❌ Common Mistakes to Avoid When Filling the Taiwan Arrival Card

Even though the process is quick, a few small errors can cause delays at immigration. Here are some common mistakes you should avoid:

Submitting too early: The arrival card is only valid for 3 days before your arrival. If you submit too early, it won't be accepted.

Entering the wrong flight number or date: Make sure the flight details match your actual booking. A mistake here might confuse the system and slow things down at the counter.

Typing errors in your passport number or name: Your info must match your passport exactly. One small typo can cause issues when you arrive.

Using an old confirmation after making changes: If you update your form, the latest submission replaces the old one. Always use the newest confirmation and QR code.

Do You Need to Print or Save the Confirmation?

After you submit your Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) online, you will receive a confirmation e‑mail with a QR code.

You don’t need to print the confirmation. The form is linked electronically to your passport, so immigration officers can retrieve your details directly. However, it’s recommended to save the QR code as proof of submission.

Tips Before You Travel to Taiwan

Taipei Night View

Arrive early at the airport in case of form errors or resubmission.

Print a copy of your hotel address in Chinese.

Bring a travel adaptor: Taiwan uses Type A/B plugs, different from Singapore’s Type G.

Prepare small change or an EasyCard for public transport. It’s convenient for MRT and buses.

Download useful apps like Google Translate, LINE (popular in Taiwan), and 台北捷運 (for MRT maps).

Buy a SIM card or eSIM for internet access on arrival.

Avoid bringing banned items, like fresh fruit, meat products, or plants. Taiwan’s customs checks can be strict.

Check the weather before packing. Taiwan’s weather can change quickly, especially during typhoon season (June–Oct).
