The hostel is a welcome respite from the chaos of Cairo. Note that there are two floors, 1 and 4, but are connected by a vintage elevator as well as a stairwell. Breakfast provided each day was sincerely appreciated and delicious, made fresh for each person. The beds are comfortable and equipped with a small light and a power outlet to charge your devices. There is a common area to hang out with others and meet people. Some of the fittings are broken in the bathrooms but you will get by fine.

It's very comfortable, the staff are responsive, and the room is clean. Special thanks to the housekeeping ladies. I will definitely use this hotel again next time. Thank you all for your hospitality.

I stayed in Egypt for a week by myself, so I didn't book a five-star hotel. From a 100-pound Airbnb to a 700-pound hotel, only this one and the 700-pound hotel had working air conditioning/heating, and the room cleanliness was among the top two 😥. The downside is that this is more like renting out a private residence (the owner lives there too), and the apartment building and surrounding environment are quite poor, so you'll have to weigh the value for money yourself. For solo female travelers, I'd definitely recommend a hotel instead. Also, I have to complain about the menu pricing. The same bottle of water costs 6 EGP (less than 1 RMB) at the downstairs supermarket. It's typical of places that charge domestic hotel prices without providing domestic hotel service quality.

Exceptional Stay with Truly Wonderful Staff! I recently completed a stay at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed. Everything about my visit, from the moment I checked in until I departed, was good and comfortable. The physical property itself is excellent; my room was well-maintained, spotless, and provided a peaceful retreat after a long day. The hotel atmosphere is pleasant, and the facilities were exactly what I needed. However, the highlight of this hotel is unquestionably the nice staff. Every member of the team I interacted with—from the front desk to housekeeping—was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met, always greeting me with a smile and making me feel valued as a guest. Their dedication to service truly elevated the entire experience. If you are looking for a hotel that offers great quality and is staffed by people who clearly take pride in their hospitality, look no further. Highly recommended!

We had a very good stay overall. Considering Cairo standards, the apartment was clean enough and comfortable. The neighborhood and location were excellent, with plenty of great restaurants and cafés nearby. It’s also very close to the Nile—about a 7-minute walk. There are restaurants on boats along the river where you can enjoy a meal while taking in the view, and you can even go on a Nile cruise from the same area. Honestly, we didn’t need to take a taxi at all for dining or cafés. There’s also a really nice café right at the corner with excellent coffee—I highly recommend it. The building itself was very quiet, and we didn’t hear any noise from neighbors at all. The only noise was from traffic on the street (cars and motorbikes), which is normal and not really a downside of the apartment. The building had a security guard, and we were even able to leave our luggage with him after check-out, which made it much easier for us to explore the city before our flight. Finally, special thanks to Michael, the host. He was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. No matter what time we messaged him, he always responded and guided us with any questions we had.

The place was clean, the room was a little smaller than I imagined, staff polite and helpful, excellent stay for the price would recommend to those on a budget The lack of local shops on this very smart new development means remembering to buy everything elsewhere

Super cheap hotel, convenient location, suitable for a short stay. I saw a special offer for accommodation when buying a flight on Trip.com: two nights in a single room for only AU$21, including a simple breakfast. For this price, the overall experience was acceptable. The biggest advantage is the extremely convenient location, close to Liberation Square, within walking distance to the old Egyptian Museum. There's also a police bus stationed at the intersection downstairs, which made me feel relatively safe. Most of the front desk staff were very friendly, but the morning and evening shifts changed frequently every day, so sometimes it was hard to recognize them. Fortunately, the hotel has quite a few surveillance cameras. The room was larger than expected, very spacious for a single person. It had air conditioning that worked very well and a refrigerator. The sink had good water pressure, and while the toilet flush was weak, it was still usable. A peculiar detail was the pigeons on the ceiling of the room; I kept hearing them walking around up there until after midnight when it finally became quiet 😂. The desk was also broken, set up on two stools. There was no kettle or teacups in the room, and toiletries only included shower gel. A hairdryer had to be borrowed from the front desk. The most inconvenient part was the elevator being temporarily out of service without prior warning. On the first night, I was exhausted after returning and had to climb five flights of stairs. Thankfully, the elevator was back in service when I had to move my luggage the next day. Also, the entrance was a bit hard to find. The Arabic numeral '5' on the doorplate looks a lot like the English letter 'O', so you have to look carefully. The entrance is right next to Crystal Pastry. Overall, if it's your first time in Cairo and you need a cheap and convenient place to stay for one or two nights, I think it's acceptable. For AU$21 for two nights plus breakfast, you really can't ask for much more. However, if you prioritize accommodation quality, quietness, and complete facilities, I wouldn't recommend it.

When we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

We stayed for five days. First, they upgraded us to room 416, a fairly large triple room with a terrible smell from the toilet, as if someone had gone to the bathroom and not flushed it. Then they moved us to the farthest room, a double economy room, 434. There were cockroaches in the room, a dirty, shabby room, and there was no running water periodically, so we had to wait. Outside the window, there was a staircase and a garbage dump where cats jumped and meowed at night. So, I figured this was normal.

The room faced the street and was very noisy all night.
