"This is my go-to hotel for transit stays when catching a flight. The room was clean and spacious, with excellent attention to hygiene. The bed had just the right firmness, perfect for easing travel fatigue. The staff were professional, polite, and very welcoming. The pick-up and drop-off service to Pudong Airport was punctual and reliable. The bathroom was clean with plenty of hot water. The room was quiet, making it easy to fall asleep. The price was reasonable, and overall, I had a great experience. I would definitely book again."

"Nowhere near 4-star standards. Rude staff, dirty rooms, and a limousine no-show. Rating: 1/5 My recent 4-night stay at the Mövenpick by Accor in Shanghai’s People’s Square was a profound disappointment. For a property carrying the Mövenpick name, I expected far better, but sadly, this hotel fails on nearly every front. The room was subpar: The furniture was visibly stained, and the overall cleanliness was lacking. For a 4-night stay, we received complimentary minibar drinks and the advertised ”welcome ice cream” only once each—despite staying for multiple days. This felt petty and inconsistent with the brand's reputation. Laundry was never attended to, washed load left in the washer and not transferred to drying. The housekeeping is either understaffed or just nonchalant. Never before we encountered such service with hotels in China. The service was shocking: The real low point came on our departure day. We requested an airport limousine service for 5:30 AM to ensure we wouldn't miss our flight. When we came down at 5:30, there was no car. When we approached the receptionist, we were met with outright rudeness—he was sitting down, playing on his phone, and barely looked up to acknowledge us. When we asked where our car was, he was entirely unhelpful. There was no concierge to assist with luggage, so we had to drag our own bags down to the curb. We were left stranded at 5:45 AM and had to scramble for last-minute transport to the airport. We almost missed our flight because of this hotel’s incompetence. The contrast: This trip wasn't all bad—we had previously stayed at the Atour Light, which was brand new, spotlessly clean, and had a staff that went above and beyond to be helpful. The difference between the two hotels is night and day. The Atour Light showed what genuine hospitality looks like; this Mövenpick showed me the worst service I have ever experienced. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. A 4-star price tag does not justify 1-star service."

"We arrived around 4 PM, only to be told that the hotel was fully booked the night before, preventing us from checking in immediately. We had to wait for about half an hour to check in, which was quite annoying. The location is truly excellent, right on Nanjing East Road. There are tons of malls nearby, and we could easily walk to Shimao Plaza. Next door is Bailian ZX, and across the street, there's a White Rabbit shop with delicious drinks. The hygiene was decent, although the room wasn't perfectly clean when we checked in. I'm not even sure what it was, but I was too lazy to complain, so I just covered it with the 'police station' sign. The service was also good; I asked to borrow a scale, and they lent it to me for two days. Other than the check-in issue on the first day, everything else was pretty good. Oh, and a big complaint about the delivery robot – it was incredibly slow!"

"Highly recommend this hotel for its excellent value for money. The location is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk to People's Square Metro Station (a hub for 3 lines), making it easy to get anywhere. Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is also only a 10-minute walk away, and there are plenty of food options within a few minutes' stroll. The front desk staff were very polite and accommodating, and even upgraded me to a large executive room for free, which was very nice."

"Pros: 1. Great location for an overnight layover. The room was clean and well-maintained, and there were many dining options nearby. 2. Free airport shuttle and two sets of washer/dryers in the laundry room. 3. They helped receive and store my express delivery package. The front desk was meticulous in verifying identities, which showed their dedication and responsibility. 4. My request for two rooms on the same floor when booking was fulfilled. Cons: 1. Being close to the mall, there was a possibility of noise from e-sports enthusiasts. 2. The rooms were on the fourth and fifth floors, and the elevator on the first floor didn't go directly to them. 3. The shuttle runs on a fixed schedule, so if you miss it, you have to wait an hour."

"I found this Puyan Hotel last minute for a business trip to Shanghai. The location is incredibly convenient. You can see the hotel right outside Exit 5 of Dashijie Metro Station, which serves both Line 8 and Line 14. The hotel lobby is clean and bright. The room hygiene was also excellent. All the service staff were very polite. The front desk staff were also incredibly helpful and patient. They even offered to help with my luggage, which was a nice touch. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Shanghai. It's close to many popular attractions. I'll definitely book here again next time I'm in Shanghai. Thank you to all the staff."

"Located upstairs in a newly opened shopping mall, the room was very clean and quiet, with a view of the Huangpu River across the street. The breakfast selection was plentiful, and the location was convenient. They even provided complimentary fruit. A very satisfying stay."

"I had a wonderful stay at Shanghai Atour Light Hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the breakfast had a good variety of choices.We also appreciated the convenient facilities, including the TV screen and the availability of a washing machine and dryer, which was especially useful during our trip. The location is excellent—very convenient for visiting Shanghai’s attractions and just a short walk from the metro station, making it easy to get around the city. Despite the convenient location, the environment was quiet and comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Overall, a great hotel with friendly service, cleanliness, a convenient location, and a comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again! 👍"

"We stayed at this hotel from September 2nd to 5th, 2026. The location is SUPER EXCELLENT!!! Everything is nearby: McDonald's, Doutor Coffee, Subway, Running Dumpling, Family Mart, etc. Just a 450-meter walk and you're on Nanjing Road. The room was good, and the toilet was smart: it opens, washes, dries, and flushes 🤗. Breakfast felt more like lunch, with no options: soup, fried dumplings as the main course, and coffee. Our only issue was the housekeeping, or rather, the lack thereof. If we asked, they would clean; if we didn't, they wouldn't. We had to ask them to mop the floors because there was construction dust along the baseboards. Of course, the staff apologized on the last day and gave us a gift for the inconvenience, but I couldn't not mention it. Otherwise, everything was great. The reception staff were friendly and responsive. By the way, no smoking in the rooms 👍🏻, which is fantastic."
