VC TravelsMixed feelings.
The hotel is well located, with Washington Union Station nearby.
The rooms are average; they’re clean, but a bit outdated and musty.
The reception staff looked tired and unbothered. The hotel seems to operate only under daily timings; I was not able to get cleaning later on the day. The safe was not working and I had to wait until the next day for someone to come check it, same case for broken light in the bathroom.
The fitness is well equipped.
The hotel was not able to accommodate my request to cancel the last night, even though I was moving to another Hilton. Not necessarily the kind of service you’d expect from them.
Amenities were available upon request, there’s a mini fridge in the room. There was no kettle available.
Overall, for the price, you can get better in Washington DC.

Anonymous UserThe room was very clean and the location was excellent. The lobby staff were all very friendly, and you could get free water. If you walk down the slope for about 5 minutes, there's a delicious Thai restaurant called Thai Chief Street Food, which is a bit like Chinese-style rice bowls. You can rent a Lime scooter and get to George Town in about 10 minutes. For bubble tea, I recommend the QQ Happy Family from Gong Cha in George Town (the jumbo size is perfect for two people, I suggest less ice and 30% sugar). For Chinese food, I recommend the Three Treasure Rice from CHINATOWN EXPRESS.

Guest UserMy wife, our 5-year-old son, and I recently spent 3 lovely nights at Canopy by Hilton Washington DC Embassy Row during our family trip to the nation’s capital, and it turned out to be the ideal choice for our little family of three. Located in the charming Embassy Row neighborhood, the hotel’s location is truly unbeatable—just a 10-minute walk to Farragut North Metro Station, allowing us to easily reach iconic spots like the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, and the White House, which were perfect for our curious 5-year-old.
We booked a deluxe room with two queen beds, which was spacious and comfortable for the three of us. The room was impeccably clean, with bright, modern decor and soft lighting that made it feel warm and welcoming after long days of sightseeing. The plush beds ensured we all slept well, and the blackout curtains were a lifesaver for our son, who tends to wake up early with sunlight. There were plenty of USB charging ports and free Wi-Fi, which kept our son entertained with his tablet during downtime, and the room had enough space for him to play a little without feeling cramped.
What impressed us most was how family-friendly the hotel was, especially for a young child. The staff was incredibly warm and patient; they greeted our son by name after the first day and even gave him a small toy as a welcome gift, which made him feel so special. There were also convenient coffee stations in the lobby, perfect for a quick pick-me-up before we headed out to explore the city with our little one.
The complimentary Canopy bikes were a fun activity for our family—our son loved riding in the child seat while my wife and I cycled around the quiet, tree-lined streets of Embassy Row. The concierge was also very helpful, recommending family-friendly restaurants nearby and helping us plan our itinerary to avoid crowds at the museums, which made our trip much smoother.
Overall, our stay was wonderful. The hotel’s prime location, comfortable accommodations, and thoughtful, family-focused service made our DC trip unforgettable. We highly recommend Canopy by Hilton Embassy Row to any family traveling with a young child—we couldn’t have asked for a better home base. We will definitely return on our next family trip to Washington DC.

Our recent stay at the Residence Inn Washington, DC National Mall was fantastic for our group of 6! The One Bedroom Two Queen Suite with Sofa Bed provided plenty of space for everyone to stay comfortably. The suite was perfectly sized with two queen beds in the separate bedroom and a queen-sized sofa bed in the living area. The spacious layout allowed all six of us to move around comfortably without feeling cramped, especially with the separate living and sleeping areas.
Location: 5/5 - Prime spot near the National Mall
Cleanliness: 5/5 - Everything was spotless and well-maintained
Service: 5/5 - Staff was accommodating
Facilities: 5/5 - All amenities exceeded expectations
The suite proved to be an ideal choice for our group of 6. The queen-sized beds, including the sofa bed, provided comfortable sleeping arrangements for everyone. The living area offered enough space for us to gather and socialize, making it a perfect base for our DC adventure. For anyone traveling with a group of 6, I can confidently say this suite configuration works great, offering both comfort and convenience in an excellent location.

First off, I need to say that I stayed for quite a while, and I really regret it. I should have booked for just one day and then extended my stay as needed. This hotel has a strict no early checkout policy; if you leave early, they still charge you for the full booked duration.
Why do I regret it? Here are a few points I wasn't happy with:
(1) The room was too small. I booked a 'Super King Room,' which implies it's suitable for two people, but upon checking in, I realized it simply had a super king-sized bed, not a large room. On the contrary, the room was tiny; it would be okay for one person at best. The width of the room was equivalent to the length of a single mattress, and its length was about 3.2 to 3.3 times the width of a mattress (around 1.8m each, I'd guess).
(2) The hotel only offers this one room type, so there's no option to upgrade.
(3) The air quality in the room was poor. Because the room was small and had no windows, it relied entirely on the air conditioning for ventilation. After leaving in the morning and returning at night, there was still that old-fashioned train smell. This is why we left early in the morning and came back late at night – we simply didn't want to spend time in the room.
Just to clarify, pictures 2 and 3 show the actual situation with the bathroom door open.
So, if you're someone who's out all day and only comes back to sleep, if you're traveling solo, and if it's for a short stay of just a day or two, then this hotel might be acceptable.

Guest UserThe service is ok. Got the corner room, but it's not soundproof at all. Someone was either talking on the street or in the room next to me at 4 AM; I couldn't fall asleep, and I was so tired for my conference in the morning. The location is good, walking distance to union station.

Anonymous UserThe TV had no signal, and after trying various methods, I gave up. The room door needed to be closed gently to avoid making a loud noise. The toilet flushing was mediocre, and the amenities seemed cheaply made. Most importantly, the room was filled with a pungent, overpowering smell of newly renovated furniture; it was very irritating and made my throat very sore. I suggest the hotel remove the smell (I'm not sure if it's formaldehyde). This is the first time I've experienced such a throat irritation in a new hotel.

Guest UserAbsolutely loved staying at the Churchill Hotel! It is in a beautiful neighborhood. Close to DuPont Circle and the Metro. Very safe neighborhood. There is a separate area in the room with a desk. Actually, large enough to use as a dressing room! We will definitely be going back and staying at the Churchill.
