Offers superb services and is attentive to its guest which lives up to its name as a Japanese styled hotel. During period of stay, the gym and pool are down - hotel manager has kindly explained the situation and helped to arrange alternative services to make up for the experience (e.g., arranging breakfast box for us since we are leaving the hotel early in the morning) which is commendable. I personally like their Taobao collection service because they will arrange everything nicely if parcels reach hotel ahead of time and get guest to sign off to confirm quantity (instead of some hotels which require you to provide delivery codes which can be cumbersome for large quantities of parcel). The staff were also attentive and offers great help and services for all the questions we had, which is perfect for first time family travellers.
Location is also good (within second circle of Beijing) and walking distance to train. Good food options nearby the hotel as well, and for travellers who are lazy to get out, couple of good restaurants availability. Connecting path from hotel back door to Lawson and a Japanese bakery as well. If you prefer Beijing famous 紫光园, just cross the road from Lawson (good for breakfast and dinner/Peking duck). Grab the map that concierge prepares when you reach the hotel :)
Facilities wise, I personally like the spacious room set up and the card on the table which states clearly what are available for guests (including curlers, mirrors, steam iron), good for business travels. Can tell the hotel does have some age, but for the price point, it is acceptable since they do clean it well. Especially good that the housekeepers do room tour every night to ask guest if water/amenities needs to be replenished.

Excellent! Staying at Capital Hotel this time was absolutely the right choice, I have to give it a big 5-star rating! To be honest, my first impression upon entering was fantastic. The front desk lady was incredibly efficient with the check-in process and so friendly, none of that coldness you sometimes get at five-star hotels. I booked a king-size room, and as soon as I opened the door, I said ”wow”—the room was so bright and spacious, and the view of Beijing's nightscape from the large window was absolutely stunning! I really have to highlight their bed! Once you lie down, you don't want to get up; it's neither too soft nor too firm, just perfect, and the pillow height was just right. Even I, someone who usually has trouble sleeping in new places, slept soundly until morning. The details were also spot-on: the bathroom was sparkling clean, and the hot water came on quickly and powerfully. The biggest surprise was all the complimentary perks, like the ”Cloud Tour of the Forbidden City” cultural experience, travel photography, and the health-boosting soup at Junting Restaurant! It's rare to see such generosity these days. The location couldn't be better either; it's a 10-minute walk to Wangfujing, and there's a subway station right outside, making it super convenient to get anywhere. The hotel has many restaurants, including Chinese, Western, and hot pot, all delicious and reasonably priced! What made me feel most comfortable was the staff; everyone, from the bellboy who helped with luggage at the entrance to the cleaning aunties, greeted me with a smile, making me feel so warm inside. Excellent location - 1min from Beijing apm and main Wangfujing street. Lots of food around the vicinity but you got to explore a little bit.
I booked a Deluxe Twin Room. It was super spacious. Automated toilet seat(open/close) with bidet. Nice bathtub though I did not use it, since it's a hassle to open/close the open concept kind of toilet/bathroom.
Breakfast spread was decent but I personally think there could have been more variety. There's a few live station such as the zhajiangmien and omelette station. It was nice. A little more improvement could be made as I noticed the chef not wearing gloves. I do not mind but I just thought a 5 star hotel chef would be wearing gloves. No complains though.
Reception staff was very courteous, greeting you whenever they see you. Excellent service.
Cons - I think the lobby is way too small for a 5 star hotel like Hilton. There are only 2 seats and a long sofa which can sit up to 5 pax(maybe?). There are always guests around, so usually, I would have no place to sit. Though it's not an issue for me, I thought those elderly might need them. I walked around Wangfujing and noticed neighbouring hotels such as Regent, Novotel(4-star) has very huge lobby. But it is what it is.
Overall - Nice place, great service staff and spacious room. Breakfast spread could be better and open concept bathroom can be automated such that it is easy for people to close the doors. Lobby size is a big minus.

When we checked in, the front desk attendant, Xiao Lü, found out we had a child with us and kindly upgraded us to a 2.4-meter king-size bed room – so thoughtful! The only thing is the central heating is a bit intense; even when turned off, it's still warm, so we had to open the window to sleep. This was my second trip to Beijing in mid-to-late October, and I chose to stay at the same hotel I did years ago, which added a nice sense of familiarity to revisiting the city. The most appealing aspect is the hotel's central location in Wangfujing. The interior environment is still quite good; whenever you return, you can enjoy a hot tea in the lobby to ward off the early winter chill. I didn't get the 'Jiangnan' room, so I opted for a premium room with a bathtub. Although I don't usually take baths, the room felt much more spacious, and having a window for ventilation was convenient for temperature control. The cleaning lady was very outgoing and easy to communicate with; she replenished the water daily, and tea bags and soft drinks were refilled the next day after use. For small items I needed temporarily, I could provide a list on WeChat mini-program, and a robot would deliver them, which is perfect for introverted travelers. However, since there's only one elevator and one robot, food deliveries might be a bit delayed during peak hours, but calling for human service is a warm touch. When checking out on the morning of October 26th, the front desk attendant was very gentle, asked for detailed feedback, and even gave a small gift, which brought a perfect end to my trip. Sorry I promised to leave a review but only had time to write a few words today (๑• . •๑). I stayed at TONPAI for 5 days with my elderly parents during our trip to Beijing, and it was quite good. It's very close to the subway station, with many shopping malls nearby making dining convenient. The room was spacious, and although the building is older, it was kept very clean.
Hardware and Service: I booked a Deluxe King Room, which was over 30 square meters and quite roomy. The mini-fridge offered complimentary drinks daily, with 4 canned beverages (Coke, Fanta, Sprite available) and 4 bottles of Nongfu Spring water. The room had wooden floors, comfortable bedding, and a supportive mattress that provided good sleep during our stay. The only downside was the air conditioning; when it was 20 degrees Celsius outside, the room was 27 degrees, which was quite hot. We asked the front desk for a fan, and it was delivered promptly. Later, when the outside temperature dropped by 10 degrees, the room's heat issue improved significantly. There was some peeling paint on the walls, but the bathroom featured a good dry-wet separation and an independent shower stall. I particularly liked the small ledge in the shower where I could place my phone and watch shows while showering. Breakfast was plentiful, but after 5 days, I grew a bit tired of it (the small wontons and noodles were freshly cooked). The poached eggs were overcooked, so those who prefer soft-boiled eggs might be disappointed.
Transportation: The hotel is actually located above New World Department Store. You can use your room card to take the elevator directly from the 5th floor of New World Department Store to your room, avoiding a detour outside. This is especially convenient as New World's B1 has Daoxiangcun and Sanhe, so you can buy your goods and head straight back to your room. The H exit of Subway Line 5 is a 5-minute walk diagonally across the street. If you book a direct bus to the Great Wall through Ctrip, the pickup point for several locations is at the G exit of Hademen Mall, also a 5-minute walk. Location: The hotel is situated in Jinyu Hutong, Dongcheng District, right in the heart of the Wangfujing commercial area. It's only 400 meters from Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, easily accessible on foot, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square are also within 2 kilometers, giving it a unique geographical advantage for both tourism and business travelers.
Facilities: As an all-suite hotel, guest rooms are at least 60 square meters, offering spacious and comfortable living. I stayed in a Grand Premier Suite, which was a generous 75 square meters with a well-laid-out floor plan. The in-room amenities were also very luxurious, featuring a high-quality marble bathroom and a spa-mode bathtub. Additionally, the room felt very high-tech, with a control panel to adjust lighting, temperature, and other features.
Dining: The hotel's dining experience was remarkable. Breakfast was semi-buffet style; while the selection wasn't extensive, the quality of the food was excellent. The pan-fried beef short ribs and fresh shrimp laksa noodles were delicious and memorable.

The next day at 10:20 AM, the duty manager, Emma Qiu, arrived late. When confronted, she nonchalantly stated, 'It's only 20 minutes late.' Upon being informed that the complaint had been escalated to Marriott headquarters, she abruptly hung up with a dismissive 'We don't have any,' disappearing without a trace.
Act IV: The Reversal
After enlisting the help of Ctrip, 12315 (consumer protection hotline), and other parties, the plot took a dramatic turn: Manager Emma Qiu announced that silk pillows had been available all along! Final Act: The Cost

The hotel's facilities and external environment are quite good. The rooms are clean, quiet, and the bedding is comfortable. However, there are too many items on the bedside tables, leaving almost no usable space, which is a bit inconvenient. The outdoor air is fresh, and you can climb the mountain behind the waterfall for a distant view of Miyun Reservoir.
The indoor children's play area is a decent size, with slides, trampolines, and climbing structures suitable for older children. The decor feels a bit cold and empty, but the staff providing the childcare service are very responsible. Outdoors, there's a simple vegetable patch where you can pick vegetables freely to feed rabbits and chickens, and it's lit up at night. The kids really enjoyed these two areas. The various children's craft activities were set up like temporary stalls in one of the hotel's banquet halls, which felt a bit deserted and makeshift. We didn't have time to participate.
During the National Day holiday, there were many guests, and it felt like the staff were a bit overwhelmed. The overall service wasn't very meticulous, but everyone's attitude was good. The Half-Mountain Hot Spring is a public bath, but between 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM, there are very few people, making it easier to enjoy the best-viewed pools by yourself. Therapeutic treatments and dinner reservations need to be booked through the butler. Most other activities require advance booking on the mini-program, which can feel a bit cumbersome. We forgot to book dinner seats half a day in advance, and by the afternoon, we were told we'd have to wait until 7 or 8 PM. However, the in-room meal delivery service was excellent, and the food tasted good. The breakfast buffet offers a rich variety of high-quality ingredients, with both Chinese and Western options, though it leans more towards Western cuisine. The restaurant's capacity is limited. We're early risers, and our dining experience before 8:20 AM was good. After that, you'd have to wait in a long queue at the entrance.
At night, the hotel's outdoor areas are lit up, perfect for a walk in the comfortable temperature. You can even see the winding lights of the Great Wall in the distance.

Inside of the cabin was nice but the view was nothing like the pictures advertised: sure you can see some mountains but mostly other people's platforms and roofs.

It was a cute idea to have skylight but the cover was broken and the big sign was blocking the night sky view.
Promised two meals but only got one and was told that we were only allowed two vegetables dishes. Food was really salty and room only provided one bottle of drinking water.
Loads of stinky bugs out of nowhere, would just pop up on the bed or sitting area.
Parking location and luggage transport was intersting. Staff helped with one suitcase and seemed to just forgot about the others in the cart so had to carry on our own.

Traveling with two adults and two children during the National Day holiday, it was tough finding a hotel, but we eventually settled on the Marriott Executive Apartments, and it turned out to be a great fit. The hotel called ahead to warn us about potential traffic controls during the holiday and suggested taking the subway. Luckily, the hotel is right on Wangfujing Street, and it's a pleasant five or six-minute stroll to Exit E3 of the Wangfujing subway station – an excellent location!
While it's not specifically a family-friendly hotel, the room was super spacious. With a king-sized bed, a sofa bed, a large sofa, and three smaller ones, it was perfect for our family of four. The room was also very clean, and it came fully equipped with a refrigerator, dishwasher, a washer-dryer combo, and an induction cooktop, all Siemens brand appliances, and everything was spotless. After a day of battling crowds with two kids during the National Day holiday, coming back sweaty and being able to toss our clothes into the washing machine and have them clean and dry by the next morning was just amazing!
The front desk staff, Fiona and Sini, and the restaurant servers, all had wonderful attitudes. They gave out dolls and fridge magnets when they saw children, and since the Mid-Autumn Festival coincided with National Day this time, they even gave us mooncakes, which was a delightful surprise.
The breakfast at the restaurant, although not extensive, had all the essentials, both Chinese and Western options, including noodles and steamed dim sum. The most important thing was not having to queue for a table! Whether we went at 7 AM or 9 AM, our group of four always found seats immediately. And this was during the National Day holiday! For people like us, whose kids are in school and can only travel during peak seasons, you know how fantastic that experience is.
Overall, my impression of this stay was excellent. If I had to pick a minor drawback, it would be that they only provide children's slippers, not children's toothbrushes. If you're traveling with kids like us, remember to bring your own.FromVND 3,849,852

When I booked, I didn't notice there were two room types. Rooms below the 11th floor are 'apartments' – very minimalist, almost too bare, which I believe 90% of guests wouldn't like. I was rushing for a business meeting, so I just dropped off my luggage. I returned around 7 PM and found the TV was a Maxhub, which I couldn't figure out. I called housekeeping for help, and a kind auntie, 'Wang Lifang', came and got it working for me. I asked, 'Are all your rooms this minimalist?' She said no, explaining that it depends on the floor, and suggested I talk to the front desk about possibly changing rooms. She mentioned that if there's availability and no price difference, a change is usually possible. I checked the day's prices against what I paid, and there was little difference (though the room types varied). So, I went to the front desk to discuss it. They understood my concerns and promptly arranged a switch to a room like the Marriott ones I'd stayed in before. Coincidentally, the TV in this new room also wouldn't turn on. I called the front desk again, and they sent someone to my room. It turned out the remote control batteries were dead, and it was 'Wang Lifang' again who helped me out. She even fixed a clicking sound coming from the AC due to a power trip.
Objectively, the hotel is indeed a bit old, but the service is good and they do care about guests' feelings. However, I'd like to suggest that rooms below the 11th floor shouldn't have such a stark difference in guest experience, especially since the price difference isn't significant while the hardware quality is miles apart. This one in Beijing is very user-friendly. Recently, I opened a business nearby. I chose the cheapest reservation. The front desk called me that day to explain the situation. I told them that it was okay because I arrived in the early morning. It was the cheapest room type I voluntarily chose and it had nothing to do with the hotel. The front desk agreed to me humanely that there were other vacant rooms and they could help me upgrade for free.

Moreover, during my stay, the service at the hotel front desk made me feel warm! From the front desk receptionist's smiling service, patiently and meticulously explaining the check-in process, to the quick and efficient handling of the procedures, every detail showed a high level of professionalism. In the subsequent check-in process, there were problems that were actively communicated and solved. The location is convenient, with metro line 2 nearby, but it's still a bit of a walk from the station. After a day of sightseeing, coming off the metro and having to walk that far with tired legs was a bit frustrating. If you plan to travel by metro daily, be prepared for the walk.
Regarding the service, the two front desk staff on our first day were a bit indifferent, but the staff on the following days were very enthusiastic.
