--VickyChanThis guesthouse is located just outside Dali Old Town. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the old town. Getting a taxi was quite difficult; we waited for a long time with no luck, so we ended up walking back and forth. The guesthouse is up a small slope from the main road. On our way back from the old town, it started raining, and we had to run all the way back. I was so exhausted I ended up feeling dizzy and throwing up, just lay on the bed unable to move 😂.
The guesthouse itself is quite spacious, with a lovely courtyard where the owner keeps many well-behaved cats and dogs. The room was also huge! I honestly think this was the best value-for-money accommodation out of all the guesthouses I stayed in during my 7 days in Yunnan! I especially loved the large French window in the room; the view outside looked just like a painting!! My only minor suggestion would be to replace the bath towels – they're quite old and fraying. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

SsallyhxyI was really satisfied with my stay in Dali this time. I initially thought the location was a bit remote, but it's actually very close to S Bay and not noisy at all, offering a peaceful environment to relax. You can even see the sunrise from the room (though it was a bit disappointing because a mountain blocked the view, so I didn't see a red sunrise). The breakfast was different every day, and even when we had our makeup done in the lobby because of an appointment, the staff didn't mind and even offered us tea. Before we left, they gave us flower cakes and fruit. The service was absolutely amazing; every evening when we returned, they greeted us and offered sweet soup. I rarely write reviews, but I was truly happy with this experience!

XXingyundeO’DonnellWe stayed in the family room with our four-year-old and eleven-month-old babies. It was on the top floor with large windows offering mountain views from multiple angles, which was very pleasant. The guesthouse owner was incredibly welcoming; she met us at the intersection, helped with our luggage, cooked breakfast for us, and responded instantly on WeChat. I have to specifically mention that her fermented tofu was absolutely delicious! The guesthouse's location is also excellent – very close to Foreigner Street on foot, yet it's not noisy; you can't hear any music, and it's quiet every night. There's a convenience store nearby, and right across the street is a local Bai family restaurant. For tie-dye experiences, there are two shops right at the intersection. Overall, the location is super convenient. It was a very satisfying stay.

GGuest User1. The room decor and amenities (including hygiene and toiletries) are all up to 5-star hotel standards. The hotel's location is also excellent, making it convenient to get to the airport, high-speed rail, and major attractions. There are many restaurants downstairs.
2. The balcony offers stunning views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets. It even has a swing, ideal for enjoying tea and relaxing.
3. The hotel butler service is very attentive and responds quickly to any issues. They provide complimentary airport transfers and even free hotel shuttle services to attractions.
4. There's a complimentary late-night snack every day, and rice noodles are available all day. The fridge is stocked with various beverages, and the room comes with a tea set, tea table, and coffee machine. A basket of fresh fruit is provided daily – more than you can possibly eat!
5. Upon departure, we received complimentary local specialty flower cakes and tea, adding to the pleasant surprises.
6. This hotel is very suitable for family vacations. We hope to visit again in the future.

BBaliGingerLouWhen we first arrived we wondered if we had made a mistake and booked a hotel in the wrong location! But no, it turned out to be just wonderful! The huge window gave us a wonderful view and the old town was a short lively walk straight down the hill. The only problem we had was when we had to leave early on the morning. We were locked in and couldn't phone anyone to come and unlick the door. This is also a fire hazard. Anyhow if they could work out a better system it would be perfect.

Ssu_explorerI recently stayed here as a solo traveler, and this hotel was the highlight of my trip to Dali.
The hotel is located directly opposite the South Gate of Dali Old Town - truly steps away from the ancient city walls, only 3-4 mins walk yet it's quiet at night. There are also many delicious local eateries all within a 2-minute walk and also foot massage place. After you explore and have tired feet, I highly recommend that place - only 2 mins walk from the hotel. Calling a taxi (DiDi) to any attraction is also very convenient.
The hotel owner is an incredibly kind and genuine person. She made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Even though I speak very little mandarin, they made an effort to speak very slowly for me. The most memorable moment was when she invited me to join her and her friends for a home-cooked dinner at the hotel. As a solo traveler, that gesture of community was truly special and something I can't book on trip.com.
This hotel made my Dali trip unforgettable. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

GGuest UserMy stay at this sea-view hotel truly exceeded expectations! The room had an amazing view; opening the window revealed Erhai Lake, and the gentle sea breeze was incredibly refreshing. Watching the azure sky and sea during the day, and the sunset glow in the evening, absolutely elevated the ambiance. The room was clean and tidy, with complete amenities, and the soft bedding ensured a very comfortable sleep. The service was also very thoughtful and attentive; check-in was fast and efficient. The overall environment was quiet and pleasant. It's perfect whether you're looking to relax on vacation or simply gaze at the sea. Excellent value for money, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit. Highly recommended!

XXiaofanfanfanfanThis B&B is right across a walkway from Erhai Lake, and Nanzhao Style Island is directly opposite when you step out. It's perfect for photoshoots, and you can even feed the seagulls. Downstairs is the B&B's own coffee shop, which is very beautiful and Instagram-worthy. The complimentary travel photoshoot was taken right there in the cafe.
The afternoon tea was thoughtfully prepared; the waffles were freshly baked, and the yogurt was delicious and not too sweet. Breakfast was also good. The owners are very welcoming and provide excellent service. The young lady at the hotel even informed us in advance that she would meet us at the intersection to pick us up, and when we left, she accompanied us to the intersection to wait for our ride. She was very responsible and attentive!

I don't like the commercial area of Shuanglang very much. This one is just near the Sun Palace. I like the small streets there. There are all kinds of food just a few steps away. The brother of the inn will take the initiative to call to help pick up the luggage. It saves lives for those who can't pull the luggage.

GGuest UserWe rented the Garden Deluxe Room, with a mountain view. We find the description and pictures were accurately advertised, and the service was impeccable. We were very pleased with our rental, as it was private, clean and orderly. The hotel is conveniently located within the Dali Ancient Town, close to Biai Road and Renmin Road intersection (see picture of map). The morning and night views from the terrace were stunning. The Dali Ancient Town is as lively as you would imagine, with tons of food and shopping options. Our experience in Dali was awesome, with it's majestic mountains, beautiful lake, vibrant towns and peaceful villages.
However, the best part of this stay was our interactions with the hotel owners, who are a lovely couple. They are good people - very kind, helpful and approachable. Although we had to use an English to Mandarin translation app for most of our conversations, they were patient and made recommendations that we really enjoyed. They helped us book a tour of Erhai Lake and we had a wonderful time sightseeing with the bus tour company (highly recommended if you don't know where to start exploring). We also took their scooter bike to explore the Three Pagodas on our own and drove around the lake afterwards. Please consider renting their scooter bike, as it was super fun and the price is very affordable. As language is a barrier for us, they not only helped us book our ride to Lijiang, but they also gave us a hotel recommendation, which their son runs. To us, they are very trustworthy, so we're sure we will have another pleasant stay in Lijiang.
After all, it's not how clean the hotel is, or how beautiful the surroundings are, it's the people we meet along the way that makes it a wonderul trip experience. If there is another hotel rating for overall hotel experience, it would be a 10/5 for us. The owners definitely made our short stay very comfortable and our adventures amazing - thank you so much! We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are in this area again!
