Hotels with Bars in Datong

This was the only hotel in Shanxi that proactively called us before our trip (proactive service is essential and leaves a good impression on guests). They also offer airport pick-up/drop-off, which was arranged in advance and very thoughtful. They even set up a chat group for communication, which was timely and effective. The guesthouse is located right in Dongnan Yi, making it very convenient to get around and saving a lot of travel time. The breakfast every morning was substantial; my friends even joked it was like a confinement meal, very nourishing, haha. The amenities in the room were also from brands favored by high-end guesthouses nowadays~

The brand really makes a difference; the quality is truly guaranteed. I've stayed at Huazhu before in Zhejiang, but this was my first time at Lux, and it's definitely a cut above. First off, the decor is incredibly distinctive – the furniture, bedding, oil paintings, and everything else show exceptional taste. The service was also incredibly thoughtful; they patiently explained local delicacies and sightseeing tips. Breakfast was great too, especially the knife-cut noodles, which tasted just as good as any outside noodle shop. We even made coffee soap! It's very convenient for visiting Daiwang Mansion and Huayan Temple. Highly recommended!

A very cozy and comfortable B&B, located right in the ancient town's pedestrian street, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling area. The courtyard is spacious, the rooms are clean, and all amenities are of high quality. Breakfast is plentiful, and the staff are friendly. The location is excellent, with all of the ancient town's attractions within walking distance, which is great when traveling with kids as it saves a lot of hassle. Plus, many popular restaurants often have long queues, but because this place is so close, you can easily grab takeout and enjoy your meal back at the hotel, saving a lot of waiting time. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Datong.

A small inn inside a new development within the old city, within a few minutes walk of the city wall, where you can climb up and walk the wall.    The hotel and surrounding development was created in the traditional style.     Clean, newly built , managed well, provided a good breakfast,  room furnishings were a higher quality than an average hotel.     Underground parking garage was convenient.     If I had to improve anything, I would find a way to turn off the bath area sink mirror night light.   It was distracting to try to sleep with the room bathed in bright blue light ( more like a studio, not a fully separate bathroom )... I ended up sticking a towel against it to block most of the light.

I found my favorite hotel of this trip! My trip was spontaneous, and I decided to visit Datong last minute. I booked the hotel hastily, primarily based on its aesthetics and location. After checking in, my experience exceeded my expectations! It's incredibly beautiful and stylish, blending modern design with the ancient charm I anticipated in Datong. The most important thing was the excellent service. Since I didn't plan ahead, on my first day, the front desk staff, Vivian, Tongtong, and Xiaoyu, helped me plan my itinerary for sightseeing, dining, and entertainment, offering tons of suggestions and information. The super lovely proprietress even helped me find a highly professional tour guide for my visit to the Yungang Grottoes the next day! (Having previously visited the Longmen Grottoes and Gaxian Cave, I wanted to connect the historical dots with the Yungang Grottoes, and I was so glad to have such an academic and professional guide who could delve deep into any questions I had). Everyone was warm and attentive! Highly, highly recommend!

Staying at Datong Jixiashan offers an immersive experience of the Eastern aesthetics of the ancient Northern Wei city. The hotel is located within the ancient city walls, providing a quiet retreat amidst the bustling surroundings. Its courtyards unfold in layers, with rammed earth walls and grotto elements harmoniously blended. Every corner of the public areas is picture-perfect. The butler service is attentive and thoughtful, making for an excellent stay. The rooms boast a premium feel, and the mini-bar snacks and drinks are all complimentary (excluding red wine). In the evening, a warm peach gum sweet soup is delivered. Breakfast is a semi-buffet, with local specialty noodles standing out. The hotel is within walking distance of the city walls and major ancient architectural sites, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The only minor drawback is that some room lighting is a bit dim, which might be better suited for guests who appreciate humanistic design and seek a resort-like atmosphere.

This hotel is a gem that I've rebooked multiple times! For this trip, we had a larger family group, and the hotel thoughtfully arranged two triple family rooms for us. The overall stay was, once again, perfect, making it ideal for families traveling together. The triple family rooms are exceptionally spacious, with a well-planned bed layout and ample space between beds, so it never felt cramped. Everyone had their own independent resting area, making it comfortable and not at all crowded for both adults and children. The room hygiene was meticulously maintained; the bedding was clean, tidy, and odor-free, even the corners were spotless. The bathroom was dry and clean with stable and abundant hot water, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The service from the staff was as considerate and attentive as ever. They proactively coordinated and meticulously arranged the room types based on our check-in needs. Their responses were prompt, and communication was smooth, making the entire stay worry-free and reassuring. Both rooms met the same high standards and had consistent environments, which all my family members absolutely loved. Whether it's for a family trip with kids, a gathering with friends and relatives, or a short family getaway, the triple family rooms offer incredible value for money and practicality! I've chosen this hotel multiple times, and the quality is consistently high, providing a reliable and stable experience. I'll definitely be coming back for future trips and truly recommend it to everyone!

We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this hotel! The location is perfect for exploring the city center on foot. The hotel is brand new while beautifully preserving a traditional Chinese style, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. They went above and beyond to meet all of our needs and even welcomed us with a lovely afternoon snack, which was a very thoughtful touch. The breakfast was delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine with a wide variety of choices. We especially appreciated how seriously they take food allergies and dietary requirements, something that is unfortunately not common everywhere. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate every request made us feel truly cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely come back on our next visit!

Five-star review! First off, the room was spotless, with clean and fresh bedding and bathroom facilities, making for a very comfortable stay. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, genuinely helpful with any issues, providing an excellent service experience. The location is quite easy to find, behind Daiwangfu, and while it's a bit of a distance from the ancient city's core, taxis are readily available. Friends who enjoy peace and quiet will love it here, as you won't be disturbed by the crowds and noise of the scenic area. Just a quick note on breakfast: there wasn't a huge variety, and it paled in comparison to more extensive hotel buffets. However, it was perfectly fine for a simple meal to start the day. Aside from this minor breakfast drawback, the guesthouse's facilities, service, and ambiance were outstanding, offering great value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!
