JJovin_WongI had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dali Ancient Town Meishan Guesthouse, and it exceeded my expectations in every possible way. Location – unbeatable and worry-free The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of Dali Ancient Town. As soon as you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful ancient streets and alleys, full of local character. 2-3 mins walk away from the Bars. Attractions, cafes, shops, and amazing food are all within walking distance, which made exploring incredibly easy and stress-free. From check-in to check-out, the entire stay felt completely worry-free. Service – warm, genuine, and unforgettable The biggest highlight of this guesthouse is without a doubt the host. The lady boss is unbelievably friendly, considerate, and welcoming. She is super nice, enthusiastic, and very meticulous in everything she does. From contacting me in advance, patiently explaining routes, to sharing travel tips and local suggestions, she made me feel taken care of even before I arrived. Staying here truly felt like coming home rather than staying at a guesthouse. What made this stay truly special was the personal connection. She even invited me to join a barbecue with her and her friends. We had drinks, chatted late into the night, and shared stories about our cultures, life views, and experiences. Even though I only stayed for two nights, that evening made my time in Dali unforgettable. I felt incredibly lucky to have arrived back just in time for the barbecue. The Bai Jiu, the Yi Zu-style barbecue pork, and the homemade dumplings she made were all fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of laughter. Even small details were fun, like the pot cover shaped like the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy, which gave us a good laugh. It was one of those nights you don’t plan for, but it’s the highlight of the trip that you will remember for a long time. 😎 Room & Sleep Quality – quiet, comfortable, and well designed The room itself was quiet and very comfortable, with good sound insulation and a thoughtful renovation design that blends modern comfort with traditional charm. The bedding was clean and high quality, and the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. I slept extremely well every night. The entire guesthouse is beautifully designed, cozy, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. Value – exquisite and worth every penny This is a highly cost-effective and exquisite accommodation. You can see the attention to detail everywhere, from the design to the service. It perfectly balances the charm of the ancient town with modern convenience. It’s absolutely worth experiencing, and I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip. Final thoughts I returned home a few days ago, but when I think back on my trip to Yunnan, Dali still stands out as the most chill and relaxing place and Meishan Guesthouse is a big reason why. The friendly host, the warm atmosphere, and the meaningful conversations made this stay truly special. If I could give 11 stars, I would. Hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Highly, highly recommended. Will definitely be back!!!

The hotel's location is also excellent, making it convenient to get to the airport, high-speed rail, and major attractions. There are many restaurants downstairs. 2. The balcony offers stunning views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets. It even has a swing, ideal for enjoying tea and relaxing. 3. The hotel butler service is very attentive and responds quickly to any issues. They provide complimentary airport transfers and even free hotel shuttle services to attractions. 4. There's a complimentary late-night snack every day, and rice noodles are available all day. The fridge is stocked with various beverages, and the room comes with a tea set, tea table, and coffee machine. A basket of fresh fruit is provided daily – more than you can possibly eat! 5. Upon departure, we received complimentary local specialty flower cakes and tea, adding to the pleasant surprises. 6. This hotel is very suitable for family vacations. We hope to visit again in the future.

BBaliGingerLouWhen we first arrived we wondered if we had made a mistake and booked a hotel in the wrong location! But no, it turned out to be just wonderful! The huge window gave us a wonderful view and the old town was a short lively walk straight down the hill. The only problem we had was when we had to leave early on the morning. We were locked in and couldn't phone anyone to come and unlick the door. This is also a fire hazard. Anyhow if they could work out a better system it would be perfect.

Ssu_explorerI recently stayed here as a solo traveler, and this hotel was the highlight of my trip to Dali. The hotel is located directly opposite the South Gate of Dali Old Town - truly steps away from the ancient city walls, only 3-4 mins walk yet it's quiet at night. There are also many delicious local eateries all within a 2-minute walk and also foot massage place. After you explore and have tired feet, I highly recommend that place - only 2 mins walk from the hotel. Calling a taxi (DiDi) to any attraction is also very convenient. The hotel owner is an incredibly kind and genuine person. She made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Even though I speak very little mandarin, they made an effort to speak very slowly for me. The most memorable moment was when she invited me to join her and her friends for a home-cooked dinner at the hotel. As a solo traveler, that gesture of community was truly special and something I can't book on trip.com. This hotel made my Dali trip unforgettable. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Watching the azure sky and sea during the day, and the sunset glow in the evening, absolutely elevated the ambiance. The room was clean and tidy, with complete amenities, and the soft bedding ensured a very comfortable sleep. The service was also very thoughtful and attentive; check-in was fast and efficient. The overall environment was quiet and pleasant. It's perfect whether you're looking to relax on vacation or simply gaze at the sea. Excellent value for money, I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit. Highly recommended!

XXiaofanfanfanfanThis B&B is right across a walkway from Erhai Lake, and Nanzhao Style Island is directly opposite when you step out. It's perfect for photoshoots, and you can even feed the seagulls. Downstairs is the B&B's own coffee shop, which is very beautiful and Instagram-worthy. The complimentary travel photoshoot was taken right there in the cafe. The afternoon tea was thoughtfully prepared; the waffles were freshly baked, and the yogurt was delicious and not too sweet. Breakfast was also good. The owners are very welcoming and provide excellent service. The young lady at the hotel even informed us in advance that she would meet us at the intersection to pick us up, and when we left, she accompanied us to the intersection to wait for our ride. She was very responsible and attentive!

GGuest UserI rarely write reviews, but this hotel truly touched me. As an architect/interior designer, hotel design, aesthetics, and facilities have always been my top criteria when traveling. I've stayed in many hotels both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to book the newly built room type at Zuodu; the older section was just okay in terms of comfort. If you have the option, I definitely recommend choosing the new room types. The hotel is located right on the scenic coastal road. Its somewhat remote location makes it even quieter compared to S Bay, yet the surrounding scenery is still fantastic. What really made me want to check in here was their service. First, I chose two room types, and both included breakfast, plus daily afternoon tea options. The breakfast was quite rich, served buffet style, with Western, Cantonese, and rice noodle options. The restaurant environment is also excellent, with a great ambiance for photos both indoors and outdoors. Honestly, I've been to Dali many times, and hotels in this price range rarely offer breakfast, let alone afternoon tea. A cup of coffee costs 30-40 yuan, and you can order two per room, along with fruit and flower cakes. Besides the food, the hotel's other thoughtful services were also very impressive. This included shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and to and from the airport (we were a group of 5, 3 adults and 2 children, and the hotel provided a complimentary 7-seater shuttle from Longkan Pier, and the airport drop-off price was also upgraded from a 5-seater to a 7-seater for free). Bottled water in the hotel is unlimited and self-service. Instant coffee, tea bags, and steam eye masks are provided daily in the room, and none of them are off-brands. In the public restrooms, they thoughtfully provide sanitary pads and mouthwash, both of which are good brands. In short, whatever you requested, the front desk always responded and resolved it immediately. Upon checkout, they even gave us Pu'er tea cakes as a souvenir. I can truly say their service was exceptional. I will definitely choose Zuodu again next time I come to Dali.

GGuest UserWe rented the Garden Deluxe Room, with a mountain view. We find the description and pictures were accurately advertised, and the service was impeccable. We were very pleased with our rental, as it was private, clean and orderly. The hotel is conveniently located within the Dali Ancient Town, close to Biai Road and Renmin Road intersection (see picture of map). The morning and night views from the terrace were stunning. The Dali Ancient Town is as lively as you would imagine, with tons of food and shopping options. Our experience in Dali was awesome, with it's majestic mountains, beautiful lake, vibrant towns and peaceful villages. However, the best part of this stay was our interactions with the hotel owners, who are a lovely couple. They are good people - very kind, helpful and approachable. Although we had to use an English to Mandarin translation app for most of our conversations, they were patient and made recommendations that we really enjoyed. They helped us book a tour of Erhai Lake and we had a wonderful time sightseeing with the bus tour company (highly recommended if you don't know where to start exploring). We also took their scooter bike to explore the Three Pagodas on our own and drove around the lake afterwards. Please consider renting their scooter bike, as it was super fun and the price is very affordable. As language is a barrier for us, they not only helped us book our ride to Lijiang, but they also gave us a hotel recommendation, which their son runs. To us, they are very trustworthy, so we're sure we will have another pleasant stay in Lijiang. After all, it's not how clean the hotel is, or how beautiful the surroundings are, it's the people we meet along the way that makes it a wonderul trip experience. If there is another hotel rating for overall hotel experience, it would be a 10/5 for us. The owners definitely made our short stay very comfortable and our adventures amazing - thank you so much! We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are in this area again!
