4-Star Hotels in Porto

From the moment I landed, I knew this stay would be special. I was collected from the airport in a luxury Jaguar , (completely free) and transported again at departure, including complimentary trips to and from the city centre. Actual VIP treatment from start to finish .... something I have never experienced anywhere else. Because my flights didn’t match standard hotel times, the team kindly allowed early check-in and late check-out at no extra cost, which took away all travel stress and made my stay even more comfortable. That flexibility meant everything to me. Every single staff member was amazingly warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Although I sadly didn’t manage to catch the names of the wonderful ladies at reception, they were absolutely incredible and deserve huge praise. Special mention to Tomas — such a professional, friendly, standout member of the team. I later found out his birthday was on Thursday 4th, and I wish I had the chance to say Happy Birthday before I left! The location is perfect — close to shops, cafés, and restaurants, making it easy to explore Porto while still enjoying a calm, comfortable stay. The room was immaculate — spotlessly clean, cosy, and beautifully prepared. And the amenities were next-level: Mini-bar, tea and coffee station with kettle, plush slippers, bathrobe, bottled water......everything thoughtfully provided. I was welcomed with a welcome drink on arrival, and a fresh fruit tray waiting in my room. Nothing felt standard, everything felt intentional. What truly sets this hotel apart is the attention to detail. There is a clear sense of care, love, and purpose in every interaction and every small touch. You’re not treated like just another guest , you are genuinely looked after. I honestly cannot fault a single thing about this stay. Hotel Jaguar Porto combines luxury service with real warmth and heart, a rare find. If you’re heading to Porto and looking for an experience that goes far beyond accommodation, this is THE hotel to book. 100% recommended. I will absolutely be back. ✨👏

Our family reserved 3 rooms and arrived on a very early flight . Jose was kind enough to get 1 of our rooms ready within an hour so we could at least wash up, rest for a bit, and refresh before going out for the day. He continued to take care of us throughout our stay with anything we needed, while being extremely kind and personal. He is an excellent representative of the quality and care the hotel offers. We also liked the ambiance of the hotel. It was nicely lit and decorated in a fun, eclectic, and relaxing fashion. Our room rate included the breakfast which was an amazing spread with much variety, highly recommend. Location was central, easy walking distance everywhere. Small disappoin**ent was lack of gym. I know we walk around alot but it would’ve nice to have the option as my husband and son like to exercise quite a bit. In addition, the TV lounge room which can be nice for teenagers/kids to use while waiting for our rooms to be ready was rather plain in terms of interior design, just gray concrete walls, as opposed to the interesting and colorful designs of the rest of the hotel. This is just an observation, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.

Fantastic stay at this friendly hotel. Good variety of breakfast food - nice small portions of cooked, fresh fruit and baked items. Comfy bed in clean room. And very good location. We will be back

We absolutely loved this place. Great location. Short walk to tons of restaurants, beautiful parks. The room was much bigger than we expected. Three double doors open to the front of the building. A narrow balcony. Lots of day light and fresh air. Noise from the street but we don’t mind city noise. Excellent bathroom with a nice shower. Charming building and decor. Espresso machine in the stairwell that we really appreciated. Attentive staff. Would definitely stay again. So comfortable.

We booked a junior suite and asked to be put on a high floor. However, we got assigned the ground floor room facing the inner courtyard, making the room quite dark. And the lighting inside the room did not help either since most of the lights were directed light. We have asked for a change of room but was told its not available. The room is on the ground floor close to the lobby and the restaurant. When we asked to change the room, I have expressed my concern that it would be noisy and the front desk agent assured me that it would not be the case. Then on New Year's Eve, they have a party in the restaurant with very loud music. And the sound obviously leaked into our room, and the party lasted till the small hours. The selection of food items at breakfast is quite limited. Its really quite mediocre compared with other hotels in this category. The only saving grace for this hotel is its location.

Just far enough from the busy crowded spots to feel peaceful, yet close enough to walk and or catch many different forms of transport. We booked planning to use the Sauna and Spa after a busy days sight seeing. Unfortunately they had time Limits that didnt allow such comfort, but that just made us do more in gorgeous Porto itself. The garden are well kept, a lovely, and not so small, green space to sit and enjoy the sunshine. Ana checked us in, she was wonderfully fun and full of so much helpful Information!! She gave us a fantastic, if not a little too ambitious itinerary for our short visit. And not one piece of advice Was wrong! Thankyou!! The apartments are nice, they have a warm grounding vibe. Everything Was comfortable except our bed, but that is always relative to who's sleeping in it. Well equipped for short stays, extra kitchen Equipment was available on request. But theres too many delicious options practically on your doorstep. We barely Even had coffee in our room. I would gladly return and stay at Apartments Oporto Anselmo again. And recommend

The hotel has both pros and cons. Location is not the best for sightseeing, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the nearest metro, then a few stops to the main attractions, which can be inconvenient especially in rainy weather. On the plus side, it’s right next to a lively market/food court with lots of local bites, and there’s even a supermarket inside. The staff were very kind, spoke good uEnglish, and even provided a welcome plate with fruits and egg tarts, which was a lovely touch. The room itself was nicer than the photos: spacious, very clean, with a safe box, closet, and separate bathroom and toilet. Breakfast was plentiful with many varieties, though it was the same selection every day. A few downsides: the cleaning staff entered my room twice while I was inside (once early in the morning while I was asleep, and another time while I was in the bathroom). They may have knocked, but it still felt intrusive. The window setup was also awkward, my room faced the lobby, so I had to keep the curtain closed the whole stay for privacy, which made the room dark. Overall, it’s a comfortable hotel with great staff, but the location isn’t ideal if you want to be close to main attractions. If the price is good compared to the ones in the center, then it could be a good choose as taxis to the center cost about €5 one way. Otherwise, I’d probably choose somewhere in the more central area next time.

Lovely apartment, but has some niggling things which could be improved. However, one thing I imagine can’t be improved is the amount of natural sunlight coming in. I stayed in building 339, floor 3 apartment 10. The windows are either too small to let much light in, or it’s facing another side of the building into someone else’s apartment. When I first entered, I also had 6 different flies of all sizes in the kitchen area. When I queried about this, it’s apparently an issue in the warmer seasons. I didn’t let these flies in, so they must have been let in when cleaning the apartment. The other issue was, the floors weren’t cleaned very well with crumbs in corners. However, the bedding and towels smelt lovely and were clean. I would have liked flatter pillows, the once they have are way too high and caused neck pains, but this seems to be a thing in Portugal as other places I’ve stayed have a similar setting. The shower has no proper seal to stop water from flooding the bathroom floor, other than a piece of silicone ***** on the shower floor, but it wasn’t sealed down so it was pointless. If you’re a light sleeper, it’s generally very quiet but I had an issue with neighbouring apartments with someone walking around with heels and shoes. They provide slippers! Please use them to not disturb others. Overall, a good stay and location.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it is spacious, clean, quiet (at least at the floor we were; otherwise at another floor, it was much less quiet ... when passing by it, it was obvious - from the sound through the door - what was happening in one room) and easy to get to due to its close access to the tram (which can get us into the city). The staff was dedicated (especially Carlos, really helpful, friendly, and attentive - we enjoyed discussing with him!) Around the hotel you have different restaurants; their quality vary from very good (Taberna Londrina) to better-to-avoid (quite a bunch), there are also some supermarkets which need a bit of a walk before getting to them (15-20 min) but always great to know you have some not too far from the hotel. Although people in Porto appreciate a lot gathering in the evening to discuss and drink, the neighbourhood is not too noisy during the middle of the night. If we have another event happening in Porto, Eurostars - if they keep up with such good service - will definitely be the choice to live in again!
