The location is fantastic, with plenty of dining and shopping options right downstairs. It's also super convenient for visiting all the attractions. There's a coffee shop nearby that always has a long line, I'm not sure what the big deal is, but I didn't get to visit Livraria Lello because it's always so crowded and requires reservations. Definitely on my list for next time!

The room was clean and had air conditioning. The sightseeing bus stop is nearby, and the train station is also close, but there's a big, steep slope with cobblestones, making it very difficult to drag luggage. However, you can call an Uber. Right outside the hotel's main entrance, to the right, there's a small downhill path that leads to the D. Luis I Bridge where you can take the cable car.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL !!!! Had to change rooms twice. First time our 2nd floor room stunk of food from a Restaurant. Opening the window made it unbearable. We were changed to the 1st floor which was even worse as it was infested with COCKROACH!!! Trip.com (who we booked through) communicated with the hotel to ask for compensation but the Mercure hotel refused. I even asked Trip.com to ask if they would move us to their other hotel as we weren't too happy staying in a cockroach infested hotel. But this was not accommodated either. So DO NOT book this Mercure hotel in Porto.

Simply the best. This hotel was one of the best ones I have ever stayed. Everything in every aspect was beyond my expectations.
