Thanks to its privileged location, the hotel has played host to a number of global political leaders. For business travelers, small conference rooms are on hand for private events and meetings.
"If you want to fully explore the Chengde Mountain Resort, then avoid the summer holidays and stay at the Qi Wang Lou. While a bit pricey, it's truly worth it. It's only a 292-meter walk to the main gate of the resort, and the hotel itself is a historical site. The Qi Wang Lou was built in 1750 and is the sixth of the thirty-six scenic spots named by Emperor Qianlong within the Mountain Resort. With only 57 rooms, it's like staying directly in Emperor Qianlong's grand study. There are even trees personally planted by Qianlong in the courtyard, along with deer, peacocks, and cats kept by the hotel. In the mornings, the deer roam around. The key is that there are fewer crowds and the scenery is beautiful; it actually feels more like a scenic spot than the crowded main resort. This time, I was with family, so we chose a two-bedroom suite. To my surprise, it was the same type of suite used by dignitaries – spacious, comfortable, quiet, and clean. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights, and it was quite good. Every staff member was kind, friendly, and attentive."

"The rooms at Atour are consistently clean and comfortable, providing a sense of peace. The front desk staff and the service personnel on the 10th floor were very enthusiastic, attentive, and thoughtful. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of the Summer Palace, which allowed us to visit early and avoid tour groups, making for a great experience. We also didn't have to queue for the mountain shuttle before 8 AM. Furthermore, everything you could need is right downstairs, including various restaurants, bubble tea and coffee shops, malls, and supermarkets. I would definitely choose this place again next time."

Taxis, in particular, are very accessible and inexpensive, so you don't need to drive to attractions. Attraction parking lots are often too small and inconvenient for self-driving. Service: Very attentive, any issues were resolved immediately. The hotel restaurant, especially, has great food; we ate all three nights at the restaurant on the fourth floor. "Came to Chengde for a visit in between catching a basketball game in Beijing. Saw great reviews for Zhaofeng International on Trip.com, and it didn't disappoint! The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, with a clean and well-maintained bathroom that had a separate shower and toilet. My only minor complaint was that the shower water temperature tended to fluctuate. The breakfast area was huge, and the food was varied and tasty. It was easy to get a taxi from the hotel to various attractions. A slight bummer was getting soaked in a downpour when I went to the Summer Resort, but overall, it was a really good experience! 💟"

"I always stay at this hotel when passing through Chengde, and this time I booked it directly based on a recommendation from Ctrip. During check-in, I was told it was a special offer room, located at the very edge of the hotel. Thinking I was only staying one night and needed to travel the next day, I didn't pay much attention. However, as soon as I entered the room, I was overwhelmed by the strong smell of smoke. Around 4 AM, it suddenly became incredibly noisy downstairs, like people picking me up at the station shouting loudly. This lasted for over half an hour, waking me up. This is the first time I've encountered this situation in three stays. If I had been told beforehand that it would be this noisy, I would definitely have paid extra to change rooms. After all, I had to drive on the highway the next day, and not getting enough rest really affects my performance. For those driving, please be aware of this beforehand and ask about the room location and noise levels!"

The hotel's location is excellent; it's just a two-minute walk from the hotel exit to the ticket office."

Perfect service, clean and modern facilities, unbeatable location. I originally booked a small budget room as I was travelling solo and only needed a room for a night after hiking the Great Wall. I received a free room upgrade and I was so grateful as I was so much more knackered after my hike than I’d anticipated! The bed was comfortable and spacious, the shower and bathroom was modern and clean. The location was a few minute walk away from the Jinshanling gate. Perfect for catching the sunrise at the Great Wall in the morning. The restaurant run by the homestay host family was delicious and each serving is generous. I had stewed cabbage and pork and serving of rice and it was exactly what I needed after my hike! Flawless experience and a major part of an experience of a lifetime. I hope to stay here again next time.

Stayed here with my kids while visiting Jinshanling Great Wall. It's within walking distance to the scenic area and parking is free. The courtyard is quiet and clean, so we slept comfortably. It offers great value for money, and you can even stargaze at night. The Chinese breakfast is simple, and you can order stir-fries for lunch and dinner. A small suggestion: it would be great to have a mop in the bathroom so guests can clean up after showering.

This is my second time visiting Wulingshan, and I chose Lanye Hotel again~ I've been eating breakfast at Shangu (Valley) restaurant, and I'm very satisfied, having eaten there for two consecutive days. I especially love the wild vegetable buns. The hotel was also incredibly thoughtful; knowing I was pregnant, they prepared an air purifier and a pregnancy pillow for me~ They also arranged for a high-floor room, so it wasn't noisy at all. They really put their heart into it!

The environment is beautiful, a true feast for the eyes and a perfect place to relax. It's wonderful for some alone time. There's a pool on the third floor where you can swim while enjoying the lush green mountains and trees, as well as the stars in the sky. Outside the courtyard, you can barbecue and fish. Downstairs, there's a mahjong room and a cozy reading nook. I stayed for two days and didn't encounter any mosquitoes. The room was clean, and the bathroom had a wet/dry separation. Looking out the window at the vibrant green trees instantly lifted my mood. You can even see the sky through the roof! There's a bar area where you can enjoy afternoon tea. The noodles made by the owner were delicious, and the afternoon tea was great too. The cleaning lady was very friendly; she even offered to take me on her e-bike to explore the nearby scenic spots if I visit again. When I checked in, it was raining, and the owner drove me to the station. My first impression of Chengde was fantastic, and I'm already looking forward to my next relaxing trip here.

Loved our stay at Jinshanling hanting B&B. Very convient to the ticket gate, about a 1minute walk so ideal for sunset and sunrise viewing. Staff are very helpful and friendly - communicating via translate app and providing detailed information to make the most of our visit. We enjoyed our dinner we had after the sunset, and breakfast which was included. We also used the transfer service back to the train station which was reasonable priced.

Facilities are sufficient for our type of travel; that are trekking and Great Wall viewing. Location is excellent with easy access to different parts of the of the Great Wall. Breakfast and dinner were at the stay and the simple local cuisine of good food suited our taste buds .. Topping all is the extra mile service by the owner 崔老版 and his family. We had a beautiful and memorable time here

First, the pros: The hotel's location is excellent, just a stone's throw from Jinshanling Great Wall, which is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The hotel's design is also visually appealing, with individual courtyards forming a small village. The standard rooms are designed in a traditional enclosed style with a courtyard, offering good natural light and ventilation. Now for the cons: Firstly, some of the staff lack professional ethics (let's not even get into service quality). When we were checking out, we couldn't find a taxi. The concierge told us there was nothing they could do and we'd have to take an unlicensed car. Then, a male staff member offered to drive us for an exorbitant 600 yuan! Keep in mind, ride-sharing apps estimated the fare at just over 300 yuan, and a carpool would have been around 180 yuan! We later found out that there's a convenient tourist bus service at the visitor center near the hotel, which runs daily to Beijing Dongzhimen for only 80 yuan, but the staff deliberately withheld this information! Many international guests stay at this hotel; such responses would be a disgrace to Chinese hospitality! I hope the hotel takes this seriously and rectifies the situation. Another issue is the hotel restaurant, which is quite a rip-off. The 78-yuan smoked chicken had a thick layer of coriander under it, with very little meat! In short, while the hotel itself is beautiful, the service ruins the experience. I've included photos, both good and bad, so everyone can be aware and avoid potential pitfalls.

The hotel boasts a beautiful environment and fresh air, and both the facilities and cleanliness are impeccable. The breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were delicious. Overall, the service was satisfactory. However, I have to complain about a front desk staff member who answered the phone between 7 and 10 PM on the 31st. The first time I reported the washing machine wasn't working, she actually told me it was leaking and advised me not to use it. I ended up fixing and using it myself. The second time I called about the shower water not getting hot, her response was even more ridiculous: she told me to just keep running the water until it got hot. I wasted nearly half an hour, and the water never got warm. In the end, a housekeeping staff member came and simply inserted the gas card, which solved the problem. What's worse is her terrible attitude; she was argumentative and refused to admit her incompetence in handling issues, acting as if she knew everything. She definitely deserves a bad review! On another note, the hotel is very close to Jinshanling Great Wall, which is absolutely worth a visit!
