"First off, the hotel owner was incredibly kind and understanding. We had originally booked two twin rooms for four people, but two of our group fell ill with altitude sickness and couldn't make it. According to policy, canceling one room would have incurred a 30% charge. However, after hearing our situation, the owner proactively offered a free cancellation, which I truly appreciate. Secondly, the hotel really pays attention to the details. For example, the rooms come equipped with electric blankets, binoculars, oxygen concentrators, and even high-quality tissues. The bathroom has a heater/ventilator, and the Western breakfast is both generous and delicious. Lastly, the hotel is located in the first row, offering unobstructed views of the Meili Snow Mountain directly from the rooms and the rooftop. The rooftop even has tripods available for guests. We were very lucky to witness the stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun' phenomenon on Meili Snow Mountain. Tashi Delek! 🙏"

"We were incredibly lucky to witness the 'Rizhao Jinshan' phenomenon (golden mountain bathed in sunlight)! The hotel's views are absolutely stunning (just ignore that big crane, haha). You get an unobstructed panorama of all thirteen Meili Snow Mountains. The owner was super enthusiastic; as soon as we arrived, he warmly explained the best ways to view the mountains. After showing us to our room, he even turned on the humidifier, oxygen machine, and floor heating for us. The hotel is very clean, and in the morning, you don't even need to go down to the observation deck; you can simply watch the snow-capped peaks from your balcony. The hotel thoughtfully provided large, thick blankets, which was a very nice touch."

"The hotel owner was very warm and enthusiastic, proactively helping with our luggage and even providing pick-up and drop-off service to and from the Feilai Temple bus station. The room was brand new and well-equipped with all sorts of amenities. The dispersed oxygen supply, in particular, was a lifesaver for those of us with altitude sickness. The location is excellent; the hotel has a rooftop viewing platform, and it's also very close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform, just about a 5-minute walk. Overall, it offers fantastic value for money in Feilai Temple."

"Five stars all around! Let me tell you why I highly recommend this hotel.
We were incredibly lucky to see the 'Golden Mountain bathed in sunlight' (Rizhao Jinshan) on our very first day. Before arriving, we had access to a dedicated concierge group chat, which was super helpful. As we were driving, having a parking lot with charging facilities was a huge plus.
The guesthouse's location is perfect; you can see the Rizhao Jinshan directly from there. Plus, there's a viewing platform and a small bar on the fifth floor, which is great for photos. You honestly get amazing views right from the hotel, so there's no need to go to the viewing platforms within the scenic area.
The staff were wonderful – very patient and attentive. The hotel also offers a paid photography service, but there's no pressure to use it.
They also provide a complimentary turndown dessert, and the breakfast is a convenient set meal plus buffet style. To top it all off, they even upgraded our room, which we loved! Definitely book this place without hesitation!"

"After looking at many options online, we finally chose to stay here. The owner came out to greet us as soon as we arrived and helped guide us to a parking spot. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a family room, which was very spacious and spotlessly clean 👍. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the shower water temperature and pressure were perfect. The indoor temperature was very warm and comfortable 👍, and we could see the Meili Snow Mountain right from our room. There's also an elevator. It's only a 5-minute walk to the Feilai Temple observation deck, and there's a snack street right downstairs. We didn't see the 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' on our first day, so we extended our stay for another night, and we were lucky enough to witness the complete 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight,' which was absolutely worth it. "Firstly, this has to be one of the nicest places which I stayed at in Yunnan, or in China for that matter. You may be thinking that is price is good to be true, but this place performs well above what is to be expected of that price range. I was originally planning to stay elsewhere in Benzilan, but am very glad that I stayed here.
The rooms are super spacious with high ceilings and wooden furniture. The view out of my window was very green and calming. The amenities were all well-maintained and very clean. The pictures really don't do the rooms the justice that they deserve.
Secondly, and very importantly, the owner - a young Benzilan local who operates the hotel with his mother - is exceptionally kind, genuine and friendly. As a solo traveller, he helped organise transport, offered lunch, and even some of the local liquor. As far as service goes, this place remains unbeaten amongst all the places I've travelled in China.
The hotel overlooks the mountains surrounding Benzilan. In the evening, you can peacefully sit outside the hotel on its elevated terrace and quietly watch the mountains as the sun goes down.
I would not hesitate to stay again."

"The room was spotless, and the floor-to-ceiling windows were absolutely stunning. Every time I dragged my tired body back to the clean, tidy, and warm room and saw the beautiful scenery outside, I'd think, 'Forget hiking tomorrow, just staying in the room all day would be great too!' 😂😂😂
The owner is incredibly thoughtful and considers every detail. They provide free snow gaiters and crampons, and even oranges grown by the auntie herself.
It's just a short walk from where you get off the car, so it's not too tiring, but it also saves you a climb when heading to Ice Lake. It's truly the best of both worlds.
Even more surprising was the food! After a long day, I didn't want to go out to eat, so I went to the hotel restaurant just to grab a bite, but it completely exceeded my expectations! Check out my Dianping screenshots!
The only regret is that the room was originally supposed to have a direct view of the 'Golden Mountain Bathed in Sunlight' in the morning, but it rained for three days straight in Yubeng, so I didn't get to see it. I'll definitely come back to Yujian Mountain next time to make up for it."

PparaworldThe room was spotless, and the 1.2-meter single bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of options. The hotel staff were all warm and professional. The staff on the 4th-floor viewing platform, in particular, were outstanding; they taught us how to capture beautiful photos of the scenery. The butler service group was incredibly responsive. The hotel is located near the Wunongding viewing platform, so you don't have to brave the early morning cold to see Meili Snow Mountain; you can see it directly from the 4th floor. We were so lucky this time, from January 25th to 27th, we saw the breathtaking 'Sunrise over Golden Mountain' (Rizhao Jinshan) of Meili Snow Mountain for two days, as well as the 'Sunset over Silver Mountain' on the first day. The two documentaries shown at night, ”Kawa Karpo” and ”The Salt Road,” were fascinating. The small gift we received upon check-out was lovely.
However, the dinner selection was uninspiring, and the portions were small. For instance, the stir-fried Pipa pork with matsutake had very little meat and mushrooms, but a lot of green onions. I hope they can improve this aspect!

GGuest UserSince we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences.
The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it.
The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying.
The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills.
Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

HHuoxiniI planned a trip specifically because I had this hotel, designed by Wu Bin, saved in my favorites. The moment I saw the snow-capped mountains, it was all worth it – the combination of Meili Bo Duo and the 'golden mountain bathed in sunlight' is just perfect!
Even the most basic courtyard rooms offer a glimpse of the snowy peaks, and there are plenty of spots in the public areas with even more breathtaking views and fewer crowds.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the thoughtful evening dessert was a lovely surprise – the butler quietly brought it to my room when I was out, which was both unexpected and heartwarming.
Moreover, the hotel offers many activities. I participated in Thangka painting and making ******* incense bags, which were excellent. Upon check-out, the butler even gave me a gift of soap and a prayer wheel.
All in all, to find a hotel like this at an altitude of 3500 meters where you can simply relax and gaze at the snow-capped mountains, I personally feel it was well worth the price.

I was only planning to stay one night and make do, but as soon as I walked in, it felt so clean and comfortable that I immediately extended my stay for another day; I really didn't want to switch places. The owner is incredibly warm and friendly, and the service is super thoughtful—they anticipate everything you could possibly need. Not only did they remind us about breakfast and things to be aware of when going out, but they even drove us to see the 'golden mountain bathed in sunlight,' which was incredibly considerate. What's even more amazing is that I left my charger in the room when I checked out and didn't even realize it myself. The owner saw it, contacted me right away, packed it up, and sent it back to me. So reliable and heartwarming! My entire stay felt incredibly relaxing, just like being at home. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit. Highly recommended!

ZZhixiao-The room was fantastic, with a balcony directly overlooking the snow-capped mountains. They thoughtfully provided two foot bath tubs. We were quite tired upon arrival at the village, and soaking our feet completely refreshed us, making us ready to head straight to the glacial lake the very next day – what a thoughtful touch! The chicken soup noodles were delicious, and the packed lunch they provided for our journey was great too. The resident cat was adorable!

Opening the window revealed a stunning view of snow-capped mountains and a sea of clouds – the romantic snowy scenery was just breathtaking. The room was cozy and clean, with plenty of oxygen, so I didn't have to worry about altitude sickness at all. Just sitting on the balcony quietly watching the snow was so therapeutic and lovely. The service was incredibly attentive, and even though it's located at high altitude, the stay was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it!

AAnonymous UserThey say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise.
Let's talk about the downsides:
1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road.

The terrace offers a direct view of Meili Snow Mountain, so you can witness the stunning 'Golden Mountain in the Morning Sun' phenomenon. The room was warm and the hot water plentiful, which was incredibly refreshing after a long hike.

GGuest UserShangyubeng is a beautiful B&B. Enjoy breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and meadows from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The service was exceptionally warm and attentive. Because the village was undergoing road construction, we had to hike in. Mr. Hua called ahead to let us know, which prepared us well and saved us a lot of trouble.
The owner's cooking is impeccable. After a week of Yunnan cuisine, we were treated to authentic Cantonese barbecued pork and scallion chicken, which my two children raved about. He even thoughtfully prepared sandwiches for us to snack on on the hike back. May Mr. Hua's business flourish and may his fortunes flow.
