The location is excellent and the hotel has been renovated, but it has some fatal flaws.
1. The soundproofing of the room doors is practically nonexistent. At 3 AM on our second night, we could clearly hear the loud opening and closing of the next-door room's door. We could also distinctly hear a couple talking and making intimate sounds.
2. The room's cleanliness was not up to par; there was a dead cockroach on the carpet.
3. The curtains didn't provide enough blackout, and light shone directly into my eyes.
4. There were no power outlets by the bed, so I had to charge my phone on the desk.

The best thing about this hotel was definitely its location! It's less than a 5-minute walk from Shuanglian Station for an adult, and you can get to Shilin Night Market, Taipei 101, and Zhongshan without any MRT transfers. Ningxia Night Market and Carrefour Chongqing Store are also within walking distance. The room was clean, and the shower pressure was good.
As I read in some other reviews, if you're sensitive to noise, you might be bothered by the ambulance sirens from the large hospital nearby and sounds from the next room, as the walls seem a bit thin. I'm not particularly bothered by noise, so it didn't affect my sleep at all. I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance to visit Taipei in the future. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those like me who are visiting Taipei and traveling solo for the first time.

The rooms and common areas were kept very clean, making for a very comfortable stay. Although it's a typical unit bath, I really liked that the shower room here could be partitioned off with a sliding door! This meant the toilet didn't get all wet after a shower. The water pressure and temperature were perfect!
The location was also excellent. There are many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, so I never felt inconvenienced. Being located between Zhongshan Station and Taipei Main Station made it very convenient for getting anywhere. For breakfast, I highly recommend Sihai Soy Milk King. It's a very local diner, but absolutely delicious! For dinner, Ningxia Night Market is a must-visit. If you enjoy walking, you can even walk there. This night market is full of incredible food!
Specifically, the chicken rice at Fang Jia was shockingly delicious!
Of course, the front desk staff were also very kind and gave me a lot of helpful information!!
I definitely want to stay here again when I come back to Taiwan!
I'll attach various photos.

Am really lucky to change my accommodation to At Home just along few days before the trip. At Home remind me of a chinese saying: 麻雀虽小,五脏俱全. Basically I booked the smallest room available and there are double bed, private toilet, shower gel/shampoo, hair dryer, snacks, drinking water etc. I would say that it's very suitable for solo backpacker with all the privacy in place. Soundproofing is also good for ultra light-sleeper like me. Bed is comfy for me but pillow is very thin even i stacked 2 together & shower water is hot and strong. Please note that there is no housekeeping services during the stay. Customer service is prompt via Line and assistance is almost immediately although there is no people in counter. Location is superb too. Everything is so convenient staying there. I will not hesitate to stay there again if travelling solo next time. Thanks... I feel At Home for the past few nights..

We picked the hotel for location and it met our expectations. Its facilities were dated and could be improved. But if you wanted a hotel near the Taiwan railway station for a couple of night it was fine.

The hotel is in an excellent location, with easy access to public transport, shopping areas, and nearby attractions, which made getting around very convenient. The room was comfortable and clean, and the overall environment of the hotel was well-maintained. I especially appreciated how convenient everything was during my stay. The location is excellent—right above Taipei Main Station, making it extremely convenient for transport, shopping, and food options. - Location: Very convenient. Right in front of Taipei main station. Accessible to convenient stores, fruit stalls, walkable distance to Ximending. A bit difficult to find at first as Google map leads the way to use the back side of the elevator. The hotel is on the 5th floor of the brick colour building. Enter through the entrance next to the family mart then use the elevator on the most end.
- Room: No window in my room but that's fine, as we stay in the hotel only at night. If you plan to spend lots of your time in the room, then this place is not for you. The room is not sound proof. So you can hear people walking in the lobby or talking/laughing from the room next door.
- Guest type: I noticed that most of the guests are asian.
- Hygiene: if you are a germaphobic, then you might feel gross with their carpet. But overall, the toilet, shower, and sink are clean. Bed sheets are also ok. I think what downgrades the room the most is the old carpet. We put a make up room sign everyday before we left and our room got cleaned, towels being replaced everyday.
- Service: staffs know what they are doing.

Stayed for one night. Check-in was very efficient, took about 3 minutes total. Staff were helpful; in fact, they helped an elderly gentleman who has trouble walking to his room.
Room is spacious enough and has sufficient amenities for its price point. Only minor downside is the only window is in the bathroom.

This is my go-to place every time I visit. I must say, the front desk staff—especially the older lady, a younger female colleague, and the gentleman on the night shift—are incredibly friendly and provide excellent service. The location is convenient, and the rooms are spotless. It's truly a top choice for anyone planning an overnight stay in Taipei!

Very Good
SS93reExcellent as always. However they stopped providing disposables which might affect some travelers. Do note that you cannot clock hilton points when booking on trip.
AAnonymous UserAsking for a higher floored room really makes all the difference 😀 the city view is beautiful in the day and night (16F). Beds are on the firm side, and the pillows are quite uncomfortable for me. One is too soft and one is too hard.
However, the location is great, easy to go Ximending, or even Taipei101 area using blue line. There is an amazing food street behind the hotel, as well as simple ********* breakfast stores in front of the hotel. Near the area is also an electronics district and Don Don Donki within 10min walk.
The bathroom was great, the water pressure was great and heated toilet came with bidet.
Would visit again for the food street but will bring my own pillows next time ☺️
KkhtravelThe hotel's interior decor is stunning, with a strong Japanese feel. The rooms are clean and spacious, featuring a private onsen and yukata. Plus, there are complimentary drinks and snacks. If you check in around 3 PM, you can enjoy a tea ceremony performance with free green tea and snacks. Breakfast offers a wide and delicious selection!
XXilinnnnGreat location, like 30m walk to one of the exit of Taipei main station (exit Y13). Simple buffet breakfast with dimsum and toast. I booked a 4 bed dorm, one bathroom is attached in the dorm room. Comfortable bed, feel firm and new.
Overall quite nice stay for a budget hostel with this value and location, not much to complain.
SShuxiaThe location is fantastic, right behind Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The elevators and front desk area look a bit dated, but the staff were decent. They put a large bed in the room, but because the room was small and the duvet wasn't warm enough, I got cold in the middle of the night and had to turn off the air conditioning. The kettle had dust and limescale marks. However, the bathroom was really clean, and the toilet was modern. I was genuinely surprised and impressed that the shower had two types of showerheads. It's a very good budget hotel. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.
SSiva Rama 256Check in takes only 5 minutes and check out much more faster with 10 seconds with a self check out machine that will suck in your room card.
Check in gets faster with your reply to the property telling them what type of room you have booked and what time you'll arrive. With booming businesses and too many bookings, the staff might get entangled in mess, so partially you reply is helping them to get grounded and avoid mistakes.
The property is clean, neat, nice and next to easy transport and family mart and 7e.
AAnonymous UserGotten a basement room, the room is clean but kinda small to open up the luggage. Also because it's basement room, there is a constant musky smell emitting from the toilet and filled up the room pretty fast. Have request for a change of room but it is similar issue. Overall it's a comfortable stay near XMD but the room smell is pretty bad.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is great, and it's also close to Taipei Main Station. If you're taking the Airport MRT, I recommend exiting from Taipei Main Station A1, Exit 5. From there, you can walk straight to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes (including waiting for traffic lights).
The nearby MRT stations are NTU Hospital Station (3-minute walk) and Taipei Main Station (7-minute walk). There are also many bus stops, making transportation very convenient.
Regarding the check-in experience, the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and guest rooms for this hotel occupy floors 3-5. There are only two elevators, and since the building houses other businesses, waiting for an elevator can take a while.
The front desk staff were professional and efficient. Before check-in, there was about a minute-long 'rap' outlining the check-in policies.
The hotel bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were clean. It seems to have been recently renovated, as it felt spacious and bright. Soundproofing was acceptable; I could still hear cleaning noises from outside and sounds from the adjacent room. I chose a room with a window this time, but the window couldn't be opened.
Amenities provided were limited to slippers and toilet paper. The shampoo and shower gel were a 2-in-1 product, with a light, pleasant scent and no strange odors.
Overall, it was a pretty good stay, even exceeding my expectations.
(Attached: hotel check-in instructions, a picture before check-out, and the nearest Airport MRT exit to the hotel.)
MM TravelerLocation - Near MRT, Bus Station, Night Market and convenient store like Family Mart. Almost near everything you needed.
Cleanliness - It's clean, every morning, towels were changed, looking forward for beddings to be arranged too.
Service - Good Service. Easy to request additional pillow, umbrella etc.
Facilities are good too. Have Hot & Cold Shower, Have Blower, Have heater and hangers too.
AAnonymous UserThe room is very spacious! I was a bit bummed to not see at least one hanger in the locker, though. It's common to have at least one when the locker has the possibility to. Otherwise, remove it. As I was on the 6th floor, I was also a bit uncomfortable about leaving my room and having to walk past the reception to go to the bathroom area. But I understand that hostels around Taipei Main Station have to deal with the buildings' architecture. For the price, the location and the length of my stay, it wasn't entirely problematic.
