With a couple of friends, we stayed at the President Hotel in October for a total of 3 nights, the hotel in itself was a major success, despite being quite low key online. The neighborhood it's located in is very secure and calm, Zamalek overall is a nice part of the city, with many places to visit, and cute hidden gems. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, and well-maintained; and the room-service was excellent. If there was one thing to be brought up as a downside, it would definitely be the Pyramids tour we had the misfortune of going through with the agency they work with. However, after having reported the horrendous experience we went through to the reception, our complaint was taken seriously immediately and the hotel managed a partial 45% refund of the money paid and apologized continuously for the inconvenience; kudos to Ahmad at the reception.

There was not a single hair dryer, attention, in the entire hotel. How is that possible?? And there was almost no hot water, I mean at allšŸ˜… only at night. Otherwise šŸ‘ŒšŸ» There is a kettle in the room, and everything for tea drinking, the bed is good, the closet is big.

The hotel is located very close to Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum, and a few other old downtown highlights. While the outside of the building looks slightly dilapidated--clearly beyond the control of the hotel--the entrance to the hotel and the interior is nicely done and inviting. Staff are very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and have the essentials. In the dining area, complementary tea and water are on offer throughout the day. A few drawbacks: the street noise is very clearly heard from within the rooms (windows are not double paned), and Cairenes LOVE to honk for any and all reasons so you'll still feel very in touch with street life even within the hotel. Breakfast is rather mediocre: expect toast, hard boiled eggs, some jam, and a small cup of yoghurt, accompanied by tea or nescafe. The bedsheets are in serious need of updating (they are extremely rough and scratchy, making sleeping difficult). The bathrooms are an afterthought - just a corner in the room cordoned off by half-frosted glass, so it is recommended that you are very comfortable sharing all bodily functions with whomever you share the room. Despite a clear 'no smoking' sign at the front desk, staff still smoke in common areas (entry, dining area). We stayed in the room at the far end of the hallway (there are only six rooms) and could smell the smoke very clearly from inside our room with the door shut. When I went to pay for our room at checkout, one staff member sat directly in front of me smoking. I called him out on it, pointing at the 'no smoking' sign right in front of us, and he apologised profusely and moved away with his cigarette. I am 100% confident he resumed smoking inside as soon as we left. Some of the basics aren't looked after: the room we were given had no pillowcases on three of our four pillows, and only one towel. The rest of the linens were out at the cleaners, and since there was only one person on staff, we had to stand in for the staff at the front desk so they could run out and pick up the clean linen. Rooms don't come with soap, but we were given a bottle of liquid soap when we asked. Early checkin is USD 25 on top of the regular room charge. The staff offered to arrange a car back to the airport on our departure, quoting a price double of what we paid to get from the airport to the hotel in the first place. It is recommended to just take an Uber instead (EGP 100-125, depending on traffic and time of day). Overall, it's not a bad hotel, and the staff's kindness goes a long way to compensate for the weaknesses noted above.

The design of the room is simple and comfortable. Compared with the classic decoration, this 3-star hotel is very good, but the passers-by are a bit noisy for some time at night. In normal times, the area is still very quiet, and there is a very high evaluation in the area near the hotel. The pizza restaurant, wine cellar and bar are very suitable for tourists who are mainly out of town.

A very soul hotel located on the most beautiful round square of Cairo. In general, Cairo is worth living either in the center (Dauntaun/Island Zamalek) or already in Giza near the pyramids (if you only care about them). If you choose the center, the area of Talat Harb Square, where Cairo Inn is located, is one of the best options in price-quality ratio. It is not as expensive as in ā€bigā€ hotel networks, but the level of comfort is noticeably higher than in cheap host hotels, which are scattered around different corners in the center. To the main attractions of the center can be reached on foot. The hotel is located on 2-3 the floor of a beautiful building ā€in Paris styleā€ which comes to the area. The most classy rooms have small balconies with a table where you can have breakfast (a table with breakfast is brought to the room), Sitting in the evenings and even smoking calyan (his for the extra fee will bring to you). But it is necessary to bear in mind that the windows on the square are constant noise from cars, and the eternal biking of Cairo drivers is truly legendary. The design of the room is made in the style of ā€eastern chic,ā€ although not without small cosies (badly closed the door on the balcony, lacked roses, etc.), but it is more petty, in general everything is comfortable. The hotel has a perfectly beautiful Joseph, with whom we have practically been friends. He helped solve any issues and problems, for example, changed us the euro to Egyptian pounds at a very good rate when the surrounding ATMs didn't help us with it. In general, we are very happy, then again stayed in this hotel (for acquaintance with the city - the perfect place).

Located at the famous Champollion street, this hotel is 2 blocks away from the Cairo museum. We used the hotel sort of as transition during our trip. We paid one night so we can store our luggage and take a shower before heading to the airport for our trip to Luxor. The hotel doesn't start the first floor. It starts at the 6 floor. We got a little confused going up on the elevators. Got lost because we took the second elevator in the property which requires a key card to go up because there are actually apartments on the lower floors. After that it was straight forward. Rooms booked thorough *********** were reserved and paid; waiting for us. The rooms are very nice and clean; good size too. Bathrooms are also very clean although the shower is kind of small. The small shower seems to be a thing in Egypt. We walk from the hotel to the Cairo museum. Is only 5 minutes away. Staff was very helpful and nice. They help us call a taxi for the airport when we left that night.

At arrival I was overblown by the unexpected friendly welcomed by the family and their aid Saudy. That was no temporally show, my whole stay at theyr place feeled like beĆÆng at home but with the difference that I have been served as a King. I'm 62 years young ... My room: clean, perfect, excellent with privat bathroom & hot water, good airco, a large bed with a very good matrass. Compairing with 4-star hotelrooms in Europa, this room deserves the double amount off stars & more. Breakfast = Enormous & Delightfull with Taste. There is a balcony where smoking a cigaret & having a drink: the vieuw on Talaab Street and the open sky is amazing ... Internet WIFI = superfast ... Any questions, doubts, informations, ask Walid & Saudy: U get the best true answers. U can come & go 24h's (day_nightlife in CaĆÆro never ends) ... U are in the real center from CaĆÆro: markets, many good streedfood, ... etc. Again ... Thankxs Walid & Family & Saudy for the best time I've got at Your Place. I'll come back in 2025, at Your Place. One week is not enough to explore & know CaĆÆro. And if I lived close by, I would come every day to say hello & continious free openminded talk ... Warm Greetings, Frank.

Position side of this hotel is, it is situated on nice location -Tahrir Square. Building is very old and no one will like the entrance at the ground floor as area is not clean - dust, garbage. Elevator is very old. No lift man or any one to help to go up for the first time. So, I needed to climb up to 7th floor with stair case. They provided a big room. But, furniture of the room need maintenance. No complimentary drinking water. I booked the room with breakfast. but, they can only serve breakfast after 9 AM as they buy from local shops. We would not stay on this hotel in future.

I ordered it for a friend. I visited it. It has the feeling of Egyptian decoration. The elevator is very antique, which is a bit interesting. Very quiet, in the busy city, very good! Convenience, nice room, That is, the big bed room gave two beds!

GGuest UserA gem of a small boutique hotel in a great location & good area. Rooms are unique & although the building old the bathroom modern & the beds very comfortable. Great service & very attentive & helpful staff. There are several restaurants within the hotel, offering a diverse option of cuisines. Breakfast is served in the Carlos restaurant & excellent. My only criticism, after enjoying one cocktail & making the decision to come back & eat later, they charged all of the service & local taxes but worse a cover charge. This small incident left me a bit annoyed & needless to say, I didn't go back to eat. Other than this small thing I had a lovely experience staying here & would highly recommend.

KKimbriniTahir Plaza is a very unusual budget hotel. Dora and Marcelino go waaay beyond what you might expect from a budget place and their genuine kindness and desire to please is reflected in the tours they arrange with guide Ashour (who we used). The rooms are divided over two floors, the second and fourth. We had Amun room on the fourth floor which was MASSIVE and had a balcony. It was scrupulously clean - I spotted them ironing the bedsheets whilst they were already on the bed which Iā€™d attention to detail isnā€™t it! The building itself (away from hotel area) would be a kindness to call shabby and doesnā€™t form a great opinion when first arriving at the building. The hotel rooms are clean, high ceilinged and beautiful though and offer real value for money. We spent the money we saved by staying here on private tours arranged by the hotel - omg you must try them! Go to Wadi Al Hitan desert and see fossilised whales in the sand, have breakfast in the middle of the desert with fossilised sea shells shimmering around you (30 million years ago, the desert was the bottom of the sea). Ishmael the Bedouin will zoom the 4 wheel drive up and down sand dunes whilst blasting out Arabic trance style musicā€¦.later, swim in magic lake! Thats all one trip! We had the best time ever at Tahir plaza thank you Dora and Marcelino!

MMr JdIt was a very pleasant stay. It's very small place on forth floor for 200 years old building. Arhitecture is astonishing for those ones who appreciates old, high ceiling buildings. Breakfast was very tasty and stuff is highly pleasant, friendly and helpful. Place is very clean and tidy. However room was very small and bathroom was so tiny, plus weight person won't be able to use it. Overall great stay, great location and experience.

AAnonymous UserGeneral impression - a normal place to stay for a few nights. Perfect location nearby Egyptian Museum and the Sadat subway station. But this causes a very noisy surrounding: honking cars move just beneath the windows all day long. Helpful staff. A very nice cafe La Poire accessible without leaving the building. Good breakfast, a lot of options changing daily. Coffee could have been better though. The room was cleaned (I moved two beds together and found no dust underneath), but it's quite weary. The window lock didn't work, the fridge was loud. Black mold in the shower was upsetting, too. No iron nor ironing board in the room, but ironing service available at a reasonable price about 50 EGP per piece.

BBeckCastle Hotel is the best place to discover Cairo! It felt like home to me. I was in 8 different hotels in Cairo on my tour: castle hotel is my family and my choice no1 now. I know where to go to on future trips. Castle Hotel :) The hotel is located in the 16th floor, so you have the best view you can find. You can see so far. You can the city, the Nile, a little bit of a pyramid. Best traffic connection because ramses street. Shops 1 minute walk. Abu tarek koshari 5 minute walk, river Nile 5 minute walk. The staff is amazing. Friendly, always willing to help, welcoming, discrete. Itā€™s a very nice vibe up there. The sounds of the city far away. Very relaxing. Next time I book an extra night just to enjoy the view. Itā€™s just vibrant there and you feel the energy of the city. Canā€™t wait to come back! Thank you for everything! See you!

GGuest UserThis ā€hotelā€ is a scam. It is a room in an empty derelict building. The front entrance is wide open. There is no reception or security. It is not a hotel although comes up in a search for a hotel. I was fooled by the name ā€Cairo Dream Boutique Hotelā€. It is a nightmare. There was a poor looking guy sitting on a chair outside the building. By western standards, this place was worse than scary. I booked this accommodation on ******* and all nights needed to be paid up front (unusual). I arrived late at night. A guy in an old dirty car picked me up at the airport and he was the ā€hotel transferā€. That was the first red flag. He was parked at least a 10 minute walk from the airport. On the way to the address, driver wanted to stop the car for gas . . . I was asked if I would like some food in my room. They would arrange for something to be delivered. By now I was starting to get worried and asking if it was a real hotel. I did not get a straight answer. When we arrived it was off the main area of traffic in a dark street. The door to the building was wide open. There was no one around. The building sounded empty and hollow. Curious and trying to not base everything on western standards, I went to the room. Then when we got to the floor still no one around. The hallway was dark. The driver opened the door of the room. It was also dark with a dim bulb lit. I saw two beds but it was so dark I could barely make out what was in the room. I did not go in - I was afraid of being alone with driver and being raped in the room. The pictures on the ******* website are fake. They show beds with white linen and furniture. There was only two beds in the room next to the wall. Windows were wide open over the bed. The elevator did not work to go down and I ran down 7 flights of stairs with my bag. I could not get out of there fast enough. It was almost midnight and I just wanted to go back to the airport. The person who registered this site with ******* was fully paid for each night booked. When they were contacted by ******* they said that I did not ā€check inā€ and therefore not eligible for a refund. Frightening experience and set the tone for the rest of my visit to Cairo. To be aware, and that there are no regulations. People can fool authorities and be certified to list with fake pictures of an accommodation. I am a seasoned traveler and have traveled through the middle east a lot - this location was the worst - an area I would not walk through - let alone stay in. I appreciate everyone needs to make a living, but the name of this accommodation and the website are completely misleading. A complete scam. I lost my trust in everything and everyone from that point including booking sites. Will be doing my research with regard to reviews and stick to a chain hotel for arrival. Then visually inspect a potential accommodation after arrival.
