"Great for admiring the snow-capped mountains, and the location is very quiet. The second-floor balcony is spacious, and the room is well-equipped. The only minor drawback is that the bathroom is a bit dated. However, the service is excellent with everything you could need. They offer many activities like fireworks displays and 'Wei Sang' prayers for blessings. Before bed, they even deliver complimentary tremella soup and red bean soup. When going out at night, a guard dog accompanies you, which makes you feel very safe!"

"The owner was incredibly kind. The room we originally booked didn't have a view of the snowy mountains, so she proactively upgraded us to a room that did. She helped us with our luggage, brought it to our room, and even turned on the heating for us, showing us how to use it. We were so lucky to be able to see the 'golden mountains under the sunrise' (sunlight on snow-capped peaks) right from our room. When checking out, she even offered a ride, even though the distance was very short.
The hotel's location is also convenient. It's just a few minutes' walk to the snow mountain observation deck, and there are plenty of restaurants outside, so you won't have to worry about finding food."

"The hotel is a bit of a drive from Feilai Temple and the food street, but the owner is basically on call – just give them a ring and they'll come pick you up. Great service! In winter, shuttle buses start taking guests to the observation deck around 7:20 AM to watch the sunrise, then bring them back for breakfast, which is really convenient. The rooms have underfloor heating and electric blankets, but I'd advise guests to keep some damp towels nearby, otherwise, it can get very dry overnight. There's plenty of hot water, and for the price, both the room and breakfast are quite decent."

"The location is superb, directly facing Meili Snow Mountain, with scenic views right from the balcony. Service is mediocre, practically nonexistent. Afternoon tea needs to be ordered upstairs, and luggage is only handled at the front desk upon arrival. Aside from that, there's no other service, which is really disappointing for a guesthouse costing four figures. The room facilities are new and well-equipped, with earplugs, eye masks, and various drinks and bottled water, but the soundproofing is poor; footsteps and running water from upstairs are clearly audible. Breakfast selection is limited; when we went at 9:30 am, some items were already sold out and not replenished. At this price, you can only buy the view."

"We arrived at the hotel very late at night, and I was worried about parking. To my surprise, the owner was incredibly helpful and personally drove us to the parking spot. All the surrounding supermarkets were closed, so we couldn't buy any food, but the owner thoughtfully brought us two cups of instant noodles, which was incredibly heartwarming.
I was experiencing some altitude sickness, but this hotel is equipped with diffused oxygen, and the oxygen supply was very stable throughout the night. I slept incredibly soundly and comfortably, which greatly alleviated my altitude sickness discomfort. The room's amenities are excellent, with a humidifier and hairdryer readily available. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and it's clean and tidy, making for a truly fantastic stay.
The owner is genuinely warm and welcoming, and the accommodation is comfortable and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Feilai Temple. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!"

"It's about an hour and a half drive from Deqin County and about an hour's drive from Napa Lake. We chose this rest stop because we didn't want to rush. We were very satisfied with our stay. The room was spacious, and its riverside location made it warm enough with the air conditioning on. The owner was incredibly kind and invited us to eat together. We happened to be there during a local blessing ceremony, and the owner kept apologizing for disturbing us in the morning, even though we were a little shy. But it looked so delicious! The owner could open a restaurant! We'd definitely choose this place again next time we're in Shangri-La. I forgot to take pictures of the room, but it was really clean and comfortable. I've also attached a couple of photos from the journey."

PparaworldThe room was spotless, and the 1.2-meter single bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of options. The hotel staff were all warm and professional. The staff on the 4th-floor viewing platform, in particular, were outstanding; they taught us how to capture beautiful photos of the scenery. The butler service group was incredibly responsive. The hotel is located near the Wunongding viewing platform, so you don't have to brave the early morning cold to see Meili Snow Mountain; you can see it directly from the 4th floor. We were so lucky this time, from January 25th to 27th, we saw the breathtaking 'Sunrise over Golden Mountain' (Rizhao Jinshan) of Meili Snow Mountain for two days, as well as the 'Sunset over Silver Mountain' on the first day. The two documentaries shown at night, ”Kawa Karpo” and ”The Salt Road,” were fascinating. The small gift we received upon check-out was lovely.
However, the dinner selection was uninspiring, and the portions were small. For instance, the stir-fried Pipa pork with matsutake had very little meat and mushrooms, but a lot of green onions. I hope they can improve this aspect!

The guesthouse is a reconstruction of the owner's original home, and I was immediately struck by its beauty upon entering: the Western-style staircase paired with ******* paintings was exquisite and beautiful! The rooms were even more beautiful and comfortable than the pictures showed, mainly due to the attention to detail, including the tea corner, the automatic sensor lights in the bathroom, and the copper sink. This guesthouse offers excellent value for money, comparable to well-known hotels costing nearly a thousand yuan. It's truly a hidden gem.
The guesthouse's large terrace is just a short distance above a bend in the Jinsha River, offering stunning views! I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Yunnan and Tibet!

GGuest UserSince we came from Yubeng Village and didn't rent a car, the hotel's location was indeed much more suitable for self-driving. Fortunately, the hotel accommodated these inconveniences.
The hotel was renovated from an abandoned elementary school, but the overall feel is like a designer's new creation. The amenities were excellent. In addition to the essentials, there was a tea table by the large window facing the mountains. The bed was large, and our room wasn't arranged side by side, but rather one side by one, which was quite unique and even involved a fight over it.
The laundry service was thoughtful, and they even delivered goodnight milk in the evening. I also commend the breakfast, which offered both Chinese and Western options. It was one of the most comfortable and freshest breakfasts I've had in Yunnan these past few days, and the Western dishes were very satisfying.
The hotel is located in a village group of only eight households, a quiet place with both activity and tranquility. The villagers are simple and shy, and after a walk, I joined them in circumambulating the Buddhist scriptures. Nearby are the Baima Snow Mountain, perfect for hiking, the Niding Line, perfect for children, and numerous wineries. The town itself is famous for the story of a French grandmother. Driving on your own is definitely more enjoyable, but mountain roads require some driving skills.
Time is limited, so I'll definitely make up for this regret next time I drive on my own.

HHuoxiniI planned a trip specifically because I had this hotel, designed by Wu Bin, saved in my favorites. The moment I saw the snow-capped mountains, it was all worth it – the combination of Meili Bo Duo and the 'golden mountain bathed in sunlight' is just perfect!
Even the most basic courtyard rooms offer a glimpse of the snowy peaks, and there are plenty of spots in the public areas with even more breathtaking views and fewer crowds.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the thoughtful evening dessert was a lovely surprise – the butler quietly brought it to my room when I was out, which was both unexpected and heartwarming.
Moreover, the hotel offers many activities. I participated in Thangka painting and making ******* incense bags, which were excellent. Upon check-out, the butler even gave me a gift of soap and a prayer wheel.
All in all, to find a hotel like this at an altitude of 3500 meters where you can simply relax and gaze at the snow-capped mountains, I personally feel it was well worth the price.

AAnonymous UserThe view in the room is spectacular. You can see the view of the snow mountain and lush green mountains while taking a bath or in bed. It was the most wonderful stay for us.
The room also came with all the amenities needed, equipped with a Dyson hairdryer and a Smeg kettle, which seems very suitable for the price.
They also provide a free laundry service, which they will deliver clean clothes by your door in the morning. Beverages including water, soft drinks, coffee and tea are all included and can be provided as much as you need. They also prepared us sandwiches for us to take for our day hike.
The young lady at the front desk, who is also a barista, took very good care of us. She is always active on Wechat for any requests we may have. She also kindly helped us to arrange a van to pick us up from Ninong to Feilaisi.
Definitely a rewarding stay after long hikes!

AAnonymous UserThey say you might not see the ”Golden Mountain in the Sun” in October, so I booked this place to avoid wasting money on a view that might not deliver. Turns out, we actually saw it! Super worth it!! The location is right next to where the bus drops you off, so it's a very easy walk, and close to the Feilai Temple viewing platform. The room was unbelievably spacious, and the underfloor heating worked perfectly. There are only four or five rooms, and the view is absolutely stunning. The owner is very simple and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this for anyone hoping to catch the Golden Mountain but worried about a wasted 4-hour drive if they miss it. The accommodation quality is easily more than triple that of other scenic hotels at the same price point, and the courtyard itself can help ease any disappointment if you don't see the sunrise.
Let's talk about the downsides:
1. Feilai Temple is currently under construction, so there are large vehicles at night. I personally wasn't bothered by the noise, but I can't guarantee others wouldn't be. This seems to be a common issue for hotels along this road.
2. The room was very clean and tidy, but I wasn't a fan of the air freshener scent. My partner didn't notice it, though.
3. There were some really large flies. I hope the owner can improve pest control. Although they'll probably freeze to death in a few days, seeing them definitely puts a damper on the mood.

SSem S.We stayed here for three nights whilst exploring upper Yubeng and doing some of the hikes. The location is great with some good panoramic views of the mountains. Sunset and sunrise are both amazing from here! The service was good, friendly staff and kind people. The room is fine! We had a heater which helped a lot for the cold nights. We didn't like the disposable towels, such a waste! Also the room wasn't cleaned once in our three nights and we had to keep asking for toilet paper/towels ourselves. Apart from that everything was fine. Good vegetarian food too:)

KKathkath123I’m sharing my honest feedback in the hope the owners find this useful and can use this to improve. I am coming with good intentions and wish the owners the best!
If you are just looking for somewhere to lay your head after a long day of hiking and are a good sleeper, this place will suit you fine.
The beds are large and comfortable. The bed heater comes in very handy and the showers are hot. The wifi signal is good. The dogs and cats are cute.
With regards to where to improve, my suggestions below:
1. It is quite hard to find the place - the name is slightly different on Amap compared to Trip.com and as it’s a small village the roads don’t exactly match up with the map. Some signage would really help as other hotels have done. When you’ve been hiking for 5 hours and are tired you need some clear direction!
2. The owners have quite a relaxed and casual attitude to hospitality and I think they could do more to make you feel welcome. It is more of a homestay than a hotel - the common area doubles as the owners living space, and while the owners go about their day (eating, playing on phone, de-fleaing their cats) it can on occasion feel like you are intruding upon their space. A little hospitality would go a long way - a smile or acknowledgment when you enter the room, the offer of a hot drink on arrival or a warm welcome after your long hike to the village for example.
3. I think the above is especially true for foreign guests- I can speak and read some Mandarin so was able to get by, but it would be difficult if you had no understanding of the language and the hosts are not particularly forthcoming with help or information. This stands out as everywhere else we have been in China hosts have been so hospitable and willing to help - translation apps are so useful here. Just a simple one pager of what you offer, the menu, kitchen hours etc translated into English is my suggestion!
4. There is absolutely no soundproofing in the room. You can hear every footstep, whisper and noise from the adjoining rooms - if you are a light sleeper you will wake up. I would really recommend that this is addressed for guests’ peace!
5. Install one non-squat toilet in the shared bathroom area, so guests who aren’t used to these can use another type of toilet!
Unfortunately, there is still quite a bit of construction going on around but there’s nothing that the hosts can do about that - it is everywhere in the village.
We weren’t lucky enough to experience good weather while we were there but I have no doubt the views would have been incredible!

The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be.
Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!
