"Overall Impression: This hotel feels more like a mix between a business hotel and a serviced apartment. It is a great functional choice, especially for those who are driving and need a comfortable place to stay for a night or two while on the move. Location & Accessibility 📍 Prime Spot: The hotel is located right on the main road, making it very easy to find. The Crowd: During my stay, most guests seemed to be locals or people attending events like weddings and parties nearby. Distance to City Center: It is about a 20-minute drive to downtown Brussels. However, be aware that there is currently a lot of road construction in the city, which can lead to heavy traffic. The Service & Check-in 🔑 Reception: There is a front desk, but it is staffed by only one person with limited hours (usually until around 20:00). Self Check-out: For check-out, it’s very convenient—you can simply drop your key card in the designated box and go. Housekeeping: Cleaning staff operate during standard office hours, so they are not available around the clock. Parking 🚗 On-site Parking: There is a large parking lot located at the back of the building. Cost: It costs €16 per day. I recommend registering your car at the counter during check-in so you can drive in and out as many times as you like. Food & Amenities 🍴 Meals: Please note that breakfast is not provided. There is a restaurant across the street, but its opening hours are inconsistent. Shopping: There is a large supermarket within walking distance (located in the nearby alley), which is very handy. In-Room Facilities: The room features a kitchenette with a microwave, perfect for preparing quick meals. Who is this hotel for? ✅ Best for: Business travelers, people looking for a ”stopover” while driving between cities, or those who need a functional place for a short-term stay. Not for: If you are looking for a luxury holiday vibe or a ”resort” experience, this might not be the right fit. It is designed for utility and convenience."

"The Standard Hotel in Brussels is located in the Northern Quarter, an area characterized by government buildings, offices, and a large number of 60s and 70s office blocks, making it sparsely populated. The hotel cleverly utilizes this somewhat cold, stark modernist urban backdrop by injecting color, warmth, abundant greenery, and local Brussels creative culture. The interiors were designed by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois. He masterfully blends design languages from different periods of the 20th century: from Art Deco, American and Belgian modernism, to postmodernism and the 80s. Warm wood finishes, 1930s-style carpets, and circular and arched structures are interspersed throughout, creating a retro yet timelessly chic look. The hotel also showcases numerous works by local Belgian artists. The most prominent piece at the entrance is Jan Janssens' ceramic sculpture, 'The Dance.' Jan often explores the human position within urban systems through figures and giant city architecture. 🙋🏾♀️One pro: It's absolutely beautiful! 😌One con: It's in a business district, so there aren't many restaurants or supermarkets nearby, which can be a bit inconvenient at night."

"The carpets in the room were dirty, they weren't cleaned or maintained. A dead fly was there when we checked in and was still there after 3 days. Apparently, room cleaning only involves making the bed and changing towels, which is something, at least. Bathroom: The toilet seat was dirty, the toilet was leaking, and the shower was leaking. It was very inconvenient that the soap and shampoo came in bottles with screw caps. Also, there was only one bar of soap for one person, but there were three of us, which isn't very hygienic to share. The folding bed for my daughter was very uncomfortable; the room was big enough to dance in, not to sleep in. The soundproofing was also poor, and we could constantly hear the neighbors. The only positive thing I can highlight is the breakfast, but even that was repetitive."

"The reception staff was very friendly when we checked in as well as throughout our stay. There is private parking available for 15€ a night but we opted for the cheaper option right as there are many available parking spots outside of the hotel. We ended up paying a little under 10€ for about 2 days. The room itself was very spacious and offered a lot of storage space as well as a mini fridge, which we had to plug in on arrival. The beds were very comfortable and rather soft. Close to the EU Parliament and about a 30 minute walk to the more touristy city centre or you can take the metro."

"My experience at the hotel was really below expectations. The hotel doesn’t hv one of the main and basic service (Bellboy) to support guests with their luggages, which is a clear shortcoming that does not align with the basic standards of the hospitality industry! Additionally, the staff’s attitude during the check-in was average and lacked the expected level of professionalism, which negatively impacted the overall experience. In short, 3 star hotel is the Max. they should be classified"

"I stayed at this hotel for one night and had a good experience. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice with enough choice. The location is quiet, it’s easy to get to the city center and the airport. Overall, good value for money. I would recommend it."

"We had a very pleasant stay in Made in Catherine, the room was clean and very careful, so we felt home immediately, and the breakfast was extensive, fresh and very carefully prepared. All was present for a comfortable and relaxed stay. We would like to come back again!"
