"The service was excellent and breakfast was good. We arrived in the evening and had plans in Negombo early the next morning, so we quickly chose this hotel because of its proximity. The beach, restaurant, and pool were all very clean. Room cleanliness was just okay; I even found used tissues in the wardrobe. Early the next morning, we went to the beach to watch the sunrise, and it was wonderfully uncrowded. The only downside is that the hotel rooms face the street, so there was a lot of traffic noise at night. Light sleepers should definitely take this into consideration. Upon checking out the next day, we discovered that the other side of the hotel, also facing the street, was a cemetery."

"The staff made me feel so welcome and nothing was too much - even accommodating my dietary requirements as much as possible. They really helped make my travel easy and comfortable.

"The hotel actually good, but yes the staff. When I came I don’t think they change the bed linen so much dust there and I’m getting flu. And one day it was room cleaning . I was sleeping in the morning and I heard somebody open the door I’m not sure what kind of accident ) but hear somehow somebody open the door to check the room. For it’s so impolite to open guest room without permission even though u were knocking. (If it’s real)
The restaurant staff are very helpful the man who working there only , but they didn’t pour me water also when I was dining, yes but I’m not expecting to get 5 star service in this hotel so well for me. If they can maintain cleanliness from the hotel the price really worth it as the hotel nearby airport. But good they offer wet towel and welcome drinks. The public area staff probably so polite. The airport driver were so polite I impressed when he said good morning maam, even I see he feel so sleepy."

"A green hotel, very close to the sea, and the view from the room is amazing.
1) Breakfast wasn't very tasty, and the food at the hotel wasn't particularly good.
2) The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need.
3) Parking is available right across from the hotel.
4) You exit the hotel, turn right, and walk along the road where you'll find restaurants, cafes, and shops. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to a good restaurant, which is fine overall; you can enjoy a stroll.
5) There's a volleyball court inside the hotel, and we played a game.
Overall, it's good, but the hotel itself isn't new. If you're staying for 2-3 days, it's a great option, but for a week, it's probably better to choose another place."

"After several transfers, we finally arrived at the hotel just as a torrential downpour began. Watching the lightning and thunder outside my window, the waves crashing against the rocks, and the strong winds whipping the swings around, filled me with utter bliss 🈵.
Then we went to the restaurant. Dinner was served until 10 PM. The sushi 🍣 and seafood platter were delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the other dishes as they didn't suit my Chinese palate. It was quite expensive though, costing over 500 [local currency] (picture 13).
The next day, as I'd hoped, was bright and sunny. I was thrilled to see the hotel's full grandeur. During breakfast (picture 14), I looked up and saw a squirrel in the tree 🐿️.
I wandered around the hotel and was moved to tears by its beauty! Many friends traveling to Sri Lanka use Negombo as their first night's stopover, and I highly recommend this hotel to kick off your entire trip with an amazing experience 📸.

"Very satisfied! The owners are really nice, incredibly warm, and thoughtful. I forgot my power adapter and when I mentioned it, they promptly brought one over. When that one didn't work, they found another and delivered it to us. The fried rice was also pretty good and not expensive, saving us the trouble of going out to find food. Then, when we had to go to the airport at 3:30 AM, they were there on time to drop us off. Truly very satisfied! 😇"

"This was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category."

An Excellent Hotel with a Caring Host!
We are very happy with our choice! The mattresses are high-quality, we slept wonderfully after a long trip to Sri-Lanka. The terrace is simply our favorite spot!
Special thanks to the host for handling a non-standard situation: we originally booked 2 nights, but after the first night, our plans changed. We wanted to explore further into the island and then return to the same hotel 10 days later. The host was very accommodating: he seamlessly split our booking into two parts (the first night and the later night), which was extremely convenient and cost-effective for us. Moreover, he gave us excellent advice on the travel route around the island.
What can be improved: neighbour's dog was a little bit noisy in the evening.
We greatly appreciate the flexibility and hospitality! I definitely recommend this place.

Great place to stay. Staff were very good and helpful. The breakfast was good. Room size was spacious and it was great to have a choice of AC or calling fan. Great to having a working smart TB too. Choice of minibar options was perfect and at reasonable cost. Pool area was clean and well maintained. Would stay here again.

Fully accessible if you have reduced mobility, a quick ride from the airport and full of the hospitality and charm that Sri Lanka is known for. The grounds are beautiful and the food at breakfast was delightful.
I particularly liked that there was a giant superstore right opposite the entrance, perfect for picking up things you might have forgotten on your way there or goodies for your trip back.

I stayed here for one night while in transit and had a very comfortable stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and it was a good place to get some much-needed rest.
I woke up after dinner time, but the chef was kind enough to still take my order even though the kitchen had already closed. They made an amazing pasta, which I really enjoyed and appreciated.
There are a few things that could be improved. The shower was quite loud, and I think the toiletries could be better or replaced. The telephone in the room also wasn’t working properly, which made it a little difficult to get in touch with the front desk when needed.
Getting to the hotel was also a bit of a hassle with Uber, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Overall, though, I had a great stay. The room was comfortable, the hospitality was good, and the chef going out of their way to prepare food after the kitchen had closed was especially appreciated

Amazing hotel with a lot of care and thought put into the little details. Feels very unique with the suites having a very architectural type feel, example recsess in the bathroom for light features and shelving etc. the door however had an old rusty handle which would fault, locking you in! Had to leave the door open propped by a bin. The pool is beautiful although not as clean as our previous hotel at Heritance Negombo, a few doors up. The power also cut out 10+ times over an hour period. Maybe the switch between solar to grid needs to be upgraded. The single lift is also very old and tiny. Definitely needs an upgrade. Spa was good, breakfast was fairly standard however fresh pancakes were a treat after 2 weeks of eating stale hard ones at other buffets haha

It was less than 10 minutes from the airport and I arrived at the hotel around 1:00am.
The staff was very kind even though I arrived in the middle of the night.
It was a very short stay, but the price was reasonable and large, and the room and bathroom were very beautiful.
I am satisfied. I want to use it again.

The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming; however, they appeared to be insufficiently trained, which at times affected efficiency and service quality. Room cleanliness was acceptable but could be improved. In addition, the sliding door lock to the balcony was broken, which may pose a potential safety concern and should be addressed promptly. Traveling Tan
I stayed in this hotel for a week. It’s only been open for 5 months and at first appearance it looks good, but taking a closer look it’s still being built and repaired. There are still cables jutting out of the wall and ceiling. Although the kitchen is featured in the photos of the room, it has no tap, the cupboards are sealed. I raised some of my concerns when I arrived with the general manager when he asked me questions about my stay and he seemed blasé about addressing it. Based on what was paid, this hotel is overpriced. There are still cement stairways and drilling taking place during the day. The WiFi is awful, they finally installed a router in my room which took the week to do and it only worked on the day of my departure. The best part of the hotel is some staff members who will go out of their way to help, special mention to Jazz. They have a great pool on the roof. Until it’s fully built I wouldn’t recommend staying here!
