"This is my second stay at Hachijo Hotel this year, and I've probably stayed here about five times in total. I love it as much as ever. Whenever I go to the Kansai region, Hachijo Miyako Hotel is my first choice; I don't even bother looking at other hotels anymore. The location is superb, and the room size is considered very spacious for Japan. I really like that the toiletries are POLA. The self-check-in process is very smooth. I also booked a day tour, and the meeting point was conveniently nearby."

"We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The rooms were larger than the usual mid range hotels in . They were clean and the usual amenities were provided. Another plus was the provision of complimentary beverages, biscuits and dashi in the afternoon until 1100pm. The hotel was rather far from Kyoto station - it was a 20 minute walk though there are a couple of smaller stations nearby. If you are up to walking a bit of a distance then this would be a good hotel choice Kyoto. We were very happy with this hotel and would consider coming back again."

"Extremely satisfied. I've stayed here multiple times, even making it a point to visit Kyoto just for this hotel. It's conveniently located, making it easy to get anywhere. It's clean and tidy, and the service is attentive and warm. Plus, I simply love hotels with hot springs. The late-night noodles are a fun touch too."

"After landing in Osaka, I took the Hello Kitty train directly to Kyoto Station. From there, I transferred to the Karasuma Line for two stops and exited from exit 4 (which has an elevator 🛗). Upon exiting, there's a 7-Eleven on the left, and the hotel is just a 2-minute walk further, up a long hallway to the second floor. The service in Kyoto is always excellent. I was able to find a good price before the May Day holiday. I've stayed at Mitsui before, but the location here is even better, with bus stops closer. Kiyomizu-dera, Arashiyama, and Kinkaku-ji are all just one stop away. The breakfast is traditional Kyoto style, light and delicious, and the elderly ladies serving were very polite. The front desk also provides a wide variety of toiletries."

"Clean, tidy, comfortable, and cozy, with professional and thoughtful staff. It's in a quiet residential area, and during the day, you can explore the community and experience the charming alleyways often seen in Japanese dramas, full of interesting little shops. I really enjoyed my stay every day. Plus, it's right by the Kamo River; you can walk along the stream to the popular, bustling section and easily walk back. The subway station is nearby, making transportation very convenient, and there's also FamilyMart, McDonald's, and some snack shops."

"Our stay at this hotel in Japan was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with incredible warmth and flawless hospitality, perfectly embodying the spirit of omotenashi (mindful hospitality). "This recently renovated onsen hotel is highly recommended! The rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, with a traditional Japanese style. The hotel features a public bathhouse and five private onsen, which is a great bonus. They also offer a complimentary drink bar in the afternoon, showing their dedication to excellent service. It's very close to both the subway and bus stations, making it an ideal choice for visiting Arashiyama, especially if you have a lot of luggage. I imagine it'll be quite difficult to book a room during autumn foliage season!"

"The hotel is quite old, and many facilities show clear signs of aging. One bedside lamp even had a loose connection at times. Thankfully, the cleanliness was fine. Initially, I was given a room facing a busy road, and it was incredibly noisy. After requesting a change, I got a room in the center of the hotel, which eliminated the road noise. However, there was still a loud, low-frequency hum, possibly from the air conditioning, and I could hear water gurgling through pipes, likely from neighbors showering. I ended up needing earplugs to sleep. Overall, the facilities are old, soundproofing is poor, and there's a lot of noise. On the positive side, the location is convenient, with a 7-Eleven and subway station right outside. The breakfast was plentiful, and the service was good; these aspects definitely live up to a four-star standard. However, I probably won't consider staying at this hotel again."

"One of my favorite hotels ever ♨️ This has to be one of the most comfortable hotels I've ever stayed in 🥹 During my stay, there were so many thoughtful complimentary services: popsicles, Yakult, coffee, matcha, and even free shoyu ramen for a late-night snack (though I found it a bit hard to appreciate – just salty, but you could take it back to your room 😂). The public bath is truly massive and incredibly clean. The room even thoughtfully provides a small basket 🧺 specifically for hot springs, perfect for holding towels and personal items. Downstairs, you can pick up beautiful bathrobes to wear for photos after your dip, and there are also hotel casual clothes in the room. There are 4 private baths in total, and you rarely have to wait in the morning or late at night. They offer great privacy and an excellent experience. The room has a wonderful classic Japanese feel, and for a hotel in Japan, it's remarkably spacious. It felt a bit luxurious for just one person 😂, the space is genuinely large. My favorite part is that the shower and toilet are separate, which is incredibly convenient for family trips. Breakfast was also a real surprise, with an incredibly rich selection: sashimi, roasted pork, salmon, wagyu curry, and a wide variety of other dishes. I was so full after eating that it lasted until evening 🤣. All the staff were also very polite and enthusiastic. This time, I'm especially grateful to the staff for helping me book the bus to Kansai Airport, which saved me a lot of hassle. The price is indeed a bit high 😂, but overall, the experience felt truly worth it. Some hotels you might stay at and just move on, but this is the kind of place where, once you've stayed, you'll want to come back again. I stayed alone this time, but next time I definitely want to bring my sister back to fully enjoy the hot springs, breakfast, and the leisurely pace here. ♨️🧺❤️ I will definitely be back."

"We are highly recommend to stay in this hotel, while the location, room size, cleanliness, design, and service are excellent. Moreover, the breakfast style is enough to choose, you can either enjoy in western or Japanese style breakfast per day. And we have encountered a traffic jam issue when we are coming back from Nara Station, something bad happened and the train was suddenly stopped. So we cannot be able to back to hotel on time for retrieving our packed luggages in room. We called to the hotel and explained this unexpected situation. The staffs show understand and offered free late check out one more hour for us, we know it is not easy to have free late check out at Japan but they did treat us so well. Thank you so much, we appreciated and we will stay in future as well. Thank you!"
