"First off, the hotel owner was incredibly kind and understanding. We had originally booked two twin rooms for four people, but two of our group fell ill with altitude sickness and couldn't make it. According to policy, canceling one room would have incurred a 30% charge. However, after hearing our situation, the owner proactively offered a free cancellation, which I truly appreciate. Secondly, the hotel really pays attention to the details. For example, the rooms come equipped with electric blankets, binoculars, oxygen concentrators, and even high-quality tissues. The bathroom has a heater/ventilator, and the Western breakfast is both generous and delicious. Lastly, the hotel is located in the first row, offering unobstructed views of the Meili Snow Mountain directly from the rooms and the rooftop. The rooftop even has tripods available for guests. We were very lucky to witness the stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun' phenomenon on Meili Snow Mountain. Tashi Delek! 🙏"

"We were incredibly lucky to witness the 'Rizhao Jinshan' phenomenon (golden mountain bathed in sunlight)! The hotel's views are absolutely stunning (just ignore that big crane, haha). You get an unobstructed panorama of all thirteen Meili Snow Mountains. The owner was super enthusiastic; as soon as we arrived, he warmly explained the best ways to view the mountains. After showing us to our room, he even turned on the humidifier, oxygen machine, and floor heating for us. The hotel is very clean, and in the morning, you don't even need to go down to the observation deck; you can simply watch the snow-capped peaks from your balcony. The hotel thoughtfully provided large, thick blankets, which was a very nice touch."

The room was brand new and well-equipped with all sorts of amenities. The dispersed oxygen supply, in particular, was a lifesaver for those of us with altitude sickness. The location is excellent; the hotel has a rooftop viewing platform, and it's also very close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform, just about a 5-minute walk. Overall, it offers fantastic value for money in Feilai Temple."

"Five stars all around! Let me tell you why I highly recommend this hotel.
We were incredibly lucky to see the 'Golden Mountain bathed in sunlight' (Rizhao Jinshan) on our very first day. Before arriving, we had access to a dedicated concierge group chat, which was super helpful. As we were driving, having a parking lot with charging facilities was a huge plus.
The guesthouse's location is perfect; you can see the Rizhao Jinshan directly from there. Plus, there's a viewing platform and a small bar on the fifth floor, which is great for photos. You honestly get amazing views right from the hotel, so there's no need to go to the viewing platforms within the scenic area.
The staff were wonderful – very patient and attentive. The hotel also offers a paid photography service, but there's no pressure to use it.
They also provide a complimentary turndown dessert, and the breakfast is a convenient set meal plus buffet style. To top it all off, they even upgraded our room, which we loved! Definitely book this place without hesitation!"

"After looking at many options online, we finally chose to stay here. The owner came out to greet us as soon as we arrived and helped guide us to a parking spot. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a family room, which was very spacious and spotlessly clean 👍. The amenities were excellent; the oxygen machine and humidifier were incredibly helpful for those experiencing altitude sickness. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the shower water temperature and pressure were perfect. The indoor temperature was very warm and comfortable 👍, and we could see the Meili Snow Mountain right from our room. There's also an elevator. It's only a 5-minute walk to the Feilai Temple observation deck, and there's a snack street right downstairs. We didn't see the 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' on our first day, so we extended our stay for another night, and we were lucky enough to witness the complete 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight,' which was absolutely worth it. There's a viewing balcony, but you can't see the 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' from there; you have to go to the viewpoint for that. Be sure to try the roasted yak skewers by the road near the snow mountain, they're really good!"

"Firstly, this has to be one of the nicest places which I stayed at in Yunnan, or in China for that matter. You may be thinking that is price is good to be true, but this place performs well above what is to be expected of that price range. I was originally planning to stay elsewhere in Benzilan, but am very glad that I stayed here.
The rooms are super spacious with high ceilings and wooden furniture. The view out of my window was very green and calming. The amenities were all well-maintained and very clean. The pictures really don't do the rooms the justice that they deserve.
Secondly, and very importantly, the owner - a young Benzilan local who operates the hotel with his mother - is exceptionally kind, genuine and friendly. As a solo traveller, he helped organise transport, offered lunch, and even some of the local liquor. As far as service goes, this place remains unbeaten amongst all the places I've travelled in China.
The hotel overlooks the mountains surrounding Benzilan. In the evening, you can peacefully sit outside the hotel on its elevated terrace and quietly watch the mountains as the sun goes down.
I would not hesitate to stay again."

"The room was spotless, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were absolutely stunning. Every time I dragged my tired body back to the clean, tidy, and warm room and saw the beautiful scenery outside, I'd think, 'Forget hiking tomorrow, just staying in the room all day would be great too!' 😂😂😂
The owner is incredibly thoughtful and considers every detail. They provide free snow gaiters and crampons, and even oranges grown by the auntie herself.
It's just a short walk from where you get off the car, so it's not too tiring, but it also saves you a climb when heading to Ice Lake. It's truly the best of both worlds.
Even more surprising was the food! After a long day, I didn't want to go out to eat, so I went to the hotel restaurant just to grab a bite, but it completely exceeded my expectations! Check out my Dianping screenshots!
The only regret is that the room was originally supposed to have a direct view of the 'Golden Mountain Bathed in Sunlight' in the morning, but it rained for three days straight in Yubeng, so I didn't get to see it. I'll definitely come back to Yujian Mountain next time to make up for it."

Pricey but everything is high quality down to the free mini bar drinks. The design is highly beautiful and thoughtful. Its restaurant was one of the best meals I had in Yunnan, snd breakfast was good as well. It is only 18 rooms giving the hotel a very relaxed atmosphere. Location is quite remote, which is great in that case. I have seen others in the area and was more than happy with this part to look at the mountains. All is founded in very helpful staff that went the extra mile. The windows could be cleaned better to give one room for improvement 😉

Since we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences. The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it. The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying. The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills. Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

The service is super nice, they have pick up service from Deqin tunnel to the hotel. Hosts are friendly who ask whether you need help often. The location is sick, you can directly see the snow mountain from the balcony. That would save loads of energy going out and back. Amenities are clean, making us feel comfortable staying. One point to note, their food is so nice, not expecting to have these qualitied meals up the hill.

LLinda PuiJust to make it clear that the location of this hotel is not at the Meili Viewing Platform. You need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the platform to watch Meili at sunrise. The mountain that is in the background of the hotel is Baima mountain. Having said that, we loved our stay at this hotel. The cabin was nicely decorated and equipped with all amenities. We loved the bathroom! The heater was working well in the cold weather. The uncle was lovely. It was a bit hard for us to conmunicate what we wanted as we don't speak Chinese but through Wechat translation he was able to arrange a car (shared trip) to Mingyong Glacier and a private transfer back to Shangri La for us. The auntie at the breakfast was also lovely and welcoming, trying to chat with us all the time. One thing to note is that aroud the area there are a lot of construction sites (there is one opposite the hotel), so it can be dusty and noisy at times. Please check with the hotel about the construction if it is still ongoing during the time you want to visit. All in all, I highly recommend this place if you want a lovely cabin experience (with sky window!) away from the busy area. However, you won't see Meili from the hotel's windows.

Every morning, I woke up to an amazing mountain view that instantly set the tone for a relaxing day. The property itself is stunning, especially the vineyard, which adds so much charm. I loved the free wine tasting sessions, and the hosts were incredibly kind, caring, and always eager to make sure we had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality truly made the experience feel personal. The food was excellent, with every meal prepared thoughtfully and bursting with flavor. For those who love a bit of adventure, the ATV facilities are a fantastic addition. We also enjoyed grape plucking right in the vineyard—such a unique and fun activity! Overall, this place is a perfect blend of tranquility, great service, and memorable experiences. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy nature with a touch of adventure. One small issue I had was that the air-conditioner was blowing warm air, but after I informed the team, they fixed it within a short time. Great service and quick response — really appreciated it!

I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family.
