Banyan Tree Huangshan

My stay at Banyan Tree Huangshan was fantastic! I booked two packages for the Luyuan King Room and stayed for six days, and every day was a joy. All the staff here were excellent. First, I was assigned a butler named Amy, who provided warm and thoughtful service. She sent me WeChat updates on all the hotel's activities and told me to let her know if I needed anything at any time. It felt very considerate. The environment is also beyond praise; it's very close to Lucun Village, and the views from the balcony and the hotel lobby are simply stunning. It felt like I didn't even need to leave the hotel to experience the beauty of Huizhou. The hotel offers a rich variety of activities, like the fish lantern parade and the close-up experience of iron flower making, which were brilliant. My child also participated in various pastry-making sessions. The chefs were wonderful; we joined three times, and each time the师傅 (master/chef) was great with both kids and adults. The pastries we made were truly delicious. The only downside was the room where we made pastries; it might be too close to the outside, as it was a bit warm. I hope they can improve that. The housekeeping and valet staff were also exceptionally courteous and provided thorough service. All in all, my trip to Banyan Tree Huangshan was absolutely delightful!

The hotel boasts picturesque scenery. The rooms are spacious, clean, and bright. The butler service is attentive, and the shuttle bus is available on call. Complimentary fruit and gifts are provided daily, and the breakfast is rich and varied. The hotel also offers a wide range of activities such as sunset rituals, iron flower performance, and fish lantern viewing. It's the perfect choice for those who love the Huizhou style and seek a slow-paced lifestyle.

Brought my wife here for our anniversary, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel service was excellent, and the parking lot even has charging stations. Our room was clean and hygienic, and breakfast was quite rich and varied. It's also super convenient to visit Lucun and Hongcun; a taxi ride costs just a few bucks if you don't feel like driving.

Banyan Tree Huangshan offers a complete resort-like experience. You can open your window to a beautiful view of traditional Huizhou villages nestled within the mountains. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the aromatherapy created a very pleasant ambiance. Our butler, Felix, was very responsive. It's very close to Hongcun Village, and the peaceful atmosphere is perfect for relaxation. Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

Banyan Tree Huangshan is about an hour's drive from Huangshan Mountain, so the long drive can be quite tiring. Perhaps this is part of the hotel's charm, as it's set in an area with beautiful scenery. The overall facilities are very well thought out; road signs are clear, and the lighting along the roads at night provides excellent guidance. The service is also exceptional; hotel staff and breakfast restaurant staff respond immediately to assist guests. Our butler, DM, also proactively asks about guests' needs and provides prompt feedback and service. The pointed ceiling design of the guest rooms gives a sense of spaciousness, and rooms facing the scenic view allow you to sit on the balcony and enjoy a coffee. The rooms are clean and tidy. The pool wasn't crowded, which was perfect for taking the kids for a swim on a hot day. The only drawback was that the air conditioning in the breakfast restaurant was insufficient, and the space was small, making it a bit chaotic when there were many guests. Eating there, I ended up sweating quite a bit.

Before checking into Banyan Tree Huangshan, my expectations were really high, but I ended up quite disappointed. Let me start with the positives: 1. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, quite decent for a star-rated hotel. The fresh juices were squeezed on demand, and the fruit quality was excellent. Most importantly, the staff were very efficient at clearing tables and setting up, so there was never any waiting for a seat, everyone could get seated promptly. 2. The service throughout our stay was fantastic. Everyone was very attentive and patiently listened to guest feedback and suggestions, making adjustments proactively. The downsides, however, were quite noticeable: 1. The hardware is terrible and doesn't match the price point at all. The air conditioning in the room was very noisy and just barely passable. The bathroom was particularly bad; I've never encountered such poor bathroom facilities, especially not in a five-star hotel. The shower pressure was very weak, and so was the water flow from the bathtub faucet. The toilet height was incredibly uncomfortable; even for someone of my 175cm height, it was awkward to use. Plus, the quality was poor, and due to the bad glaze, flushing was a hassle. The central air conditioning in the lobby was practically useless. Walking into the hotel lobby, it felt only a few degrees cooler than outside. We didn't want to spend any time in the public areas; with outdoor temperatures at 37 degrees Celsius, the heat in the lobby was unbearable. 2. The hotel's main selling point is its 'getaway' style, and while the environment is indeed deep in a valley, quiet and secluded, it lacks the simple recreational facilities that would make guests want to stay. I went to the pool table three times and couldn't play because there was always a queue. Besides that, there weren't many other good leisure activities. For example, the coffee and tea area wasn't appealing because the public area AC was too high, making it uncomfortable, and the cafe environment itself didn't match the price of the hotel, falling far short of many five-star hotels in scenic areas. Although the hotel advertised iron-flower performances, they were only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and we perfectly missed them during our two-day stay. In summary, the hotel's promotional pictures are very attractive, but the reality is quite different. If you're just looking for a secluded getaway, it can meet that need. For everything else, there's a lot of room for improvement.

The facilities are a bit old, but still clean. The room rate is mostly for the view, which is absolutely stunning. The breakfast is good, especially the freshly baked pastries – they're top-notch. The only downside is that the sofa bed in the living room really needs a thorough cleaning. I slept on it for one night and ended up with red, itchy bug bites, probably from dust mites.

The room was super comfortable! The thoughtful butler called us in advance and was able to arrange everything according to our needs, even upgrading our room for free, which made our trip even more pleasant! The breakfast was plentiful, and they even offered sweet soup every night to help us sleep sweetly! The hotel scenery is also fantastic, and it's very close to Lucun Village, perfect for the whole family to relax and unwind.

I've always loved Banyan Tree; their environment and service are consistently excellent, and I really enjoy their food. My child especially loved the wonton noodles for breakfast and the local souvenir gifts, which they've kept as treasures.
