Our night in Benzilan was made absolutely perfect thanks to the Xilin Yuan Nada Mountain Inn. We arrived in the evening, driving up the mountain road, and the further we went, the more tranquil it became. The inn's courtyard is beautifully maintained, and the room windows offer stunning views of the continuous mountain range, making you feel as though the entire world has quieted down. The owner is incredibly kind. Not only did he recommend some local delicacies, but he also offered to wash our clothes for us. This kind of thoughtful service truly makes you feel so welcome and warm. This is an inn that makes you want to return. Next time I'm in Benzilan, I'll definitely stay here again!

I booked the Yunshu, room F02, and I highly recommend this room type. The location is absolutely perfect, right above the Meili road sign. Personally, I think the view of the snow-capped mountains from the room is even better than from the Feilai Temple viewing platform downstairs. The floor-to-ceiling window next to the sofa in the room directly faces the Shennü Peak, and you can also see Kawagebo, though unfortunately, the weather wasn't good on the day I was there, so I missed out on that. The room also provides a tripod, which you can set up on the balcony for photos. The afternoon tea was also great; I absolutely loved the sour tamarind iced Americano. We also had dinner on the first floor (basement), and the food was delicious with generous portions. The staff were all very friendly and even gave us a special souvenir, a cute little cup, when we left. It's a shame we didn't get to see the 'golden mountains in the sun' due to the weather. What made Meili unforgettable for me wasn't just the blessing of the sacred mountains and the stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' spectacle. A significant part of it was also the warmth and service from every staff member at Ji Xia Shan. No matter when or where, everyone I encountered greeted me not with a standardized, robotic smile, but with a genuinely bright and warm one. There was the unlimited supply of butter tea, the enthusiastic yet shy breakfast guy, the thoughtful and respectful housekeeper sister, the handsome young man on the fourth-floor viewing deck who taught us time-lapse photography, and the auntie who kept asking if we had enough food even after loading our breakfast plates... This wasn't just a place to stay; it felt more like a warm home. When we left in the car, everyone stood at the door waving goodbye, and for the first time, I felt an immense reluctance to leave a hotel, tears flowing uncontrollably. This trip not only received the blessing of the sacred mountains but also embraced the warmth of Ji Xia Shan. I believe these memories will support me through countless moments, inspiring me to strive for even better things. Tashi Delek!

This is a typical Tibetan-style guesthouse, built by the river. The hygiene and facilities are quite good. The owner warmly invited us to have dinner with them; the owner's wife's homemade chili sauce was delicious. However, to be fair, the small road leading from the main road to the guesthouse passes through a sand quarry and has a significant elevation difference, which is inconvenient. It's recommended that you contact the owner before you arrive to see if you can park on the main road and then take the small road down.

Haze Peak Lodge: A 'Highland Pearl' in Design, an 'Unfinished Product' in Service My recent stay at Haze Peak Lodge left me with mixed feelings. Li Zhong's design remains exceptional, but the service and execution tarnished this 'highland pearl.' 【Design & Creation】 Li Zhong's touch makes this hotel's architectural language incredibly impactful. The facade's material application is textbook-perfect – the ruggedness of Luofeiyan stone, the warmth of wood, skillfully integrated with modern construction techniques, creating a powerful resonance with the vast landscape of Haze Peak. This deep interpretation and modern re-imagining of local culture are unique among boutique hotels in the ******* region. 【Construction & Maintenance】 However, the high standard of design didn't extend to the construction execution. Numerous details couldn't withstand close scrutiny: rough wall finishes, noticeable gaps in wood joints, loose hardware… many construction flaws marred the overall aesthetic. More regrettably, maintenance clearly hasn't kept up, with significant wear and tear already apparent in several areas. For a high-end boutique design hotel, this 'delivery quality' doesn't match its design ambition. 【Service Experience – The Biggest Pain Point】 This was the most disappointing aspect of my stay. The overall service level was very poor: from check-in to entering the room, there was no introduction whatsoever about hotel facilities or the surrounding environment, and staff showed a basic lack of attention to guests. Even more uncomfortable was seeing staff members gathered together, laughing and joking without any consideration for the guests, indicating an urgent need for improvement in their professionalism and service attitude. At this price point, the level of service received was perfunctory, making the value for money severely imbalanced. 【Ranking of Three Top-Tier Hotels】 If I had to rank these three representative hotels in the Shangri-La area, my personal experience would be: Jixia Shan (First) – Far superior in the completeness of its service system and attention to detail, truly achieving a 'design + service' dual-driven approach. Haze Peak Lodge (Second) – The design strength is undeniable, but the shortcomings in service dragged down the overall experience, with a clear gap compared to Jixia Shan. Pudu (Third) – Design that is merely superficial 'showing off,' with prominent issues in service attitude, and the lowest overall completion. 【Overall Review】 The dedication of bosses Zhang Hong and Zhang Jian to the project is evident in the design. However, the hotel industry is ultimately about 'people'; no matter how stunning the design, if the service doesn't keep up and construction maintenance is inadequate, it will remain an 'unfinished work.' I hope that upon my next return to Haze Peak, the Lodge can address these shortcomings and truly live up to its architectural beauty. Currently, I would recommend Jixia Shan first to guests who prioritize a comprehensive experience.

I stayed in a basic room, and the package was a great value. The public areas offer even better spots for taking photos with the snowy mountains in the background! The sixth floor has the best views, while the third floor is perfect for reflection shots. The ground floor is also nice, but it would be even better if the hotel could manage the large glass windows on the first floor during sunrise – otherwise, you'll get a lot of cars in your photos. In the evening, the fifth floor is a great spot, and the bartender there is super friendly! The food was filling, and breakfast was decent with some local specialty side dishes. Most importantly, I got to see the 'golden mountain under the morning sun,' so overall I'm very satisfied. The Puerh tea at the front desk was also delicious. They have sachet-making activities at 9 AM and 9 PM daily! A sachet costs 58 RMB in Dukezong Ancient City. The travel photography service is also pretty good, as the hotel has many photogenic spots. I did my own makeup, then changed into the hotel's clothes. The lighting is excellent around 9 AM and 6 PM. I ended up choosing a dozen photos for 1088 RMB, which was a bit pricey. One minor drawback: oxygen supply isn't available during the day, and even when it is, the intensity feels a bit weak. I had some trouble sleeping the first night. It only got better after I propped up my upper body and opened the window a bit. Also, without the underfloor heating on, it was still a bit warm.

Cleanliness: Still very neat and clean. Environment: The guesthouse is located at the very top of the eastern side of Upper Yubeng. If you don't want to commute by pickup truck or climb the 'Despair Slope', I recommend taking the shortcut directly to Upper Yubeng after the second supply point. The scenery is excellent. The guesthouse has a fantastic view, offering panoramic vistas of three snow-capped mountains. The decor is ******* style, leaning towards minimalist. Service: The ladies working here were incredibly responsive to all our requests. Upon check-in, we received custom medals and a supply kit. In the evenings, there was ginger tea, fruit, and late-night snacks. After three days of exhausting hikes, returning to the guesthouse, sitting by the fire, drinking ginger tea, and petting the cats brought immense happiness. I highly recommend their milk tea and coffee; their beauty is the least impressive thing about them – they're just that delicious. Facilities: The hot water temperature was a bit tricky to adjust. As someone sensitive to heat, the water felt too hot after a while. Lastly, the guesthouse also provides disposable towels and bath towels, so my quick-dry towel went completely unused. Guests might consider this to lighten their backpacks.

Getting to the hotel requires turning off National Highway 214 onto a village road, which was completely dark at night. At that moment, I regretted booking this place. However, after driving down that small road for about 5 minutes, we finally arrived, and I immediately felt that my choice was actually a good one. Once we entered the room, my worries completely disappeared! The room felt like a 4-star standard and, thankfully, was smoke-free. Even better, each room had a copy of the 'Brief Introduction to Diqing Prefecture,' a very professional, detailed, and comprehensive book that helps you quickly and systematically understand the area. The hotel restaurant's food was good (though a bit salty for us southerners). The prices weren't cheap, around 50 RMB per person, but given the generous portions, I wouldn't say it was expensive. The main benefit was not having to go out to eat, which saved time and effort. The hotel's environment and ambiance were perfect; it truly felt like a manor. I heard it used to be a vineyard that later upgraded to tourism services. Because it's far from the town and main road, it's incredibly quiet, and you can even see the peak of Meili Snow Mountain directly from here.

I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!

The location is fantastic, super easy to get around, and there are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. The place itself is spotless, and the common areas have a relaxed and comfortable vibe. The beds are clean and odor-free, and the washing facilities are comprehensive. The owner is incredibly warm and friendly, and the service is excellent. This place offers amazing value for money. It's my top choice for accommodation when traveling, and I'll definitely be back!
