"Before coming to Hongcun, I didn't have high expectations, thinking it would just be another old village to visit and leave. However, my stay at 'Hongcun Yike Homestay' made me feel that every detail of this trip radiated warmth. Upon arriving at Hongcun bus station, I was unfamiliar with the area and was stressing about how to drag my luggage across the stone-paved paths to the homestay while looking at a map. The moment I called, the owner's enthusiastic voice immediately put me at ease: 'Wait there, I'll be right over to pick you up!' In less than ten minutes, the owner appeared on an electric scooter, swiftly tied my luggage to the vehicle, and cheerfully motioned for me to hop on. We weaved through Hongcun's winding alleys and past bustling crowds of tourists. The homestay was tucked away in a quiet lane near Moon Pond, an excellent location. You could see Moon Pond just around the corner, yet it was peaceful and quiet – truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Stepping into the courtyard, I was captivated by this homestay, a renovated Huizhou-style building. The exquisitely carved porch, wooden corridors, and rustic private courtyard exuded the unique elegance and serenity characteristic of Huizhou homes. Inside the room, it was bright and clean. The antique-style wooden bed paired with a soft mattress offered both classic charm and comfort. The night was exceptionally quiet, and I slept soundly. Early the next morning, I opened the window to a beautiful view of the Huizhou-style horse-head walls in the morning light, distant mountains draped in lush greenery, and the nearby sounds of birdsong and fragrant flowers. It truly felt like living inside a traditional Chinese ink wash painting. On the day of my departure, the owner drove me to the bus station as usual, reminding me of other places I hadn't visited in Hongcun along the way. Before saying goodbye, the owner pulled out a packet of chrysanthemum tea from the trunk, handed it to me, and smiled, saying, 'This is our local chrysanthemum tea, take it home and try it.' Holding that packet of tea, my heart felt warm. Staying here truly felt like returning to an old friend's home in Huizhou, thoughtful and considerate in every way. 'Yike Homestay' truly lives up to its name – making one feel 'at ease' (逸) and so content that guests (客) forget to leave. Next time I'm in Hongcun, I'll definitely stay here again."

"This hotel is super close to the South Gate, and the staff, especially the ladies, are incredibly warm and attentive. The room was very clean, and while the window faces the street, there's a bit of noise in the morning, but it's fine if you're heading out early anyway. The room gets good light too. The bathroom has a separate shower and toilet, which is great. The complimentary tremella soup was delicious and not too sweet. It's really convenient to be able to grab water from the dispenser right by the hotel entrance. The laundry room is on the first floor, which was perfect for washing all our clothes after hiking Huangshan in the summer. Breakfast is a set menu, but the portions are generous and the food is tasty. The hotel also provides contact info for electric scooter rentals, and you can pick up the scooter directly at the South Gate for a daily rental, which is super convenient for exploring nearby attractions."

"The hotel's location is excellent, less than a 10-minute walk to the main attractions. The hotel itself has a serene atmosphere, with a beautiful Jiangnan garden-style setting. You could easily spend a comfortable and peaceful day just relaxing in the courtyard with a cup of tea, without even needing to visit the sights. The cleanliness standards are on par with a five-star hotel, and they thoughtfully provide two types of slippers. The service is very attentive; they offer shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and are both welcoming and discreet. The front desk lady was especially kind, giving detailed directions."

"I booked the Hongcun Wanxinglou·Nanhupan Garden Homestay online. It's conveniently located right by the South Lake, near Hongcun's South Gate, making it easy to visit all the core attractions. The room was spacious and tidy, with a separate wet and dry bathroom that had no strange odors. They provided disposable toilet seat covers and decent quality toilet paper, as well as a full set of disposable amenities. The entire homestay has a charming rustic, antique vibe, and the room was very quiet. I was quite satisfied! Due to bad weather forecast for Huangshan the next two days, I canceled my subsequent plans and immediately extended my stay here for another night offline to enjoy a deeper exploration of Hongcun, hehe! The food here is also quite good, and both the owner and staff are very warm and enthusiastic. Recommended!"

"Amazing place - modern room and amenities inside an ancient home. Clean and comfy beds, renovated, gleaming bathroom. Owner and staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating; don’t hesitate to ask them for help getting around the area (including to Huangshan and to train stations) and seeing the sights. Also don’t miss out on their restaurant, located in the back of their main office — great environment, delicious food. Overall, highly recommend; would return!"

"The hotel is right next to Hongcun and across from Qishu Lake. In the mornings, you can step out and see the morning mist, and it's not far from Xiuli and Tachuan. It's also great for an early morning run. Getting there is very convenient; you can take a bus from Yixian East High-Speed Rail Station to Hongcun Bus Station, and the hotel is only about 300 meters away. They even offer a thoughtful pick-up and drop-off service. The hotel has a large common area on the first floor, and a terrace on the third floor with a beautiful view of Qishu Lake. The entire check-in process was very pleasant, with all the staff being incredibly warm and helpful. We received welcome fruits, and in the evening, they provided milk and snacks. The breakfast was also rich and delicious. As a bonus, there's a resident cat employee named ”Sprite” who even offered a wake-up call in the morning – cat lovers will be thrilled!"

"Highly highly recommend to stay in 上善若水 民宿 if you visit 宏村。 The place is conveniently located near 月昭, which is one of the most pretty sight in 宏村。 Hotel is beautiful , spacious and very clean , with a big yard where you can sip tea and enjoy the serene vibe of the place. There are 9 rooms ,all nicely designed by interior designer. Service by the owners, husband and wife pair is impeccable. You feel welcome immediately with attention to your every need! Feels like you are staying with friends who provide you with comfort in a foreign place. Home cooked breakfast every morning and great quality sleep every night! Some photos of the hotel below.
