt, Xijing Courtyard was our favorite hotel on this trip!

GGuest UserDatong Jixia Mountain, 3600 a night – seriously, avoid this place. I guess you could say it's the best hotel in Datong, but by the same token, it absolutely does not live up to its price. Maybe it's because Wen Yu Tang gave me so many pleasant surprises that I had such high hopes for Jixia Mountain, but it turns out, with very few exceptions, B&Bs are just B&Bs. The fact is, don't set your expectations too high. The entire public area feels like it's purely for Instagram check-ins. Everyone comes here determined to get that perfect shot. All the facilities are incredibly user-unfriendly, plus the key card system often takes multiple attempts to work. Inside, the cheap, hard finishes are just indescribable. Did the designer even consider the actual guest experience when they designed this place? The most outrageous issues are the privacy and lighting in the room. The bedroom in my room had a huge glass window directly facing the outdoor corridor, separated only by a wooden fence. I could clearly see the opposite rooms and courtyard. I was hoping the turndown service would be more thoughtful, but the staff didn't even bother to close the blackout curtains on the corridor side. I wanted to get a good night's sleep, but then I realized there were an insane number of light sources in the room. After turning off all the lights, all the switch buttons glowed in the dark. I was already exhausted from a packed day of 'special forces'-style sightseeing, and I couldn't sleep well because of these glowing buttons. Then, early in the morning, I was woken up directly by sunlight streaming in from the corridor. Now I'm utterly exhausted. The only thing I can praise is the staff. They were very enthusiastic and you could tell they tried very hard to meet guests' requests, but the overall service process still felt quite clunky. Never mind. Paying this price really bought me a lesson. The cost of having such high expectations was utter disappointment. (The restaurant food, however, was unexpectedly good, much lighter than outside, and the staff were very warm.)

GGuest UserI was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport

GGuest UserStaying at Ruifeng Tower was definitely the best decision for our Datong trip! The hotel is located right in the heart of the ancient city, within walking distance of attractions like Huayan Temple and Shanhua Temple, making it super convenient. The rooms have an antique charm, and when you open the window, you're greeted with the sight of traditional courtyards and intricate eaves. What truly delighted me were the books in the room. Reading them before bed, the glory of Pingcheng during the Northern Wei Dynasty and the prosperity of the Liao and Jin secondary capitals came alive on the pages, adding a wonderful cultural depth to our journey. The breakfast buffet was abundant, and the staff were warm and professional. Next time I'm in Datong, I'll definitely choose Ruifeng Tower again, to immerse myself in the unique charm of this ancient capital amidst its scholarly ambiance and historic beauty!

AAnonymous UserFive-star review! First off, the room was spotless, with clean and fresh bedding and bathroom facilities, making for a very comfortable stay. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, genuinely helpful with any issues, providing an excellent service experience. The location is quite easy to find, behind Daiwangfu, and while it's a bit of a distance from the ancient city's core, taxis are readily available. Friends who enjoy peace and quiet will love it here, as you won't be disturbed by the crowds and noise of the scenic area. Just a quick note on breakfast: there wasn't a huge variety, and it paled in comparison to more extensive hotel buffets. However, it was perfectly fine for a simple meal to start the day. Aside from this minor breakfast drawback, the guesthouse's facilities, service, and ambiance were outstanding, offering great value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

TTaniaThe hotel has very spacious and comfortable rooms. The breakfast is only Chinese, but rich and plentiful. We can't comment on the location because we always took taxis to the attractions around Datong (the wooden pagoda, hanging monasteries, and the Yungang Grottoes), but right next to the hotel are plenty of restaurants and places to grab a quick bite. The staff seemed helpful, but no one spoke English, so we had to use a translation app, which wasn't always accurate, and communication was somewhat hampered.
