Pleasant Spring Hotel, very close to Thermal Valley. The hotel is a bit older but very well-maintained. The mattress is also very comfortable. We really enjoyed the large private hot spring bath in the room and would book this hotel again. Plus, there's a good coffee machine available 24/7 for free, and in the afternoons, there are snacks (chips, chocolate bars). However, the small double rooms are indeed tiny and some don't even have windows. Sometimes it feels a bit like sleeping in a bathroom – but we were here for the hot spring bath anyway! 😊

The location of the Hotel isn't that convenient to go to, so it's recommend to look at their shuttle bus timing or simply book an Uber to ride up the hill. Each room that you book also comes with a 1x free visit to the outdoor Spa facilities so I highly suggest you to bring a swim wear to go as it's pretty good even at night time. As for the room it's spacious like other reviews photos have shown but not a lot of people have shown the bathroom/toilet so I'm including it here. It's a very spacious Toilet with the bathtub that has the Onsen water, and the shower head beside the bathtub.

The hotel is near the MRT and walking distance to the thermal valley. Easy to walk to the local market to explore the area for food, fruits and local fish and vegetables stalls. The hotel room is big and clean with free tidbits, cold drinks in the fridge. One plus point is able to enjoy hot spring inside the room. Breakfast is simple and limited choices.

Was looking forward to this stay as it was my first visit to Beitou. and looking at the review rating at 8.8. thinking this should be a good place to stay. Check in Relatively late around 6pm which is their check in time stating on the official website. Thinking maybe they need more time to clean up the Rooms. And i was disappointed when i checked in. I know the room type that i booked, chances there won’t be view. but that is ok. but the room cleanliness is far from what reviewed. Toilet area walls are with mould and painting is peeling off. Shower head is too dirty to accept. As i have a long day after hiking at Yangmingshan. i’m just too tired to request for any room change since it just for a night, i settle with cleaning myself. 1/10 for cleanliness. Service Staff are attentive and super friendly Will greet you whenever they see you. Hot spring is normal, with 3 pools , 42 / 38 / 28 Degree C temperatures. no Steam room and sauna room. Breakfast taste super good, and fresh. (Although it’s a pre-settled manual) no buffet style for this hotel. 8/10 for food and service The room is at 4,800 TWD for this period. it really consider expensive. might get a better deal elsewhere.

We were a group of seven staying from 1–2 November 2025. Good Service: The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The hotel also provides a convenient shuttle service to go down from the hotel, which is located on a mountain slope. We requested an early check-in at 5 p.m. as we had a baby, and the hotel kindly accommodated our request. Since the building has four storeys and our rooms were on the 3rd and 4th floors, the staff also helped carry all our luggage to the rooms — much appreciated! Cleanliness: The toilet and hot spring areas were clean, bright, and well-maintained. Minor Issue: I stayed on the top floor, and around 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. we heard some noises from the ceiling — possibly from animals. I couldn’t sleep well that night. We gave feedback to the receptionist, who explained that the building is close to the forest and the sounds might have come from raccoons. Overall: We were satisfied with our stay. The excellent service and cleanliness made it a pleasant and enjoyable experience overall.

By integrating healthy eating, aromatherapy experience, hot spring spa, various indoor and outdoor sports, and health consultation complete services, customers can still extend the hotel even after they leave the hotel. The hotel boasts an excellent location. Upon exiting Xinbeitou MRT station, it's immediately visible across the road to your left. The service was also top-notch. During check-in, I was offered a unique tea, and the process was completed swiftly. A staff member assisted me with my luggage to the room, explaining the hotel's facilities and complimentary activities along the way. During my stay, activities included an escape room, a 'night witch' tour, and a yoga class. The staff also informed me about the breakfast restaurant's location, explaining that some items are a one-time serve, while others are all-you-can-eat. They even recommended the ********* beef noodles. Once in the room, they thoroughly explained its features and offered helpful tips. The hotel's proximity to the library, Beitou Geothermal Valley, and the Hot Spring Museum makes it incredibly convenient. Highly recommended!

Thought I was upgraded from 36m2 to 28m2 (happiness room to love suite), so it is on higher floor, not G/F. Just note that there are two stairs inside room for love suite (door to room, room to hot spring) so it actually feel smaller than the photos. Original plan was to have my aunt 65+ to stay. Stairs may present some difficulties to them so ask hotel before confirmation of your trip if you have elderly /small children. Pros: can listen to birds singing in the mornings while watching Mountain View. This will be one strong reason for coming back. Also, views from dining room is superb. Appreciated so much for the staff at reception who meticulously take care of my needs to order take-out. She was so kind & I hope more ladies could be in hotel to serve their clients. At this price (lowest HKD46x for basic room type) there is nothing to complain. So I would definitely consider going back in winter times. Cons: plumbing system is old coz it’s uphill. WC can only handle liquid waste. Housekeeping effort will be needed for any solid waste disposal… Noise from housekeeping (& kitchen staff sending breakfast to rooms) can disturb sleep for light sleepers. When they change buffet breakfast to room service, I went to fetch a cup for hot water. A male staff intercepted me & asked abt the cups. To assure him that I won’t take these away, just show the pic below to reception (留下三大跟三小的杯). Hope he understands that female solo travellers are common elsewhere even i looked like locals; & simply bc my travel-mate have to leave earlier than planned.

This place was amazing! I was a little hesitant to book because it went over our budget, but I'm so glad we did. They made us feel like guests rather than customers. I only regret not booking for at least 3 days! The one thing that bothered me was not knowing the full details about the shuttle service they provide (pick up location and times), but when I messaged them they replied pretty quickly. Place is spotless and they provide snacks and coffee/tea/water in the room. We would definitely come back if ever in Taiwan again!

The private hot spring and sauna experience was excellent. Being able to soak and then rest in our own room — alternating between bathing and relaxing — made it especially enjoyable. The room was not small and was perfectly adequate for two people. Ours even had a small window overlooking the library across the street. Beitou residents are truly fortunate — this place is simply beautiful. The breakfast was also delicious. Their curry was not the typical Japanese style, nor was it Indian; it seemed closer to a Southeast Asian style — I’m not entirely sure, but it was absolutely flavorful. If we return in the future, I would gladly stay here again. Each guest is entitled to one complimentary public bath session per day. However, since our room was so comfortable, we chose not to use it. It’s essentially just a larger communal pool.

True to its new build, the hotel is clean and beautiful right from the entrance. The staff were all incredibly friendly, and I was especially touched that they generously refilled the mini-bar during room make-up! We thoroughly enjoyed the in-room bathtub, as well as the swimming pool, family baths, and public baths. Although the breakfast didn't have a huge variety of dishes, each item was clean and delicious. During happy hour, we indulged in unlimited beer, a cheese platter, and various other snacks. The lounge snacks were tasty too! We made unforgettable memories visiting the nearby Hot Spring Museum, Geothermal Valley, and Wuga Beef Noodle Restaurant. Oh, and the sulfur hot springs definitely did wonders for my skin!

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. Thank you for your attention.

GGuest UserI really want to rate this hotel well but it was the worst sleep. Hd to rearrange my plans, delay early starts and survived by involuntarily falling asleep on public transport. For objectivity, I will commend the good parts while also sharing my horror. Pros: Checked in 2hrs early w/ upgraded room. Washing machine/dryer/detergent on 3F. Kind housekeeping staff. 24hr reception. Receptionists speak good english. Big TV. Decent wifi. Fridge, hairdryer in drawer, kettle, slipers, desk/chair. Good water temperature. Smart toilet but loud. Many lights so the 'no windows' didn't bother me as I anticipated. Given 2 key cards. Provided water bottles. Comfortable pillows. Ideal location, next to Taipei Main Station, 15-20min walk from Ximendeng if you're conflicted between the two locations like I was. Cons: Worst soundproofing ever. Not much empathy or hospitality for complaints. Limited TV channels, no streaming services or YouTube. No conditioner. Sheets + towels had holes/rips but clean. Tips: Use the lifts at the back of the building, less busier. From Main Station, follow signs for the underground mall or exits beginning with Z. If the closest lift exit is blocked, use the next nearest lift and cross the road. Ask people for help if you are lost, don't waste your time. I preferred buses honestly. Withdraw cash from the Cathay United Bank ATM in the underground mall (no extra fees like other ATMs), defer conversion so your bank chooses the exchange rates (ook up a video online to see how it works if you are confused). Airport taxis park in the front of the hotel (at least mine did at 3am). I am a fairly light sleeper so I packed earplugs and over-ear headphones in fear of the sound issues people reported. All I heard for the majority of my stay was my hellish neighbours going in and out their room, ringing their doorbell (each room has 1 outside, cool feature but should be disabled late night), and door slamming (if someone does not hold the door for a light close). I tend to sleep late anyway so I shrugged it off the first time. The following nights, the same noises continued, every few minutes (not exaggerating) until 2/3am. Even with earplugs AND over ear headphones AND clothes covering my ears, I was woken up anytime I was remotely close to sleep. As a solo traveller, I was scared to confront them but other neighbours (who are even further from the noisy group) complained. On my last day, I had to complain too since I had to get up before 3am for my flight. The staff said that they were aware of this and that a large group was staying next door (turns out the hotel offers rooms that fit 8 people.. lol) and that they would report it to the leader. I suggested that the door closing could be done lightly and they could call instead of use the doorbell but receptionist did not seem to care and brushed me off. I did not expect any apology but a little empathy would have meant a lot to a person who has gotten less than 7hrs sleep total the past few days. Thanks to the report I was able to sleep by 1am, a real record... I am a tolerant person but I really suffered because of bad soundproofing and lack of attentiveness from the hotel. I know it is not the hotel's fault that I had an unlucky situation. However, there are SO many complaints on soundproofing that the hotel should do something about it. Invest in soundproofing, install something to make the doors close slowly on its own. It costs nothing to remind guests (esp. big groups) during check-ins to be mindful especially after midnight, give a penalty fee for those who don't comply, offer guests who complain about noise an alternate room if available - anything... I specifically requested for a quiet room when booking - how is being next to a 6/8 people room going to be quiet? Would have paid more just to have the unupgraded room. The pros are fantastic, but decent sleep is a basic necessity for any hotel. I hope this review is helpful to others considering!

SShuxiaThe location is fantastic, right behind Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The elevators and front desk area look a bit dated, but the staff were decent. They put a large bed in the room, but because the room was small and the duvet wasn't warm enough, I got cold in the middle of the night and had to turn off the air conditioning. The kettle had dust and limescale marks. However, the bathroom was really clean, and the toilet was modern. I was genuinely surprised and impressed that the shower had two types of showerheads. It's a very good budget hotel. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.

SSiva Rama 256Check in takes only 5 minutes and check out much more faster with 10 seconds with a self check out machine that will suck in your room card. Check in gets faster with your reply to the property telling them what type of room you have booked and what time you'll arrive. With booming businesses and too many bookings, the staff might get entangled in mess, so partially you reply is helping them to get grounded and avoid mistakes. The property is clean, neat, nice and next to easy transport and family mart and 7e.

GGuest UserWe had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is great, the rooms are quiet, clean, and well-maintained, with daily housekeeping and complete replenishment of amenities. We also appreciated the express check-in and check-out, which made the process smooth and convenient. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of options, and we especially liked that hotpot was included. Since we had an early flight, the hotel also accommodated our request for packed breakfast, which we truly appreciated. One small suggestion for improvement: better internal coordination among staff regarding guest requests. We requested packed breakfast before arrival and again at check-in, but during our last day some staff were not aware of the arrangement, although it was eventually prepared. Clear endorsement of guest requests within the team would make the experience even smoother. Overall, the hotel provides very good service, comfortable rooms, and a convenient location. We would definitely recommend staying here.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is great, and it's also close to Taipei Main Station. If you're taking the Airport MRT, I recommend exiting from Taipei Main Station A1, Exit 5. From there, you can walk straight to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes (including waiting for traffic lights). The nearby MRT stations are NTU Hospital Station (3-minute walk) and Taipei Main Station (7-minute walk). There are also many bus stops, making transportation very convenient. Regarding the check-in experience, the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and guest rooms for this hotel occupy floors 3-5. There are only two elevators, and since the building houses other businesses, waiting for an elevator can take a while. The front desk staff were professional and efficient. Before check-in, there was about a minute-long 'rap' outlining the check-in policies. The hotel bed was comfortable, and the room and bathroom were clean. It seems to have been recently renovated, as it felt spacious and bright. Soundproofing was acceptable; I could still hear cleaning noises from outside and sounds from the adjacent room. I chose a room with a window this time, but the window couldn't be opened. Amenities provided were limited to slippers and toilet paper. The shampoo and shower gel were a 2-in-1 product, with a light, pleasant scent and no strange odors. Overall, it was a pretty good stay, even exceeding my expectations. (Attached: hotel check-in instructions, a picture before check-out, and the nearest Airport MRT exit to the hotel.)

AAnonymous UserThe room is very spacious! I was a bit bummed to not see at least one hanger in the locker, though. It's common to have at least one when the locker has the possibility to. Otherwise, remove it. As I was on the 6th floor, I was also a bit uncomfortable about leaving my room and having to walk past the reception to go to the bathroom area. But I understand that hostels around Taipei Main Station have to deal with the buildings' architecture. For the price, the location and the length of my stay, it wasn't entirely problematic.
