"Stayed for 4 nights in winter. Didn't try the onsen, but the hotel offers excellent value for money. Its location in Umekoji is just one stop from Kyoto Station and provides direct access to attractions like Arashiyama. The facilities and decor are very new and clean, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, and timely housekeeping. The 37 sq m triple room was surprisingly spacious. The breakfast was delicious, and my family especially loved the grilled saury. The service was friendly, and we even received dining vouchers. There are multiple restaurants downstairs to choose from. Highly recommended!"

"We had a great time at Hotel Amanek during our stay in Kyoto. The rooms are fresh, clean and modern. The room has a small space, but you are aware of that when you book, it works fine for a few days when you don't spend much time in the room and considering the good price value. We didn't try the breakfast at the hotel, but 7 Eleven is right next door. The staff at the reception are very helpful and nice. The location is very good, close to bus stops and walking distance to Gion. We rented bikes for a day and experienced a Kyoto beyond tourists, that was one of the highligts during our stay. I recommend staying at this hotel and would book it again."

"advantage: The location is good, the attached hand soap, body wash, and shampoo are very high-end, the room is nice and tidy, the lighting is good, and the breakfast is good (meal coupon for sandwich in the cafe next door) shortcoming: There is a kitchen in the room. Occasionally, there will be a little smell wafting out, maybe a few times (I thought it was us, but it wasn't), and it is a bit inconvenient to get in and out. The door can only be closed after one person takes off his shoes and goes to the entrance, and the room The key is physical, not a card, so you have to hand it to the counter when you want to go out (be careful if you don't dare to communicate with the counter)"

LLiujingyanWe chose a large corner room with windows on both sides. The hotel building has a history of more than 200 years. The location is great. It is right at the entrance of Kiyomizu Temple Commercial Street. It is quiet in the bustling city. The hotel is very quiet and elegant, with high-end decoration, complete facilities and excellent service! Breakfast is served in a library-style restaurant, which is very special. I highly recommend Japanese breakfast. Everyone thinks it is high-end Japanese cuisine when they post it on WeChat Moments. There are also vegetarian and children's meal options for breakfast. I also strongly recommend the window seat in the executive lounge. Drink Japanese tea or Japanese whiskey in the afternoon and look at the quaint buildings outside. It is worth the effort!

GGuest UserThis is the kind of traditional Japanese inn I love. The bathhouse is located outside the residence, keeping the room from getting damp and clogged. There's also a sense of ritual about going to and from the bathhouse. The bathhouses are separate for men and women, and shoes need to be removed at the entrance, so if you're shy, you can avoid them by seeing slippers by the entrance. Mornings and late evenings are the most pleasant, and rainy days are especially pleasurable. The breakfast and dinner meals are even better than those at Kyoto ryokan (Japanese inns). The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the utensils and presentation are beautiful. Sanzen-in Temple is just a short walk away, so you can go early, but I recommend Hosen-in Temple, less than 100 meters away. Refreshments are included with your admission ticket, and it's rightly called the ”Picture Frame Garden.” Sit quietly for a long day and relax.

HHuangqiyangThis morning, while stretching, I was reminded of my mornings doing yoga at the Gate Hotel, and some snippets of my stay there. Suddenly, I understood why I liked this hotel so much. It's because it reminded me of my time at drama school! This trip to Kyoto, we first stayed at Takasegawa for three days. I chose it because it's convenient for getting around and close to a shopping center, making it easy for Auntie Yang, who has mobility issues, to get around. The result? My mom was very happy, and I was even happier! The very next day, I WeChat-messaged my girlfriend, telling her I'd found the perfect hotel for her in Kyoto – you can do yoga, practice calligraphy, there's a co-working space, and you can stroll by the river anytime. It's practically a 1:1 replica of your downtime routine in Beijing! And why did I like it so much? Because it genuinely transported me back to the Nanluoguxiang area twenty years ago! The Takasegawa and Pontocho in the early morning, completely devoid of tourists, with only small vans parked on the side of the road delivering to restaurants, like an abrupt silence in the midst of boisterous laughter. It was the same scene and feeling on countless mornings when I walked through Luoguxiang and the hutongs towards Shichahai. The Kamo River in the morning is still quiet, just like Houhai in the morning; it still belongs only to those who live by it day in and day out. The hotel's lounge is on an upper floor, offering views of the entire Higashiyama area, with beautiful moments both morning and evening. In early summer, there's nothing more blissful than sitting outdoors, sipping coffee, and reading. When I was in school, I often did the same during this season: I'd take a book and a water bottle up to the top of my dorm building, looking out at the Drum and Bell Tower, which seemed to float above a sea of green waves in the distance. And those couples sunbathing on the sports field, the teenagers practicing kendama in the shade, the groups of friends chatting on the steps – that's the view I used to have from the third floor of my dorm: musical theater students doing acrobatic flips on the field, now-famous celebrities shooting hoops alone on a half-shaded court, classmates engrossed in conversation on benches with books. It even has a library and a 'study room'! The lounge on the third floor, in particular, brought back memories of the 'small garden' at my East Campus. It's that perfect spot where, when you return at night and don't want to go out again but still crave some outdoor time, you can sit there with a bonfire, drinking tea and listening to music. Now, I want to explore more hotels converted from old schools when I travel to other places!

GGuest UserWith our family of five down the mountain near the hotel price is too expensive, we accidentally found this room type, room is large, the price is close to the people, suitable for us. To reach the front desk and room, you need to climb the stairs (may be a remodeled old building, but very Japanese style). Since we drive by ourselves, we need to walk for3-5 minutes from the free parking space, but the luggage is large (next to Hankyu Busan Station), the handsome and beautiful staff are very dedicated to helping with the luggage to the room, and the Lobby puts a lot of Busan tourism information, (just happened to be summer festival, there are also Japanese nostalgic traditional gadgets for passengers. Overall, the hotel is close to the residential house but the room is very large and you can see the mountain. The environment is very comfortable and quiet. The handsome and beautiful staff wrote the thank you card before leaving the store, which made us feel sweet.

GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel for the entire three-day trip to Kyoto. The location of the hotel is not bad. It takes a few minutes to walk to the Kamogawa River, and about ten minutes to walk to Takashimaya? Just take a walk. The variety of breakfast is incomparable to that in China. The bread is quite good. I also saw his bakery in Osaka Takashimaya. The room area is considered large in Japan, and the hygiene is also OK. Dyson hair dryer, free mask, whitening sensitive skin should be used with caution. The minibar gave a lot of small biscuits and fruits, and the taste is OK. There is no bottled water. It is said that the tap is direct drinking water and can only be boiled for drinking. The water flow of the tap is small, but the shower water pressure is enough.

GGuest UserThe walk to the hotel is inconvenient if we have big luggages. The hotel room is old but we love the room space. With 3 beds, we have plenty of walking space. We enjoyed the spacious bathroom. The hotel staffs should proactively ask if we are member of its hotel group. We bought souvenirs and forgot to show our member to get a discount.

NNaxieniandeshiguangThe location is just opposite Nijo Castle, within walking distance, very convenient. Kyoto is not big, very leisurely, and the hotel is generally good to the attractions. The front desk and lobby manager are good, their English is online, very international, especially the European and American guys hired, the communication is very smooth. The facilities in the room are also good, the breakfast is also great, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice machine is quite interesting.
