Downtown Antique Hotel

Our 'deluxe' room turned out to be quite worn down in the end. The towels were stained black and I didn't dare use them. The breakfast was forgettable. The front desk staff at check-in was impatient, but the next day, a different person at the front desk was smiling and very pleasant. The shower water was good though.

The lady at the front desk and the gentleman operating the elevator were both very kind, which was lovely. The hotel lobby is on the second floor. There's staff near the elevator to guide you, so it's not a problem. The room was spacious, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I really felt the hospitality with the welcome fruit and homemade breakfast.

After a trip around Luxor, I returned to Cairo and rebooked this antique hotel in the city center because my previous stay was quite good. I accidentally booked the wrong dates (one day too early) while feeling groggy on an overnight bus to Cairo. When I arrived, I explained the situation to the lovely front desk staff, and it was quickly resolved.

The building itself is old, but it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were super helpful and accommodating when I made a request, which I really appreciated! My only regret is that I couldn't finish breakfast because I wasn't feeling well, but overall, I had a great stay at this hotel.

The hotel is located in central Cairo, making it very easy to catch a taxi. The breakfast was nutritious and plentiful. The welcome fruit (watermelon) wasn't fresh; it was mushy and poorly cut. The hotel was a bit hard to find, but the staff were very friendly and enthusiastic.

Seriously, avoid this place, especially if you're arriving late at night. The shower in our room barely trickled, and the water was freezing. I called the front desk, and the guy just stood at the bathroom door, running the water for ages, then told me it was 'warm' based on his hand. Who can shower with that? My friend had to wash her hair in the sink! It was so frustrating not being able to shower. We eventually moved to another room, but the shower pressure there wasn't much better. There were hardly any outlets in the whole room, and then I found one hidden behind the nightstand – who puts an outlet where you have to move furniture to use it? And the phone to call the front desk wasn't even plugged in. They provided a kettle, but there were no outlets nearby to boil water. What a mess.

A very nice hotel in the city center. Breakfast is served from 8 AM to 10 AM, and you can also store your luggage.

The hotel's location is truly excellent; it's just a few minutes' walk to the heart of Liberation Square. However, the elevator is very old and requires manual door operation. Also, the hotel breakfast is quite basic and not a buffet.

The water for the shower stopped, but it was fixed quickly. Later, I realized there were no towel racks or hangers for clothes in the bathroom, which was incredibly inconvenient! The cold water tap in the sink made a loud, strange noise. At night, the soundproofing in the room was very poor, and the noise from street traffic disrupted my sleep. The only good thing was that breakfast was decent. Overall, it wasn't a great experience.
