The hotel is located right next to the SBB station, making transportation within and outside Basel very convenient. There's a large supermarket right next door and in the station's basement. Unlike other European cities, the area around the station is relatively safe, so it's not dangerous. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are comfortable, and the famous breakfast restaurant is beautiful. The breakfast food is good, but the selection isn't extensive. The interior is classic, but not outdated! It's clean, stylish, and friendly. I would definitely return!

Guest UserThe hotel is located quite near to the station (around 5-10mins walk away), but you will have to lift your luggage up a flight of stairs to reach their lobby. The hotel is also located near Basel's tourist attractions. The hotel staff who served us during the check in was super friendly and polite, and guided us to look at the city map. Enjoyed the fact that they served fruits and water at their lobby for guests, as we will always get a drink when we exit/enter the hotel.

Guest UserVery close to the train station, which is super convenient. The room itself was quite small, and you had to switch elevators multiple times to get to it, which was a bit of a hassle. Everything else was just okay.

We were just passing through. It's a clean hotel with friendly staff. It was a hot day, so they took a window to our room. You don't have to pay for that. Everything else in the hotel was a bit pricey. But we had a great night!

The room was ok and the hotel is very well located.
Two issues: the staff is easily overwhelmed, make sure you have an abundance of time to check out and the restaurants in the street are extremely noisy. We were quite high in the hotel and it was impossible to get some rest before late in the night.
I understand this is not something the hotel can manage, but it is a piece of information I would have liked to have before booking.
Overall, a little pricy.

The emotional attitude of the lady at the front desk was baffling. When I wanted to order a taxi during check-out in the morning, there was no one at the front desk, nor was there a bell. So I called out ”hello” a few times. The young lady came out from the adjacent room.
”Why are you yelling 'hello'... I am busy... Do you think I should be here (at the front desk) all the time with a smile?” she ranted, complete with an expressive display. What was that all about? I had planned to store my luggage at the hotel, but decided against it. I quickly grabbed my bags and left.

Anna801Basel is very small, just a 15-minute walk from the city center. This hotel is located on the edge of the city center, making it especially convenient for walking and public transportation. There is a beautiful lady at the front desk, gentle and polite. The room size is probably okay in Europe. Although the facilities are not new, they are very clean. There are capsule coffee in the room and the toiletries are provided by L'Occitane. The hotel is across the road from the Rhine, and there is a street behind the hotel similar to the bustling weekend market.

It was hot….i mean super hot and ventilation was non existent. I also have a leg problem and was given a room with only a top bunk. I found a way to make it work. It was one night only.
Bright spot was lovely breakfast at 6am which was a nice treat.
It is difficult to find the hostel unless you know what you’re looking for.
